Hey guys, thanks for watching! Let me know what you thought of the video. :)
Personally I was really surprised that Earthbound has fallen from the top 5 most valuable titles. Have you played any of these games?
Nintendrew there all awesome DaManWithDaPlan
I actually own Megaman X3. I picked it up for $50 six years ago and continue to consider selling it. I’ve wanted to play Hagane for awhile, so I’m gonna have to emulate it. I’ve heard part of the reason it jumped so much in price is because Cinemassacre mentioned it as one of their favorite hidden gems and demand shot up after that.
Megaman x3 was my favorite in the series
The other day I saw a cartridge (no box) of Earthbound for 200 bucks
Earthbound has possibly dropped in price because it is on the SNES classic.
Years ago I sold a Super Nintendo with Link to the Past, Mario RPG, and Megaman X 3/4 $60. Looking back, that might be one of the dumbest mistakes I've ever made in my entire life
LdeinerProductions oof
@@littleman7514 he said 33333333333333/44444444444444444444444 by that he meant that he doesn't remember
It was 100% Mega Man X3. The fourth one was only ever on Ps1.
@@bandband4498 that’s a yikes for him it’s such an expensive title now
Dude your room looks like a tiny library for nerds
It’s perfect
Blue Shell Nah, it ain't perfect...
It's more than perfect, it's sexy.
I wish I had a quarter of the stuff he has...
So is your profile pic
My dream to collect SNES games in box is currently in the stage of: "This is too expensive and will never happen"
Haha exactly... Thanks for checking out my vid!
What bugs me is the year it came out I had a brand new suoer metroid in box wrapped though how much played it cant complain about opening it
It was like that when this all came out. Too expensive. Plus you really relied on what ever Toys "R" Us; KB Toys or what ever your local retailer had sucked up. So you did not see different titles in different regions of the world due to demographic and taste of said region.
This so, so much. I've recently started thinking about, and maybe considering selling off either all of, or most of my older video game collections :( It's this fact, compounded with the fact that I've been trying my best to keep up with video games developers/producers and what ever is newer or current. I have lists of 20+ or 30+ games each (depending on the console), for consoles like the NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, N64, PS2, Gamecube, Wii and PS3 that I STILL want to buy, and as time keeps moving on and on, availability comes and goes, and games just get harder and harder to either, find new, or remain affordable. Anyway my current interests are getting the games I missed out on for the Wii U, as well as buying a refurbished Wii U sometime this year (a console I completely missed my chances on back when it was in production and supported), and I just got a Switch for Christmas, so.... I could definitely make a nice profit on the stuff I've collected and hoarded for the past 25+ years (just ongoing since I was a kid), but it's so hard to want to part with any of it :( But yeah, once upon a time, having the 3 Mega Man X games, even just the cartridges, was a dream.... and it probably will still be until the day I die.
there are people who sell reproduction boxes, exactly like the original, brand new, and if you want reproduction new cassettes. only way to tell is if you open the cartridge. it's the next best solution to what you want to do
I own Final Fight Guy, and I did actually buy it when Blockbuster was moving out their SNES stuff. Think I paid 5 bucks for it. I'm no rarity collector, but I did luck out on a few things.
I lucked out and got Hagane for 50 cents at Blockbuster since the local store near me was clearing out their SNES and Genesis stuff - and sold it a few years back for $400.
I had no idea that Aero Fighters was THAT valuable. That's just crazy... Great video, Drew!!
Smash JT I literally just found this channel! And here you are lol
Nintendrew is the man, Jay! He's been a huge help to my channel and given me some incredible pointers on improving video quality. All-around great UA-camr and human being!
Smash JT well I'm
Glad I found him!
i knew this game as sonic wings , and i played it a lot in my ps2 snes emulator
EarthBound can be up to $1060 USD
I am going to age myself, but I couldn't wait for the day the SNES was released in 1991.
Love how you got so much information about these releases in a short amount of time.
I am not one for long videos unless they are play throughs.
Keep up the great work!
I really never seen a Nintendo nerd like this ever since CND thank you
I like this channel 100x more than CND
This was a very interesting video! Good job dude!
You are a very interesting dude! 😎
WHY ARE YOU EVERYWHERE?!?!
Hey bbq!
F in the chat for only 3 replies
A man's word is really worth nothing on the internet but for what it's worth, I can confirm Hagane was available at retail. I bought my copy from a local Walmart using money I got for my birthday that year. I want to say it was either the summer of '96 or '97.
So happy your channel is growing so fast!
Really liking these videos about rare things! Hope you can make more!
I've heard of all these titles, knew they where rare, have played them via emulation many times over the years, but damn man never knew they where so freaking expensive lol!
Oh boy! Time to get some of these- wait... Dangit! Why do I have to be broke?!
One step closer to the 5 rarest Nintendo games...
Interesting way this list was put together. Putting competition carts and the like would have been predictable and boring, so this was refreshing to see. Great job! :D
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
NIce to see I have at least of one those titles! Great content as always!
I just turned off my snes and when I went on UA-cam I found that one of my favorite UA-camrs posted this
Awesome video! Super Nintendo is definitely one of my all time favorite consoles and this was a very insightful video. I would not have guessed some of the games. I expected Chrono Trigger and Earth Bound to be on it for sure.
Chrono Trigger is not rare, people think they hold a plastic gold mine and try to sell their copies for a fortune. The number of copies for sale on ebay and just about everywhere is astounding, the opposite of rare.
Great Channel, Subscribed! 😊
This is a excellent video,Very informative and nicely done.Keep up the great work
Your commentary is so smart and entertaining!
You’re dope! How do you not have more subs?
Great video love your content
Fun video! Thanks for sharing.
I used to play Aero Fighters in a ski lodge in northern Michigan. Dang those were the days.
It's great to see that you included Megaman X3 when no one ever has, awesome work!
I just discovered this channel and it was a pleasure
Congrats on your channel! It's very well done! btw, Izzy Nobre brought me here.
Speaking of "big jumps" I feel like it was just a year ago when you only had a couple hundred subscribers, right? I remember from when you commented on my N64 Not For Resale video. You really went for it and pushed tons of videos out there. Nice job!
Great video man. Now I'm kicking myself for not buying MMX3 when I was a kid.
HellScream just buy a copy from Japan. They are dirt cheap here. Just like Chrono Trigger only being about $3.
I got lucky as hell and found it in a old motel when I was like 6...I kept renting it until they sold it to my dad
The snes never gets old
Great video bro!
Nice vid well done mate
Hagane is a tuff game to beat! Great video!
This episode is LIT
Happy Friday
Very interesting, some of the games look really good.
I'm glad my copy of Pocky & Rocky 2 has been in a safe place all these years. I had no idea it was so valuable.
Why dont you have more subs man.Love your vids keep it on!
Your room is awesome!
I have final fight guy I remember buying it when I was like 7 years old from a blockbuster that was moving location bought it for $10 it still has the blockbuster label on it
Great video dude! May I ask what place earthbound would have been?
I own a boxed copy of Hagane, I bought it from a different rental store that was right across the street from my local block buster (presumably they got it from them) and paid 14$ for it back in 2003, the box its self isn't in great condition and it lacks the pack in stuff inside it but I can confirm it is one of the most fun to play rare games out there with over a dozen unique game play elements that would have been the selling point for any one game back in the day. Even though I could make a good buck off it now, I refuse to sell it until I finally beat it because damn is it hard XD *UPDATE* well life trumps nostalgia, I sold the game before I beat it to pay for a puppy for me and my Fiancé and I don't regret it one bit (got a good 200$ for it, baring in mind I need fast cash so I didn't want to go through selling it online)
Cool snes games keep up with great content
Wow, kind of amazed that Aerofighters was up there...I played it heaps as a kid and completed it a couple of times...
I own a copy of Star Fox Super Weekend in very good condition. I'm so glad my dad never sold it.
I started collecting cause of you thanks
Luv ur intro and always will
Great video.
I remember playing aero fighter in an old cabinet as a kid at this Hobbie electric train themed restaurant in down town akron. It was right next to street fighter and one of the ninja turtles titles. Didn't know it made a port to console. Pretty interesting.
geez, didn't realize X3 had become that expensive, glad i've already got it in my collection!
I've played all five of these games. I actually owned Hagane at one point.
Unfortunately, it was stolen, and I had no way of finding out who stole it.
Nintendrew, you seem like a cheerful kindhearted person.
Great video congrats
Damn can't wait to be able to share my music with you
I think a major reason for Mega Man X3's demand is the fact that Zero's such a fan-favorite character... and the fact that X4 is where a lot of people think the MMX series started to go downhill fast.
Basically, it's the only competent MMX game where a lot of peoples' favorite character is playable.
I like these lists
Wow. Thank you for this vid. I own Megaman X3. I had no idea!
Nintendrew is the Roy Orbison of video game commentary.
Came here just to see if Hagane was on your list! I’ve had it since a child although mine has a few blockbuster stickers on the cart and probably isn’t worth as much. I love the game though it’s definitely challenging but very fun as well.
Just would like to mention this to anyone curious about titles that weren't on store shelves, but the rarest title if we count stuff not on store shelves is Powerfest 94, which was another big competitive gaming event like the Nintendo World Championships was, except not nearly as well known and is the one of the few titles I have yet to see on places like eBay (I have seen original World Championship carts and Campus Challenge go up on eBay multiple times).
Was Aerofighters available as a rental much? There's a vertical SHMUP I played as a kid that I really want to find again. We rented it from Hollywood video and I've never been able to figure out which it was.
so mad, i used to have a copy of Aero Fighters back in the day. When i was in 20s, my brother gave all our SNES stuff to a family with less than we had and it was gone forever
Nintendrew is the best Nintendo UA-camr!
Top 5 rarest wii games! I love this series
It seems it has come down in price, but back in 97' I sold a copy of Ogre Battle for a used PS1, the PS1 version of the game, a memory card and a second controller from a Game Trader, or someplace like that. That game was ultra rare back then.
Where can I find all the games to collect? Would really like to buy those that are only available thru rental.
Thank you for the video
Thank you for the comment
ive always play aero fighter's copy when i was a kid
really bring alot of memories;)
I just like seeing the golden cartridge in the thumbnail
I had no idea of the value of hagane until one day I saw it mentioned on a Metal Jesus Rocks video. I was watching and thinking, wait a sec, don't I have that? Sure enough there it was! Now it's one a few snes games I held onto. Parted with a lot of games as of late due to lack of time and space. Perhaps time to part with Hagane!
Wow, I looked through my SNES library and had a copy of Hagane! Holy hell.
1:36 The reason why mega man x3 is so rare is because capcom had very little CX-4 chips (the enhancement chip used in the game's cartridge) available. And yes you are right, it came out in the time where the SNES was at the end of it's life.
What about earthbound will be the new what about call of duty
Hahaha probably
What the hell are you trying to say mogwai?
Yeah, EarthBound’s like at least $350
EarthBound is not rare, it's pricey for other reasons.
Shoutouts to Simpleflips.
Neat, I own Aerofighters, Final Fight guy and Mega Man X3. A few years back I had the chance to buy an almost mint condition cart of Hagane for about a hundred bucks and I hate myself for not getting it. Oh well :(
I couldn't find this game title anywhere during my search. It's a SNES(most likely) game. A deep blue background mall. A giraffe looking tall figure pushing a trolley around the blue mall, going over toys/factory. Objective is to pick up collectables/items. I got it from a HK shop, the man sells SNES floppy disks back in 1990s.
Will you do a top 5 rarest wii?
Good video
I was standing in line at Gamestop in 2002 the day Metroid Prime released. There was a long line because a Final Fantasy game was released on PS2 the same day. While I was standing in line there was a bin with about 400 snes games. I grabbed as many as I could carry. I passed on Aero Fighters but I got Ninja Gaiden Trilogy Mega Man X3 Castlevania Dracula X and a few more for $50. I ended up buying a bunch more SNES games in the following months. I have 80 SNES games most of which are going for a small fortune nowadays.
I used to have Aero Fighters; but I traded it for a Mega Zord back in grade school. Insane.
The main thing of Final Fight Guy is that they changed Cody for Guy. Import is and was always an option for games.
From what I remmember hearing, the reason why Megaman X3 is so expensive is because at the time there was a short for the chips the game used, and made it so that not that many cartridges could be made. This didn't affect the Playstation or Saturn versions of the game though, it was only specifically the SNES version.
To the left shelf under the r.o.b. and nes what type of shelf is that with the nes games?
I need a room like your’s. Just with some more dogs.
I’ve been looking for a SNES game that I used to rent from blockbuster as a kid, I’ve long forgotten the title and I’ve never seen anyone play it on video or anything. All I remember is that it was like an F-16 fighter pilot game that used mode 7 extremely liberally and the you had to take out targets on the air and ground with bombs and missiles in a seemingly 3D environment. It was an extremely advanced game for the system at the time, and I remember renting it countless times, but have not seen or heard hide or hair of the game since then. Any help of figuring out this mystery would be greatly appreciated.
I bought Megaman X3 (used) about 20 years ago for $60. I thought that was expensive then, but it was a game I've always wanted. Its condition isn't perfect, but I am proud to say I own it!
My family owns a lot of nes and snes cartridges. I doubt any of them are rare, but its nice to dream.
Hey nintendrew i have a question would Nintendo make a wii classic and what games should be on it
I have final fight guy, i didnt knew it was so expensive
cool collection!!greetz
Drew, Where'd Crono Trigger be placed on the commonality and price list? My dad is looking for it, so that's why I'm asking. lol
Never heard of any of them except X3 but one of my old friends has, or used to have, MegaMan X3. There's also a copy of it at my local game store for $190. From what I remember it was a great game.
I remember googling Mega Man back in '99 and found out there was an X3. As a kid I failed to find a copy locally.
Still have X, X2, and 7... But no X3 :(
Well, there's always Japanese imports, which are USUALLY less expensive than most NA titles
COUGHFinal fight toughCOUGH
The entire MMX series is kick ass.
Mega Man X3 is actually not that rare, with as many copies made as the previous two, but is in high demand because of many factors revolving around nostalgia. The PC version is much more rare, but no one seems to care.
Amy Carter idk, wasn't any easier to find a copy locally in 2001 than it is today.
Only difference is people asking for $300 on eBay 🤣
I'm very surprised Vortex isn't on this list. Perhaps you could add it to a follow up to another top 5 rare SNES Games?
Other examples are Wild Guns, Run Saber and Clayfighter 2: Judgment Clay. :)
Vortex is super common :) worth less than $10 as well
I'm a Nintendo collector just like you Nintendrew, the rarest games I own are Castlevania Legacy Of Darkness, Harvest Moon 64, Worms Armageddon 64, and Conker's Bad Fur Day. PS, don't ever become a video game scalper.
I have had X3 since I was a kid and still own that cart. I always thought my copy of Earthbound was my most valuable SNES game. Damn!
Fast forward 2022, Kirby's Dream Land 3 has become very scarce, $160 - $250 on the used market. Released in 1997
I was half expecting Wild Guns on this list.
Actually, Megaman X3 is expensive because of the the tech in the cart, very similar to the Super FX chip. It uses lots of wireframe, and is fairly graphicly intense for the SNES. To put it in perspective: It was 90 bucks when it released. Most games were 60.
