I will end up adding all these how-to videos into a playlist so they are easy to find! I already have many planned 💕
Also, I recommend Copic Markers because they are refillable, but a budget friendly option are Ohuhu Markers ❤ I am pretty sure Ohuhu finally has refills too!

Colorless blenders are really only for blending a light color into the white of the paper. You can kinda also use them if you put down a color and decide it is too dark. Just know, if you use it for that purpose, it might end up a bit patchy.

What I have been doing for a year or two is putting down the colorless blender FIRST and then putting down your colors. It prevents the ink from being taken away. I love using this hack. Highly recommend

That's how your supposed to use them, it's not a hack. It's called "pre-priming"

That's how I use my colorless blender. The colorless blender works great if you use it to prime the paper first💯

Colorless blenders get a bad rap but they are actually really cool. If you lay down a layer of it before your colors then the colors come out more blended and less streaky. It's like using a layer of clean water before adding watercolors only not as intense. Chisel tips are the best for this because they get out a lot and the paper stays wetter longer.
If I have completely colored something like skin and it looks a bit dark or unblended I go over the whole thing with the CB and it makes everything a but lighter and more evenly blended.
Also, and I recommend using one with a fine tip for this, if you get a bit outside of the line then the CB can be used to either push the color back (with finesse you can make it so the harsh lines line up with your lineart) or it can lighten a darker color to the point that its easy to hid with another color.

Nice tutorial.. but somehow im not able to get this effect.. one thing is that the colours we get here are quite different, with hardly any lighter shades and most of them leaving behind heavy streaking.. also i was wondering, what kinda paper have you used here ? Is it cotton blend, or just paper with high gsm? And is it cold pressed or warm? Maybe that might help

I use this same technique when blending my yellows together. Dark color first, then blend with a lighter color and leave a space in between both blended sides where the white highlight should be.
I hope this makes sense, and to Chell with the colorless blender!! 🤣

Actually for the colorless blender you’re suppose to put it first before putting the colors so then it doesn’t have a line in the middle I have seen a lot of people make this mistake so I just wanted to tell you!
(This is just what I think since I watched another video about the colorless blender and it says that so yeah but I might be wrong!)

From personal experience: I actually lay the dark tone in first, but then "Wait, How Do I Blend It With The Lighter Tone??" I then use the blender all around the circle, lighting up the dark shade before coloring all over the circle again, this time with the lighter shade. "But That'll Cover Up The Darker Shade More, Thus Not Blending The 2 And Just Hiding The Dark Under The Lighter Tone!" That's why after spreading the lighter tone around, I go back to the darker shade and blend it with the lighter shade again.
