    In the video we use 4mm seed beads and 0.7mm elastic to show our favourite elastic bracelet knot.

    I haven't touched my beads in ages, but my toddler niece is obsessed with little stretchy bracelets so I'm gonna crack out my old kit and see about adding to her collection 😁

    Here’s a really good tip:
    If you have some super glue, preferably in a small tube, then sit that onto your knot, so that it won’t come undone

      I agree! Super glue is my secret ally in keeping my bracelets nice and secure. The jewelry glue is great as long as it sits for 12 hours in case you don't have super glue.

    what i did when it kept breaking, put some clear nail polish and it was a bit more secure, i pulled it though while putting the nail polish. hope this helped a bit for some people whos bracelets keep breaking!

    • @knotqueen
      @knotqueen  Місяць тому +1

      Yes that would work better than nothing! But nail polish/super glue can be brittle, the jewellery glue has a bit of ‘flex’ to it so is better but you can use other things if you don’t have any jewellery glue available! 💫🌻

    To be absolutely sure I won’t loose beads in case the bracelet breaks, I take 2,5 times the length of a single cord and go though all the beads a second time (I’ve got a head stopper before the first bead, or the cord through it 3 times when I put it on the cord). When I tie the knots as in this video, I wrap it around the first cord too.
    I use glue for the knot as well (Bondic dries in seconds with black light).
    If a bracelet breaks, it’s never on the knot.

    I'm not sure why, but this is not working. I used 0.8 mm string and stretched it really good, and used seed beads and it didn't work. Do you know why? Thanks.

    • @knotqueen
      @knotqueen  3 місяці тому

      Did you take a lot of time/care on gently pulling the knot tight? You need to really make sure the elastic is pulled through the knot a little to lock it in place. 0.8 is getting a bigger size of cord and the bigger it is, the harder it can be. I’d try a thinner thread if you have any (0.5mm or 0.7mm) or some elastic threads are better than others. My favourite is stretch magic. Keep trying though! Good luck 👍

    Great video - thank you so much. How many milimeters should a bead be, to be able to hide a knot inside?

    • @knotqueen
      @knotqueen  8 місяців тому +1

      Glad you enjoyed it! It really depends on the size of the hole, and size thread you are using. If you are using 0.5mm thread for example you need a hole at least 1mm wide to fit a knot made with 0.5mm thread. 0.7mm thread and 1mm thread knots are even bigger (usually about double the thread size for the knot) so really depends more on the hole/thread size, not the bead. Hope this helps 💫

    My husband & I are in dentistry (& my outdoorsman dad taught me knots since age 6), & we have never failed so miserably at knots with this blasted material… still no luck after watching this & your other videos many times. Tried other knots. Could it be the .8 Crystal Tec bracelet material?

    • @knotqueen
      @knotqueen  18 днів тому

      Absolutely could be the cord! The bigger it is, the harder it is to secure as well but some cords are just better than others. You could try a 0.5mm cord and then work up, but pay extra attention to pulling the knot right after/working some of the cord through the knot. Good luck! 🌻👍

    • @knotqueen

      0.7mm is the best or 1mm if you are using big or heavy beads 🌻

  • @michellebirdwell9430
    @michellebirdwell9430 7 місяців тому

    Can you share what mm and brand/type of elastic you're using? I can't seem to get this knot to stay secure with the thicker clear type (almost like a fishing line but stretchy) but the more elastic string type works better.

    • @knotqueen
      @knotqueen  6 місяців тому

      The bigger the elastic the harder it is to secure a knot. I use 1mm elastic for bigger beads but this is harder than 0.7mm elastic which I use for beads up to about 6mm. Hope this helps 🌻

    Please suggest any other alternate glue...or if without glue is it secure

    • @knotqueen
      @knotqueen  8 місяців тому +1

      It is secure without glue if the knot is pulled tight and ‘locked in’ place. It’s all in the gentle pulling of the knot. Good luck 💫

      About 25-30cm. 25 if you really don’t want to waste any elastic. Have fun 🤩

    This doesn't hold with 1mm griffin elastic cord. Are you sure it works without glue?

      Sorry re reading that, I sound kinda rude, not my intention! You have the best video on how to do the surgeon knot, just wondering if you have any tips for knots that keep coming loose, even after prestretching the elastic and really working the knot to get it tight? Thanks

    • @knotqueen
      @knotqueen  8 місяців тому

      1mm cord is definitely harder, you really need to work the knot tight, pulling all the different angles. Take your time and be gentle but firm with the pressure. Good luck 💫

      Try doing another layer of knots if the cord is super tiny! Make sure you pull it tight gently in between each layer 🌻✨

    what thickness elastic do you use? :)

    • @knotqueen
      @knotqueen  6 місяців тому

      Depends what size beads I’m using. If the beads are 8mm or bigger I use 1mm elastic. Smaller than 8mm beads and I use 0.7mm elastic. Hope that helps 🌻
