Went to Langer's in 1964 through 1969. I was a student at Chouinard Art Institute on Grand View. Langer's was a small storefront on the side where the back of the current location is. It was mainly To Go take out at the time. Pastrami sand with Gulden's dill pickle, and one off those little walnut cake things . $1.75 , 35Cents for the little cake thing.
Amazing the place is still there after all these years! Remember in sixties and seventies seeing it going to one of two theatres that were open back then, Westlake and Alvarado; Neighborhood has changed, possibly for worst, but still recognize that place along with thrifty drug and discount, now 99 cent store, and remnants of the two Theatres.
…way back in the 70’ when I worked a few blocks west of Langers it was my favorite deli to eat at least once a week my favorite pastrami sandwich…things have changed since then now I can see more Latinos on the front line slicing the delicious pastrami instead of the back room… cleaning washing doing mostly menial work… things have changed indeed… I miss a good pastrami sandwich…
Love this place! The area around it has changed , but LANGER'S Pastrami hasn't ! If I were on death row and was allowed 1 last meal it would be a #19 from LANGER'S!
Roast beef basket : people season roast beef basket how you like it : i don"t like garic etc etc ; pastrami or cornbeef ❤ fresh out the cooker ; no water down cooling " water take taste out of pastrami/ cornbeef ;; great brand of pastrami etc etc
Pastrami is one of the best things you can eat on earth. I went out of my way to have it at Langer's, and it did not disappoint. I'd still put Katz's in Manhattan as #1, though. Like the man said, once you go corporate and take away the family, its all downhill.
With the money theyve made over the years you'd think theyd buy one of the adjacent buildings ,demlish it and make a multi level parking lot. Good luck finding parking whgen you go there.
$50.00 for two pastrami sandwiches!! Unbelievable. Better head to Jerry's Deli in Studio City for a better experience and not fear being mugged on the way to lunch.
This guy can Open the Oscar's with that Voice...............
guy has a golden voice.
This place is amazing. Truly a legendary LA dining spot

The number 19 love it! Moved to LV Nevada in the late 70’s and miss that delicious sandwich.

Heart and soul!
Norm is 1000% why Langer's still great. I'm a deli expert since 1955
I'd eat here 1 time a week, looks delicious & congratulations on the James Beard award

Sorry Katz deli in New York bar none best Pastrami!
Overrated and overhyped too much damn meat and no vegetables to balance it out 💯

I’ve had both and langers is better. Just had Katz 4 days ago
Langers is voted number 1 in the country 🤷🏽♂️
Staff is excellent!
Delicious 😋
Pastrami Queen........................
I hug you all with Love Love Johnny Sins
Going there right now ✅👍
I'll be there on Monday to try that sandwich for the first time. Not gonna lie. Sandwich looks small. Ha ha ha ha.
Will it maje it through Covid ?
I hope so.
I think if I was to make this i would it a labour of love.🌯🌮🌭🍕🍖🍗🥞🍟🍫🍯
ive had the #19 sandwich and it was really good.

They should move period
The Best!
About to drive 45 min to get a sandwich
theguy13 then wait in a line for 30 minutes
If langers moved from MacArthur park to somewhere actually downtown I think they will have a way bigger customer base 🤦♂️
I don't think they wanna be bigger.
No way..Harold's in Edison, NJ. The best in our country.
Begone, you thrice-damned Jersey Devil.
I was there last month, its also the most expensive. I split a large corned beef and pastrami sandwich 56 dollars.
The best. NYC can't hold a candle to Langers. Not saying the pastrami in NYC is bad, it's just not this good.
Way cheaper than Katz
This was the comment I was looking for.
#19 is not worth the price for that sandwich is $30 I can get a steak or go to a nice buffet
hmmm i thought Katz was the bomb
I hope they start using glove because it sanitary and now we in the Covid era
I agree. Better yet, that Langer's starts a delivery service for individuals working remotely from home.

@@SickassNikes1 bro that corner smells like hot garbage and I live three streets over
The #19 is highly overrated and over-priced!
Katz is way overpriced and trash
