Sonny calls Captain Shears to report in while the Lombardi family is having dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Voices:
Matthew Gafford - Falco and Carlo Lombardi
Tiana Camacho - Tina Lombardi
Vinny Vinesauce - Sonny Van Der Küt
Joshua Tomar - Captain Shears
Does the Italian music sound like the SF64 select screen or is that just me?

DOES SPACE AUSTRALIA HAVE RED PEOPLE!?
Nice one
Carlo staring despairingly into his soup as he loses his spoon is the most relateable thing I've seen all week
Oh, my gosh i didn’t notice that until just now!
Bro noooo that’s sad. I love the level of detail put in the show.
Maybe there was a shark in his soup & it ate his spoon
woooooow, I watched episode two at least four times and never caught that.
You just _know_ Fred was giggling his head off when he got the idea to do it, too.
So this is why Falco is always so grumpy
And from where is derived his strict sense of SPACE JUSTICE.

Italian american falco is great
Madonne!
They gotta hit that woah more like Tony and Carmella do in The Sopranos
you mean Falco?
Falco, ti prendo a schiaffoni se non impari a moderare i toni!
My mom is Italian American and her maiden name was Falco, and her brothers name is Carlo lol. This pretty much nails her parents too.
The gold chain, the hair, the foul mouth father. This is the most Italian thing since the Sopranos
Matt actually based his appearance here on a panel depicting young Falco from the Nintendo Power 1993 Star Fox comic. Trufax.

It even kinda looks like the diner from the finale of Sopranos
First episode Tony is crying over the Space Birds leaving his pool to go fight in some space war.
Those ducks meant so much to him.
Falco's dad is wearing the same shirt as Tony in the finale as well.

Man everyone has such weirdass parents in this series.. I love how realistic it is.
(also the face expressions and subtle changes are so captivating!)
Parents are seldom perfect, and I'm glad this show reflects that.
Idk, James seems alright despite the hook hand.
Like I forgot which scene from this but I think it's wolf's dad and he's also very standoffish and stern, making it weird for the kids. Feels like a familiar childhood memory I didn't personally have, down to the rooms the scenes take place in
Welcome to the 60s. This is how adults of the time were.
I'll take them over parents now. I love this shows portrayal's.
When Carlo slams the table, you can see his spoon fall in his soup. I fuckin love the amount of detail in the animation.
He even looks back down at it all miffed. Then refocused his attention back to the convo. They really didn't have to. but those little things, man...
All the little details are amazing, like Falco taking a bit of time to swallow what was in his beak before continuing
And the sound effect that comes with it.

I love how Falco's voice cracks a bit on "that's the friggin' guy though!"
Genuinely my favorite line and delivery in this absolute gem of a clip.
No wonder Falco was so stuck up to Vinny in Breath of the Wild.
Vinny stole his scootah.
What a bacanuge.
Wait, by "Vinny" do you mean Vinny Vinesauce?
Yes.
It sounds so obvious now, I'm surprised I didn't notice before.

Colt Mason holy shit man. I thought this was supposed to be some PG 13 series but that line had me dying.
0:15 The little detail of Falco's dad dropping the spoon and reacting to it is soooo good
It reminds me of that bit from "Pyro Paints", where the Spy spills his cigarettes.
I love how Falco's eyes scan from each of the thugs one at a time until he sees the guy who ripped him off, *then* he flips his shit. This is some thoughtful animation as always!
Gotta love how this guy takes something as unassuming as Falco's Italian surname and turns it up to eleven.
The episode is taking a long time but it's worth it. Every scene you've put out is absolute gold. Keep it up!
Indeed
It's like waiting for wine 🤗
True. Great art can't be rushed. It takes time and effort (and of course money) to make something a masterpiece, especially in animation.
Perfection takes time and if anybody knows that, it's this guy right here.
Just a little longer lol

Reminds me of both sides of my family, who are predominantly Italian Americans (especially my mother’s side).
For real
I'd never even stopped to take in that Falco's surname is Lombardi
An Italian name
That he'd been at least in concept a space Italian bird-man this entire time lol
@ClericOfPholtus Falco is canonically a former Gang member.
Looks like the Italian in him runs very strongly lol

It's a good way to be recognizable but still keep your real name private. Very smart on Vinny's part.
So glad to see this scene done. You worked hard on it to get it just right, especially with those reflections of the telephone booth outside.
Nice to see you here
Hi, I’m the 69th like :)
Why do you have to be everything that Starfox needs?
Because Ninten-won’t.
Gandhi said "Be the change you wish to see in Nintendo."
Nintendo can be so behind in areas.
He's the hero that Star Fox deserves.
@@onlythequestion Don't forget his most important quote, "Don't get a DMCA takedown from Nintendo."
I like the idea that his parents took him out to the restaurant to help him feel better after the thievery, and then this interaction occurs.
This might be one of the most real things in animation I've ever seen. And it's in a Star Fox animation of all things.

_Family Affairs: The Lombardi Family_
"Now do you have any proof?"
"Wh...... no..."
I love that bit lmao.
I like this view of my favourite bird. The way his dad treats him definitely reflects later on his personality
The most amazing parts of your storytelling include the fact that you don’t rush anything in your scenes, and you include all the little details that make characters come alive.
I love that they're Italian-American Brooklynites (or at least this universe's equivalent of Brooklyn) it fits Falco's personality and surname well.
guess that explains hwy Falco is such a fun guy in the games.
I don't blame him. I'd be sort a dickish if some dude stole my scooter
This clip has started rising up in my favorites over the past year or so. I'm not even sure why, but just something about Italian-American Falco and his family just tickles me.
It is so weirdly fascinating to see a down to earth scene in a space series.
God damn the attention to detail in this animation is amazing, watching the clip back multiple times and I always find something new to look at each time. Keep up the amazing job
Uhhh I mean *Burp
Another fun little bit of detail in this: Falco originally starts yelling with his mouth full, and takes the time to swallow before he continues after he yells "HEY!"
He encapsulated all the family dinners I used to have; I love this guy
This explains so much about Falco...
0:13 I just realized that the dad looses his spoon right here, so many details!
So far, every dad in this series seems to be a rough disciplinary figure that silences their kids. It makes it even more compelling since this is Star Fox and they grow up into fighter pilots that take and give orders. So excited to see them defending their values and finding more self worth
I think every good father figure has a good amount of discipline, but also shows that they are proud when they are proud of their children. While we havnt seen much (and we might not see any) of that second part, i like to think these dads are good parents all around.
What about James?
Umm...except they are all mercs who LEFT the corneria military to start their own thing
@@Matanumi ohh I gotta get my Starfox lore back. Been a while.
It's a good day when you get a notification from this channel
I love how you made them all look like 1970/1980s in attire. His fathers hold rimmed glasses mixed with Falco and his Mom's workout head bands were just amazing. Great stuff, and Falco being Italian (at least that's the impression I got) seemed pretty believable. I think maybe it's because his VA from most of the games sounds like he's got that Italian accent and slang. Falco being raised by a Mafia family would make sense with how tough and rough he acts and sounds.
So wait, is this like a Italian family now? Aight then.
Lombardi kind of gives it away :P
Yeah. He said he based them on the Sopranos
Definitely sounds like my family lol
Lombardi?
@@onlythequestion That's Falco's last name.
"Do ya have any proof?"
*"YEAH, THEY GOT MY SCOOTER!"*
"Take that!"
"Shut up and eat your fucking Fazool!"
Best funny line ever, also like that Falco and his family are Italian.
I have watched this like 50 times now for two reason:
1. Its amazing and I love the family dynamic
2. Im still trying to figure out what a bacanuge is 😵
I wonder who's better: Nights or Edgeworth.
Bacanuge means racket
Bacanuge is a Italian word
His face at 0:16 is amazing. That should be an emote.
Shock and utter disbelief
I'm blown away at the detail, e.g. Falco chewing his food, stopping to swallow right before speaking, it's amazing. It's almost like it's rotoscoped, which I don't think is possible given the animal anatomy!
Them being space Italian-Americans works on multiple levels since Falco's people really did emigrate to the Lylat System from a decaying civilization that was once the centre of a sprawling empire that left fancy ruins all over the place.
Falco’s dad has a cross, does that mean he’s a devout space catholic?
It explains why falcos parents had a problem with falco using God's name in vain lol
*BUT THAT’S THE FRIGGIN GUY THO!!!!!!!!!!*
If Slippy’s parents aren’t just two really buff Slippies I’ll be mildly disappointed
We've actually seen Slippy's dad in the games, in fact we've seen more of his family than Fox's
That changes nothing
A Kirby Obsessee I mean his dad doesn’t look jacked unless he’s like Ned Flanders and he’s hiding it
That’s how they best Andross, Slippy reveals that he has a 32 pack under his shirt and he sends Andross home in a barrel
We saw Slippy's dad being interrogated in another video
So that's why Falco says, "Hands off my bread" in smash.
0:10 when you see someone venting in Among Us & no one believes you.
A Fox in Space is what I dreamed Starfox of being. Following it since its inception is amazing. Not slighting "Don't call me Starfox", it was an amazing episode with some much detail I had to re-watch it a few times to see everything; but the level of detail between this clip and the first episode is astonishing.
I love this series and can't wait to see it come to fruition
0:12 that reaction. I don’t know why but it’s legit a very realistic and well written reaction. Like it just feels natural
Italian American Falco family...? Interesting!

i mean falco has kind of been from space Brooklyn
Lombardi is an Italian surname. So it's fitting!
This needs to be a spin off or at least have one episode dedicated to them
Everyone's acting and reactions in this are so genuine. It's so good. I'm impressed.
The accents give off the stereotypical New York City family vibe. I dig it.
God damn, the dialogue between the Lombardi family feels so real and natural.

The look of Falco’s face when they ask if he has any proof....😂😂 “Well....no..but-“
As someone who grew up in Lombardy, Italy, I can confirm that you can get away with bike theft as long as the kid doesn't have any proof.

Thank you for not giving.up on this project. So glad to see your updates from time to time.
Very well acted, somehow it’s very realistic. Also loved Vinny’s role as the bandicoot.
This animator has singlehandedly done more for the Star Fox franchise than Nintendo has in the last 15 years.
I'd go as far to say 17 years unless we don't discount Wolf in Brawl, then yeah I guess 15
Every time he releases a new clip, I watch it a minimum of 10 times. Lord knows how many times I`ll watch the full episode when it eventually comes out.

"Falco, honey, you don't want your father getting in trouble again."
Implying Falco's dad already went to bat for him once before and probably got the law involved. I'd wager they said something along the lines of "next time make sure there's proof," hence the preoccupation with it.
I can't help but notice that pretty much everyone in this series has good dads. Fox, Wolf, Falco, Slippy, heck even Andrew (Andross' nephew) seemed pretty well put-together.
I assumed it meant his dad did time.
