I don't think a gold and diamond Gameboy is an accessory. That is more of a case mod. And also, the Playstation to Gameboy cartridge adapter isn't a Gameboy accessory for a Gameboy, it is an accessory for the Playstation...
Its not only a misleading title. The thumbnail shows an arrow pointing on the power led, no accessory or topic was even made regarding the power led. Just report those kind of videos, youtube will do the rest.
The Windows95 Gamer if it dims when the batteries are low then it does indicate battery life. It even has symbols next to the light indicating brightest to dimmest.
no, but you should know better than to talk to a kid that way. Also, I probably am smarter than you in most of this. Don't believe me? well, everyone is stubborn. Next time, don't say dirty words in front of me, you look stupid that way.
oh, srry I get confused my game boy does that but it only gets dim right when the batteries are going dead. I experienced this when the original batteries that came with my game boy color finally went dead. Thank you for not cussing like Jordan McKinnon did.
This channel sucks and they will still get revenue even while plagiarising. Therefore we don't care about that, we care about expressing our frustration towards TheGamer because what they are doing is such a scummy thing by copying off others videos. By actually liking the content you are showing that you support plagiarism which I would hope that you and others like you don't.
I love old game systems and they are usually not to spendy and great games for a lot of them. What’s better than having it when you are ten? Having it when you’re 35
You also forgot the gameboy printer which was essential for Pokémon if you caught them all. We didn’t have Etsy back then - and I’m only just finding out now about the glitches. lol The game boy shoe was the most interesting fashion statement. I can imagine KISS rocking out with game boys that said “KISS ARMY” across the screen lol
Holy crap that first one is sick!!! Being able to sew with a game boy is super cool!!! Best part is you can still buy the sewing machine and game boy color even now....man I feel old LOL.
another unknown fact , the gameboy has not just 4 channels for the sound ( two quadrangular , one wave and one noise channel ) but 5 channels : "The 5th channel is an external sound input from pin 31 on the cartridge port. It is there so you can place a synth chip or sample playback chip on a cartridge." " To this date, no cartridges are known to use this functionality. "
Boombox Boy could've been really cool if it was an actual cartridge, where you'd set and select channels on the screen. I'm not sure if it'd be possible, but routing the audio straight to the headphone jack would've also been a smart idea. Basically, it could've made the Game Boy into a Walkman for kids.
Really love the long intros to each topic. Say I was watching a youtube video, and was clicking along with my mouse, and saw a video by the gamer. Before I clicked on the video I decided to get a snack, but what should I get to eat..... 20 minutes later I clicked on the video. Your videos are the exact opposite of twitter. We appreciate that.
There was also some vehicle supporting software released that turned the gameboy into a kind of tuning tool or speedometer. You probably missed it because I don't think they were official products. There was a lot done with the gameboy that only certain fandoms would ever hear about.
This is more releated to the GBA, but there was a 3rd party accessory that could turn your GBA into a fully functional portable TV (called the GBA TV Tuner). It was a bit bulky and could only tune into local channels, but the entire concept was really impressive for being back around 2005, when UA-cam was but a wee lad, Netflix was still mailing DVDs, and smartphones were barely a thing.
The coolest one isn't listed. I saw a guy use a custom cartridge that has a usb, and it was loaded with a music writing program. Dude used it as a musical instrument on stage. It was incredible.
I remember when I got a gameboy way back in the mid 1990's my mum got me a mains adapter so I could use it without having to constantly find batteries to steal. thing was though this mains adapter was incredibly stubborn to get in to the socket on the side of the console properly and even more stubborn to get out. So on one occasion of trying to removing the adapter it broke off leaving the plug stuck in the gameboys socket jammed in so tight and stubborn it was damn near impossible to get out. And just to make things even more fun when this main socket was plugged into the gameboy it somehow cut off its battery power supply so the thing was useless until my dad managed to yank it out with a pair of pliers. had the charger fixed but it broke again shortly after since all the guy did was tape it back together
I think that's the saddest thing I've read all day. Maybe check eBay, hopefully the prices haven't gone too crazy and you can have a piece of your childhood back ;)
I've considered it but theres not really that many gameboy games I want for it. All I used to have on it was two versions of tetris and that mario game were he has rabbit ears
i still have my old gameboy color and it still has a phone battery attached to it after i wired it up in 2007 when i was 12 years old and got sick of wasting my allowance on batteries that light shining a bright orangey red was the best thing in the world when i was a kid
Back in 2003 the game boy was the diagnostic tool used on Peugeot scooters, a cartridge with a cable plugged into the bike to carry out updates and fault finding.. Really great tool back then
"Sony PlayStation Compatibility" Cool, so I can plug a GameBoy cartridge into a PS1 using a 3rd party adap-Uh, I thought this was on things the GameBoy hardware could do.
He didn't mention the Game Boy adapter for the N64, either. They had an adapter that would plug into the memory card/rumble pack slot on the controller and you could put in a Game Boy cartridge and play it that way.
Yeah honestly I would have taken it if it was something amazing like the link port hooking into the PlayStation while you used the Game Boy as a controller and the PlayStation's AV out hooked into the TV (basically the same thing as the GBA running on the GameCube), but the Golden Finger thing is just filler for the list. You know, like half the stuff in the video is.
yeah i just use an android device with an emulator for that lol, don't get me wrong, i love the old GBC and still have one too, but holy crap, i ain't gonna pay for batteries anymore and rechargeables still don't compare to how long a phone can run GB games lol.
Same. I still play some Gameboy Color games, but I use the GBA SP to play them. Some have also become available on the 3DS, so I play them on there too.
Best way to play on the Gameboy color is to be outside when it is sunny! You can barely see the screen when outside with today's handhelds. I still play on mine too but I only have pokemon gold. I have no clue what happens to the rest of the games that we had in my family.
you can buy mod kits online now to put a backlit screen in your gameboy color or gameboy pocket. some soldering is involved but it's not too hard. best of all the mod kits are only a couple bucks. the one site I used had even different color buttons to put in and a mod chip for the Game Boy circuit board to increase the picture and contrast.
I rock Tetris DX almost daily... the DX version is a serious improvement over the original, and with a small patch (which of course I use) it'll bring back the classic Music-A tune we all know. Compatible with all GBs (enhanced for Color, but also works on Pocket and original "DMG"). Biggest fixes for Tetris DX are saved scores/profiles (yeah, save your scores!), and more responsive rapid motion of pieces so you can keep up with higher levels. But I'm grabbing Mission Impossible for that remote feature! Hahaha
I had a BoomBox Boy. You definitely could not listen to it through the speakers. It just used the link port to get power. It was really gimmicky and pointless but I loved it when I had it.
Yeah, most of the GB/GBC accessories where very gimmicky and did not work as advertised, but you felt pretty dope when you had more then a friend. I had the worm light, that was rather useful for gaming when I was supposed to be sleeping on a school night.
Remember the camera and the little printer? We got to make our 90s selves into Minecraft characters and have a little piece of receipt paper to prove it.
I remember my old Gamecube Gameboy player. Got it for christmas because my dad thought it was the GBA link cable (that cable used to connect your gameboy to Pokemon Colosseum or Legend of Zelda Four Swords). Still loved it though.
Lol.. The screen of the ferret had me laughing.. I remember that ad long time ago.. I think the ferret in the pants would be more interesting and informative than this video though sadly
kinda like...well...half of youtube, i'm sure this one in particular is happy you gave them a free view, a comment, and probably a dislike, which as far as youtube(google) are concerned, all mean exactly the same thing, but i mean, you're clearly so intelligent that you already knew that, and you clearly secretly love this channel so much that even after knowing all of that, you still came here and indirectly supported them by telling them how much you don't support them. *slow clap*
Here's a crappy idea for you to feed the troll in your heart and satisfy that waistband in your mind. Go out and buy a game boy listed here in the video and find out for yourself. I mean, hell it ain't that hard to actually do it. Or even better yet, straight up go to Nintendo's official page and look for yourself. Otherwise, stop wasting time and breath and do the work yourself if you're that damn concerned.
granted the sowing machine didnt fly with the kids over last 30 or so. but the program on cartridge and hooking up to machine is alot of work for systems back then and shows how great and what they can do
I'm 12 years old but I still love the gameboy, also have a gameboy color and advance too. My favorite game of all time is Pokemon yellow and I'm trying to beat it still also very few kids still love and play the gameboy, I got made fun of but that still is not going to keep me away from playing the gameboy.
I'm 25yo, still got my atomic purple GCB from 1998, and I still play my copy of Pokemon Yellow I bought with my GBC that year. I support your cause, you are not alone.
here is a little trick. load the video and if the first ADV is a little text box then skip the video to the next yellow part, load the adv then next one...etc untill all are out of the video. then close the TEXT BOX, good job you passed all the ads :) 99% of the time if the first is a text box, this gets only text boxes.
Unfortunately the game boy from the Iraq war is fading out now. I live near NYC and go to Nintendo world often... the day the screen dies completely will be a sad day.
Definitely, but then the 100% integrity of the gameboy will cease to exist. But At least the shell will live on for centuries if you think about it. It's in an airtight glass case.

I remember using some sort of mount that could clip onto the Gameboy. There was a light in it and a see through window so you could play in the dark. Almost forgot about that lol.
Late to the show on this video, but Aprillia, the motorcycle/scooter company, used gameboy colors to program and modify the computers on the sr50 2stroke scooters. Pretty neat that my tool box contains a gameboy for being a mechanic
I remember Nintendo hosting an event at a local mall. Stood in line for hours because the payoff was they would download MewToo onto my kids' Pokemon Red cartridges. Less than two months later, I somehow misplaced the cartridges and we never found them again.
This video should be titled "10 Gameboy Accessories You Didn't Know Existed."
I don't think surviving a Gulf War is an accessory.
I don't think a gold and diamond Gameboy is an accessory. That is more of a case mod. And also, the Playstation to Gameboy cartridge adapter isn't a Gameboy accessory for a Gameboy, it is an accessory for the Playstation...
10 accessories is still more accurate considering that's what all but the case mod & that singular durability example were.
Thee Adjudicator Regardless, none of the things listed in this video are native functions of the Gameboy. It's a misleading title.
Its not only a misleading title. The thumbnail shows an arrow pointing on the power led, no accessory or topic was even made regarding the power led. Just report those kind of videos, youtube will do the rest.
From the thumbnail: yes, I know it can turn on.

Woahhh! The GameBoy has a small LED light that indicates your current battery life, dang that blows my mind! :o
Well, it doesn't really indicate the battery life, but when it gets dim you know when it's going dead.
The battery light would flash on the Gameboy, Gameboy Pocket and Gameboy Color when the battery was going to die. Same with the Sega Game Gear.
Basically.. "Gameboy Accessories you didn't know existed"

Very much true. They can’t have micro transactions on gameboy
I love old game systems and they are usually not to spendy and great games for a lot of them. What’s better than having it when you are ten? Having it when you’re 35
I think I still have my FM Tuner some where, loved that thing. Would power it up without a cartridge just to listen to the radio
You also forgot the gameboy printer which was essential for Pokémon if you caught them all. We didn’t have Etsy back then - and I’m only just finding out now about the glitches. lol
The game boy shoe was the most interesting fashion statement. I can imagine KISS rocking out with game boys that said “KISS ARMY” across the screen lol

My old see through purple Game Boy color was my favorite thing ever
whyjordie transparent purple game boy ??
Coolcraftrobloxchannel 590 it was a type of Gameboy Color

Atomic Purple was popular. So popular in fact that it became the only post-launch color option to not be limited production.
I had the same one I loved that thing would play it all day. The good old days.
I owned that FM radio, it was a cool idea but that thing broke after daily use. Damn talk about a trip on memory lane 🤔🔥
You missed one. There was/is an attachment that is a obd 1 obd 2 diagnostic tool for cars.
Interesting. This I actually didn't know.
There was also a printer but I guess that was more common so it wasn't added to this list.
i still have my old gameboy color
