What a lot of people forget about P3 Portable is that it also has unique New Game+ ending dialogue that no other version has.

Persona 3 is still my favourite instalment in the series even after P5 and I initially played it as P3P and it is without a doubt the one I hold most dear to me. I don’t have any issues with the visual novel style presentation
Great game is great, and excited to get that platinum trophy for one of my favorite games. But I’m still left wanting that “definitive version” I hope we someday get..
Yeah, this is my favorite game. But kinda bummed not to have the anime cutscenes and 3D environments. But I will certainly be putting so many hours into it as I did with fes and portable in the past. Just saddened by the choice not to take the best parts and create a definitive edition to show new players the best the game has to offer. But that’s just me.

I prefer the 2D world, played both but I enjoyed P3P so much more because of it.
There’s a hd texture patch project for persona 3 FES that gives a lot of the same quality of life changes and more. This is still a nice version to own on the switch but a better one is out there for free if you don’t mind emulation 👀
It's sad that in the age of remakes, we haven't seen one for this game. One where all the content is present, AMVs included. Hopefully one day we'll see it happen.

I didn't expect anything beyond a port of a p3p version, which largely stayed the same, anyway. And for $20, you can't go wrong.
Beyond excited to pick up both of these games on my Nintendo Switch. The lack of a physical release is dissapointing though..... I thought we would at least get an Asian english or japanese physical release avaliable for importing. But Atlus just dosent want to hook us up like that.... 😥
No, they want to release at later day, and wanted people to buy it twice, like the FF Pixel Remaster BS, just wait and you will see

I hated the Answer in FES. But yes I can agree with it being the definitive version of the game. I loved FES overall and it's one of the best games I ever played.
Does anyone actually like the Answer? I couldn't even finish it tbqh. Just watched the ending online back in the day.
I never finished the Answer either. I played for a long time, but it never became fun. Too bad - the story was interesting.

I am so excited to be able to play my favorite Persona game again at last. While I still own a PSP, it was never a pleasant gaming experience. Persona 3 has some of my favorite Persona designs for party members of the entire Persona series.

When I played this I almost dropped it with its point and click style of selecting where to go. After beating it I realized it saved SO much time with this setup and I didn't spend time wondering where to go or how to get there like I did p4 and p5.
P3 always was my favorite. While I enjoyed 4's Scooby Gang, and 5 oozed style, 3 is just so... Dark, and is still, imo, the most unique of the bunch. Personally, I like the menu driven school/town - imo it feels more respectful of my time than forgetting where something is and running all over hell to find it. But, I've also been playing lots of drpgs lately, so... Take that for what you will.
You serious. Out of the three, it is the most faulty in terms of pacing and respecting time. It’s the emptiest of the three games, and is much less dark than the Persona 2 games, with more questionable aspects. Not to mention a good degree of that darkness is offset by its flat human Villains, unthreatening Main Shadows and unnecessary deaths that regular people who have Personas would not allow.
@egbertmilton4003 sorry I shared an opinion. I also like Disgaea 2 better than Disgaea 5, which I'm told is wrong, too. And, get this - I think the most recent Saints Row is the best too, because I love its aesthetic and its got just the right level of content to make me happy for an hour or so before I move on to something else. But that's wrong too, according to the wise council of the internet. I'm going to respect my time even more by leaving this at that.

@Dan Wallace - fully agree. Persona 3 is my favorite SMT title. I consider Persona 5 the best SMT game as it realizes the concept better and is more playable than any other title in the series, but I just love the cast and story of Persona 3.
As for the menus - while I did miss the map playing on my sad battered PSP, it was a lot faster to find things.

Too bad that they didn’t make a definitive version combining FES and Portable. I loved FES back in the day and played about half of Portable on PSP with the new female route but it never grabbed me as much as playing FES on PS2. It was my first game in the series so I will always have a special love for P3 over the others.
Think I just download Persona 3 FES to the steam deck. The PS2 emulation on it is amazing.
As a fan of FES and the original P3, I couldnt get into this PSP version. It just doesnt have the same "vibe" and atmosphere the original did. Its a real shame they went with this one. As such, I can only hope they come to their senses eventually and remaster FES, maybe by adding the one good thing (FEMC) portable had going for it over the others.
Great middleground between modern Persona and old Megaten Persona.

If I'm going to get one between P3P and P4G, which is the one to go first? I was planning on getting the SMT 3HD and V but it's not on sale in Japan eShop as of this moment.

One question I have with this release is if the audio is HD. I've been looking at so many Persona 3 songs on UA-cam and via roms and it always feels low quality and I want to hear the full music on a home theater
From what I’ve heard, based on a different video is that the audio is lower quality than the original release of Persona 3 Portable. Im not 100% sure if that’s true because I’m not getting this version at all. The moment they announced the Portable version is where i sealed my wallet away from this game. Also another criticism is hearing is the art has some pixelation due to the AI upscaling. I can still see the art looking good on the screen of the Nintendo Switch but if you were to blow it up on a bigger screen I can see the problem especially since the game was made for the PSP originally.

I’m really trying to complete this, but it seems like it never gets going. I’m 5 full moons in and I’m struggling to care. 4 & 5 hooked me from the start, but this one has yet to do anything to invest me in the narrative.

Disappointment, no FES Version or like Night Dive with Powerslave, a FES / Portable Hybrid. Good Thing it's on Gamepass. Back to "Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES" on me Steamdeck. (There is even a hacked PS2 Version out there in the Wild... that has controllable Characters.)
Should I go portable with the switch or trophies with the PS4? AaaaAAaaahh!

I'm going with the Switch. I would have gone with Steam, but my lack of a good PC controller and the addition of 3rd Party DRM turned me off of it.

Persona 3 is my favourite in the franchise and it's a shame it didn't get the port it deserved. I played the FES version through twice and will likely be skipping this.

It’s a shame they didn’t take this as a chance to add the female protagonist to P3Fes instead. Persona 3 has always been my favorite in the series but P3P lacks immersion. Fes also had the best intro song in my opinion
I think this was meant as a cheaper port as opposed to a definitive edition, which is a shame but what can you do.
I don't think there was ever any chance of some sort off super edition that combined the best parts of Fes and P3P. They'd have to redo the anime cutscenes for the female protag and stuff like that and that just ain't gonna happen.
