Kelsey Lewin heya Kelsey!

Hi
Interesting to see how (Singer cartridge aside) all the games had very high production value. All either had innovative mechanics at the time, fluid animation, fun gameplay or all of the above.
I actually found it neat about how similar looking Wendy: Every Witch Way looks to Shantae. Of course, I would say without a doubt that WayForward was a Midas with how good looking their games looked on the GBC.
So why is MGS not on here? All of the above, and has a pretty hefty asking price, there's a copy on ebay right now for $1,500
This list is not accurate at all if we are naming the RAREST games. Only Singer would make a true top 5 rarity list.
Shante is much more common than Space Marauder, for example.

The Game Boy Color had a mobile phone adapter and a sewing machine! I repeat, a sewing machine that come with a game card, where you choose a sewing pattern, and the machine sews the pattern!
i heard that from avgn
AVGN reference!
Kinda Like I Am A Teacher Mario Sweater
No Shit sherlock
I WANNA BE SEDATED BY THE GAMEBOY!!!!
Me: wow. GBC games aren’t too bad in terms of price.
Shantae: hold my beer
Heh heh heh... I may have seen that at a garage sale, but didn't buy it.
Thankfully, for just $5, Shantae is available on the 3DS Virtual Console.
You can actually find some used carts or repo carts for around 12 to 30 dollars on Amazon
@@jackson2531 it's not illegal to buy a used game online or at any store at all!!! As for the repo carts, it's illegal for people to sell them but the buyer gets in no trouble at all
@@jackson2531 well luckily for you, you can't get arrested for buying a repo cart when somebody else is selling it to you
I would love to learn more about GBC games with exclusive GBA features
Yea me too!!
I know that the oracle series has an in-game store exclusively for if you play on the game boy advance
69 likes nice
shantae has extra content on gba (if u can get a copy of the game)
I actually used to play Survival Kids back then, tho it was emulated.
Afaik there's also sequels on the DS but it's called Lost In Blue, cmiiw.
Also GBC Shantae is a classic.
there is also survival kids 2 (japan only)
Seems interesting. Sadly now I'm going to have to buy all 3 games but some popular youtuber talks about it and then it will shoot up in price.
@@TheConuresrule the european version is called "stranded kids". Also not cheap but may not shoot up in value after an American youtuber talks it up
Just make sure to never play the Wii sequel of Lost in Blue. The DS games are decent but the Wii game is a joke.
Might have to check that ds game out
Awesome video, Drew. I never owned a GBC, but this video makes me wish I had. But sewing machine software! Really!!!, haha. I never would have guessed on that.
I never had one either! Have a gameboy advance now.. so can finally play them allllll
During one of "next episode" bits of FLCL, Haruko rambles on about handhelds and mentions GBCs sewing machine capabliries.
My mom used to have that, she took it to goodwill
There was a gbc accsery that put you to sleep
Really good voiceover work! It was crystal clear and transitioned seamlessly into the footage and audio with yourself in the frame
Man, I used to have Survival Kids back in the day! Wish I'd known it was so rare. I would have been sure to keep it. Thanks for the video as always, Drew. Great content!
These are my favorite types of videos from your channel. I love the rarest games segments
Nice to see Res Evil Gaiden on the list. I worked on the title as lead tester.
Ahhh nice1. Ive never seen this game before. Looks great.
GaZ loves Games I have it
Coolio
Y'all shoulda tested it harder 🤣👏🤣
That slider shooting gameplay is wonky
How about Perfect Dark?
I like that game too.
@@tsohgallik nothing wrong with the combat system. We did what we could within the systems capabilities. Maybe you need practice 😉
I watch alot of UA-cam channels at work and your intro is one of if not the only intro that I don't skip.
The gameboy color is so happy to be covered
I guessed Shantae would make it to number #1! I have the VC version which is the easiest way to own it legally, but I got curious a while back to see how much physical copies cost, and was definitely surprised to say the least!
The game didn't even come out of North America, making especially rare elsewhere, relying on import copies only. I know it's very unlikely but I'd love to see a company reprint new copies of Shantae one day. Kinda like the Ducktales NES cart from a few years back.
shantae did release in north america, albeit in very limited quantities.
Yeah, when I said it "didn't come out of North America" I kinda meant that it didn't release elsewhere, like Europe or Japan. So I figured that's why it's even more rare.
Yep, and here I am who did not go for that 300$ + Shipping of a Shantae complete in box about 1,5 years ago...
Just because I thought taxes would be too high and I'll wait for the price to drop...
3 years later, Limited Run Games has reprinted the original Shantae!
Nintendrew, your videos are my go-to for Nintendo collecting. Thank You for that!
GBC is my favorite handheld of all time, so I'm hype to see you do a video on it! :D
It might be worth noting that, like the other Wayforward developed game on the list, Shantae also has exclusive content for the Gameboy Advance. It gives you access to a(n overpowered) transformation dance that turns you into a Tinkerbat. It has the abilities of the monkey and spider while also being able to attack. This transformation was later referenced (and massively toned down) in Shantae: Half-Genie Hero
And with the switch rerelease, you can finally use the tinkerbat transformation on official hardware without taking out a second mortgage.
Dude I love your videos keep up the great work Nintendo truly is the best and so is Nintendrew.
Love this kind of content.
Another great video, Keep up the good work!
The voice over sounded great! Overall quality vid, did not know about the sowing machine!
I love this video so much I can't even begin to count the times I have rewatch this
Just came across your channel and already subscribed and watched 4 videos and im not one to just jump on board without watching a while so im impressed and im enjoying watching more ur deffo better than other gaming youtubers ive seen and dont drone on and on about rubbish ur just quick and snappy to the point and i prefer that also u can be funny at times 👍deffo look forward to watching more 😊
Dang, I had no idea a well known franchise flopped originally. A sewing machine!? That’s cool seems like the gameboy color was able to do everyday chores too, awesome
(plugs a link cable into my singer machine)

Love your videos so much Nintendrew!!!!😀❤
Awesome! I really like that you talked about Shantae, as it really interested me and I wanted to know why it was so rare a few weeks ago. Well, if finally found the answer thanks to you.
Awesome video Drew! I did notice just a tiny difference on your voice over quality. Sounds great! Whatever you did worked
Great videos like usual!
And I love all your videos keep up the good work
Ah yes my favorite kids game: lord of the flies.
Ok good, I wasn’t the only one who saw it.

Pleasant video, good job. Had no idea about Survival Kids.
I knew resident evil was on GameBoy but I never thought that Shantae would be there, but its nice to see where the game first started out #Drewcrew
definitely adding these to my collection, thanks for the video.
I was just about to mention Kelsey's video about the sewing machine.
I remember seeing on on clearance at Big Lots back in the day. If only I could go back to that day, buy one, and squirrel it away somewhere...
i remember my mom buying me survival kids at walmart it was one of those cheap games they didnt bother keeping behind the glass what a gem of a game
I love hearing all the backstory for games like these. I had no idea Shantae was on the GBC and it looks wonderful! Wouldn't mind trying that and Wendy out some day.
I loved the background music from the Gameboy Camera.
Love the intro Drew, niiiice one.
I thought I had a pretty good idea what would be on the list, but a few of those games I definitely never heard of! Great list!
That sewing machine accessory is way ahead of its time, so cool. I like learning about all the niche accessories that the GameBoys and Wii had.
I'm actually shocked to hear the price for Resident Evil. I found that at a local store for only $10. lol
awesome vid drew!! :D
Hey Drew! I just found your channel, and I want to say that I really like your content and your energy :) Keep it up!
Its a nice surprise to see Shantae on this list, Good Video! :)
Great video. Wish you would expand it to top 10 with some honorable mentions. I have learned about games I have never heard of before from you that I will now hunt for my collection
I knew Shantae was going to be number 1 the moment i saw the video in my sub box. I got into the shantae series when i got one of the games on steam and I did a little research to see where the series began and....oh yeah, that's pricy.
Great video as always Nintendrew
I thought you said "that's piracy" which, pun aside, is also accurate.
I had to VC purchase!
Great video!! 👍🏻
Nice video mate!
This video looks good keep up the good work dood :-)
I’m wearing that same N64 shirt right now. It’s one of my favorite shirts.
YES! I'VE WAITED FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS!!! Thanks! Good channel, too.
I really enjoy your vids. Keep it up!
It's so nice to see someone talk about survival kids. It's one of my favorite games
Awesome video!
i love the vids you make i love the top 5 lists
holy crap. that singer set id absolutely insane and beautiful. i dont sew but, the "custom stitching" is just. amazing
Haha, a cheeky little Bup at the sewing machine part I see!
Wendy Every Witch Way looks pretty fun! I would give it a try if I ever stumbled upon it!
Wow, I would have never expected that as the number one title! Ever considered doing one of these videos on non-Nintendo retro consoles like the Genesis, or even the PlayStation?
Harry Warburg Ask Playstasean.
He might do some of the PS ones.
Feels good man I have all of these with a few still in the original box
YOU ARE MY FAVORITE CHANNEL KEEP UP THE GOO WORK
I had RE Gaiden back in the day
I remember picking it up from GameStop back in 05 for around $8...
It was an excellent game!
Glad you included the Singer cartridge - I'd never heard of it before, and probably wouldn't have if you hadn't included it.
that 'survival kid' game actually looked interesting
I hope you got more subs because your videos are too good.
I can never get over how amazing looking shantae is for the game boy color. So impressive.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!
Survival Kids! Amazing game, bought that years ago, my favorite part of my collection, it's really good, Great video.
This channel is underrated tbh
I would have liked to see this list limited to GBC-only games, as #5 and #2 are backwards compatible with older Game Boy systems. Still a nice list!
Dang, I can’t keep track when the video was released from how cool this guy is
Game Boy Camera music makes me immeasurably happy :3
Great, when I bought shantae and the pirate's curse for the 3ds I got a cheap loose cartridge only version and a sealed one, a bit sad to see how expensive the first game is but anyways! Great video man!! keep up the good work
I own the Izek sewing machine. Fun story: my mom is a seamstress who took little 6 year old me to a sewing expo/demo for Singer products in 2000, where I got to embroider and stuff a little pillow with the GB Color-controlled machine (still have it too). I tracked a used set down in 2016 and got it. I suck at sewing, but this machine is awesome and I hope to learn more &teach my son how to use it someday.
Dude, I want that sewing machine now!
Didn't know that existed!
I love your videos dude
I never knew shantae was on the gbc until now great video
I'm moderately surprised you don't have Shantae. I decided to start collecting them since they ALL go up in value. I have the GBC game, and I have sealed copies of both Risky's Revenge and the Pirate's Curse on PS4. I also have a sealed Pirate's curse for 3DS, and sealed copies of Half-Genie Hero for both PS Vita and Nintendo Switch. Probably not as impressive as a complete N64 collection, but I'm proud of it
Survival Kids looks fun! I can't believe I've never heard of it and I kinda want to buy it.
Top 5 rarest items in ur collection??
Yeah like what about metal gear solid for game boy color it’s worth about 60$ loose
@@smobilson1359 I'm so glad that I got that one a couple years ago for 30 bucks knowing that the price was going to sky rocket.
@@smobilson1359 Holy shit, I was just thinking the same thing! A couple of years back I left the cartridge in my Gameboy, which I left in an old car I was getting rid of, still haven't forgiven myself lol
@@chesspunk489 when I bought a used copy $30 would have been considered a rip-off, I wonder when the general public finally caught wind it existed?
Død Beverte I think it was as the retro craze picked up in 2010 is when people realized it was rare then a few years later people figured out that it was a fun game too.
Yeah new videos thank you giving us awesome videos. Can you do more with the GBA and super Nintendo
All those Gameboy Camera jams in this episode... hyper-nostalgia for me personally!
Great Video.
I really want to buy Survial Kids now. It reminds of Lost in Blue Shipwrecked except not garbage and without bad motion controls.
I just picked up Wendy a few weeks ago and it’s a super fun title!
Your videos are awesome! You saved me from buying a copy of Shantae!
Awesome Video
hi nintendrew i'm starting to collect stuff like u cause ur cool
Hey, I happen to have the Izek cart! I have a complete Izek that I use to stitch my clothes together every so often. I just wish I had a convenient way to dump the ROM for others. I managed to score my set for about $180.
Amazing video! I really love the way your videos are presented! 😁
Amazing vid
I got the Resident Evil game from Goodwill along with a Gameboy Advance and a ton of other semi-pricey games (Pokemon Yellow) for less then the price you had for it! Wow, I remember finding it weird when I saw it that there was one on the Gameboy, I had no idea it was 55 dollars!
Love the new intro
Whenever you do a list like this, I pull out my collection and throw each non-listed game aside like a decrepit gambler throwing away lottery tickets. ;-)
LOL
Survival Kids looks awesome, and I may have to go ahead and pick it up sometime. I'd played the Lost in Blue games from Konami on the DS, but never knew they had even deeper origins than that.
Awesome Video Drew! And I thought an original copy of Pokemon gold was rare XD
All these games look solid! Even the sewing machine thingy looks pretty innovative even though it's not a game
I played Survival Kids way back when. Found a copy for about £20 last year and picked it up again. Good times. Another one I hardly ever see is Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Coby. Considering how big the first warriors game was for me I was surprised that the sequels both passed me by
Love the shirt Drew:) I have the same one but it's gray. Nice vid:)
Kinda glad that I got the VC version of Shantae on my New 3DS XL as the cost of the physical cartridge runs about the same as an Nvidia GTX 1070 Founders edition. Eye popping.
