Thank you. I've never seen this way of making an elastic bracelet before. I'm going to use this fore sure. It's great. I've been making jewelry for 20+ years this proves there is always something new to learn!
I like this way ! I make bracelets all the time but I'm gonna make some this way too. Thanks for sharing. I've been making jewelry for 10 yrs & have watched 1000's of jewelry making videos & haven't ever seen this way.. awesome!!
Thanks so much. I have been experiencing a problem with my knots not holding and I think this method plus the glue should help a lot. Excited for stronger bracelets.
I've been searching for a secure knot for double stranded tila bead bracelets. My knots turn out so huge i can't hide them. This knot looks very compact. Will try. Thanks
I buy needle packs from temu and cut the end off to make an open needle. I use them to string gemstone beads as well as fashion beads. They’re great for what I need them for!
I always secure the knots with (transparent) Bondic glue. It’s not sticky when applied, but seals (hardens) in seconds by using the black light that’s on the other end of the glue stick. I can even cut off the extra thread very close to the knot. You can wear the bracelet right away! Bondic isn’t cheap, but sooooo worth it, as you only need a tiny bit.
Thank you so much for this easy technique. I make elastic bracelets and stretch the elastic. I put beads on for 7”. I struggle here as my bracelet turns out bigger when I stretch the four strings after tying off. Any ideas as to what I may be doing? Thank you.
Hi lovely! That is interesting I haven’t had that problem! Sounds like the elastic is not tight enough and may be stretching. So making sure you are pre-stretching your elastic really well before starting and then when you tie the knot, make sure the elastic is pulled through as far/tight as you can before tightening the knot. Good luck 🌻💫
The one downside I can see to this knot is that it will be a little less than the strength of one strand. So stiffness-wise it might be feel the same as a double strand, but strength-wise it less than half.
It’s called a surgeon’s knot - that extra “twist” helps lock in the knot better than simple overhand knot. Very effective. BUT, the more you bend/knot a line, the weaker it becomes. Technically, a SINGLE surgeon’s knot w/ dab of hypo-cement is ideal.
The only problem with this stretch bracelet, it is hard to find elastic stretch that can be doubled stringed for gemstones that are .05… Most all of my gym strings are less than 1 mm. I do have 1 mm beats and 2 mm beats but most likely I will use those for leather. I’m actually a professional metalsmith instructor and I do love beating as well. I do not teach it. But I cannot find anywhere smaller retch elastic string. Hobby lobby, Joannes, Michael’s. Etc… are there some places I can look online.? Because it would be nice to be able to use your way that you tie or knot…???????
Or, you can make one yourself with beading wire. Cut a piece twice the finished length you want, fold in half into a “V”, then cut it. Keep in mind the size holes in the beads you’re working with to determine what size wire to use.
I cut the end off a beading needle that is joined on both ends! Because I needed one to go through the loop. You can just buy beading needles and snip the end off

Such a great trick. The will try making stretchy bracelets again now that I know a more secure way to knit it! Thank you
Thank you so much. I’ve had a hard time with elastic and this looks like it is the answer to my problems.
Excellent! Glad it was helpful! 🌻
I don't do much of this kind of work but this helps me a lot! Thanks for sharing!
Hands down best knot ever!!

Where to get a "open ended needle?" Never heard of that..🤔

Make your own with beading wire like Soft Flex. Make it in a “V” however long you want.
It's been a couple of years but I think I got mine on Amazon or maybe Joann's.

Best knotting video iv seen. Ty.
Highly Informative. Thank You 🙏 for Sharing Mam.❤
I did not know about the divided nedle and is the solution I was looking for. Thank you. ❤
If you buy a good gauge reel of fishing wire, you can cut off loads of divided needles whenever you need them.

Thank You!! Great tip and I just made that knot on a bracelet.

Would it be stronger than the two cords tied all together as if they are one cord?😮
ua-cam.com/video/MLYAmobQW8U/v-deo.htmlsi=TmfjU4RAe5tGyUou I mean this surgeon's knot

How do you get glue out of a bead that had glue on knot?
Hi there
Could you let me know the name of equipment and where shall I get them from please
Many thanks 🙏
Great video
Where do I buy an open ended bead needle?
Which elastic you are using here plz tell
This is stretch magic elastic cord 💫🌻
I was curious as to the reason for looping the left side twice and the right side once.

I tried this method but the bead holes weren't big enough for 2 strands + the needle.
I like the bracelets that you're wearing
Thanks! Have tutorials for all of them in my videos 💜 🌻
@@creativefnk okay, I'm going to subscribe!
What size string are you using ?
She says what size as well as posts it onscreen.

She said 0.7 mm elastic. Had to skim transcript to find the info.

what size hole is drilled in the bead?
2 mm hole in bead. I found it in the transcript.
Please tell us where to get this needle. None on Amazon
Not sure what country you're in, I'm in the UK but if you type beading needle onto Amazon there's hundreds of choices

I been using stretchy fiber ones but the fibers start to split and thin
Yes that’s why I don’t use the fibre ones, I find a quality elastic the best 🌻💫
