I went on three trips through the Leslie Frost nature reserve, circa 1980's. The Nunikani route was my favorite but we did do the poker loop too. Great video as always.
Thanks Thomas! I actually went through Nunikani lake on my way back from East Paint Lake a little later last fall. Right at peak fall colours. That will be the next video! Thanks for watching!
Very nice video. I love that area and have been paddling it since it was crown land and unknown. Pretty busy now, but still one of my favourite spots for a quick overnighter.
Thats amazing! It is still so beautiful! I only saw one other canoe put there other then Brad and Kim. But ai had the lake all to myself. Such a beautiful area!
i spent many happy summer in the 1950's at a scout camp on kushog lake and then north to st nora lake and beyond for canoe trips.any photos new or old would mean a lot to me. and it's a dogs world we just take them around from place in their universe.
Right on David! Sounds like some amazing memories! I never been on Kushog but thats very close to where I was. I might check that out some time! And yes, a dogs universe it is! I wouldn’t know what to do without her!
I'm glad I caught this video, what a beautiful area. My sons want to join me on a weekend excursion near the end of the summer and I've been looking for somewhere close. Saw this route in Kevini Callans book and skipped past it. But after seeing your video, I think this just may be the one! Thank you for sharing. Cheers, Rob
That is great! It is such a beautiful area! I kinda feel like since it is close to algonquin people just go to algonquin and don’t look outside the park. While inside Algonquin is stunning, outside the park looks exactly the same! And maybe even less busy! I strongly recommend it!👌
That is such a pretty area, go's to show you don't have to travel for day's to find nice places. Of course the weather was perfect! That general area is one of the reasons my wife and I looked into moving near there or Huntsville. Too costly now among other things. Ever think your dog looks at you putting sticks in the fire and wants to say " Why are you burning my toys?" Take care!
It really is! It would be amazing to live so close to it for sure! Lex always gives me a certain look when I put sticks in the fire, She definitely thinks that! I really wish she could talk. She always has a lot to say!
I'm hoping to train our young German shepherd to canoe. Not hopeful. Your dog is a beauty. If you watch Canoe the North, you'll see dogs who really love the water. I keep finding new vids.... I think this is the last....where is this area? Looks like crazy fun! You're on my big screen and my tablet....
I camped at McDonald lake once in my sylvansport trailer..i had a broken arm at the time..guys down the road helped me get settled on the campsite and even lit a fire 4 me! No kayaking that trip but at least i got to camp!
Thanks William! Lex comes in at about 65 pounds. I thought she would get a little bigger than she did but the is the perfect size for in the canoe now! And thanks, I love the rustic traditional style😁 Thanks for watching!
Can't wait to Kayak camp, boat camp, motorcycle camp, and even Car camp. thanks for show !!
You’re welcome! The season is pretty much here now😁 enjoy the summer!
Another awesome video!
Thanks Andy👍
Just found your channel. Excited to watch more of your content! Love your canoe, and Lex is such a good girl 💙
Nice! Looked so peaceful.
I’ve gotten extremely lucky with the weather there every time I gone there!👌
Good video 👍🏻🐕
Thanks Bob!
When I'm down that way I'll stop into the restaurant ! Love that area!
It is a sweet area with lots to do! And awesome food at the mill pond!👌

I do believe we had that same campsite some years ago. We had planned on Algonquin, but we got as far as Minden and found the lakes were still frozen.
That makes sense! Beautiful little area! Right around ice out would be great fishing too I imagine!
That shot of you and Lex watching the sunset! Hope you printed that one and framed it!
Hahaaa I havent yet! If was such a nice sunset!! She will actually sit there and watch it with me! 😅

Great video as always. How much does Lex weigh? We have a full German shepherd I want to take out, he weighs 80lbs.
