Sadly...... This video was VERY accurate. Only correction I have is the Raiden from 1995 actually protected the fighters everytime they got attacked before the tournament started. This guy did squat.
The biggest sin of this whole movie, besides not being a full Mortal Kombat tournament, was not giving us the 2 hour Scorpion Samurai Revenge Epic we deserved.
@Rodolfo Ramos Even that cartoon Mortal Kombat "movie" we got on VHS before the release of the '95 movie had a better representation of the rivalry... and better CGI.
Biggest sin of this movie is talking about a tournament all the time and never actually having a tournament. The tournament never happens. Other than that though, I enjoyed the shit out of it.
The closest you'll probably get is 'Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge', and even then, more time is spent on developing Liu Kang, Sonya, and Johnny Cage instead of Scorpion.
Mortal Kombat is just about Scorpion. Last I check the games have more than one character in them. Tf wants to watch a MK movie about solely one character who isn’t even the main character (Liu Kang) anyway
You missed out on the "Cole left his family to protect them because his proximity put them in danger, but decided to go back to his family, putting them in danger."
Don't forget that he then left them _again_ so they would be put back in danger of being frozen and abducted by SubZero, after which they were promptly frozen and abducted by SubZero, waiting for Cole to return and save them from danger. Again.
As silly as it seemed, Kunai (like many eastern martial arts weapons) are actually originally a gardening/agricultural tool, so it was completely acceptable that she was using it to garden.
The problem is that so much of the movie just lacks the proper exposition to explain the events of the first tournament and would’ve been better off if Cole Young was replaced by Johnny Cage, I think Louis Tan would’ve played him pretty well and there wouldn’t be any confusion as to who Cole is and what his role in the series is. In addition to this, they don’t explain the proper rules of the tournament well or any of their powers, it would’ve been better to explain that Earth risks being overrun by Outworld if they lose a consecutive amount of tournaments which motivates them to fight. In addition to that, they should’ve better developed Raiden’s character and given him better reasons for being so cynical compared to his video game counterpart. Maybe showcase how he’s been weathered over time by seeing countless Earthrealm kombatants lose, so he’s trying with all he’s got with the current lot. The mark for kombatants is also stupid, they should just make them chosen and have their reasons for Raiden drawing them to fight in the tournament, just like in the animated movie. Plus, on top of this, they keep killing people off before the tournament begins and don’t articulate the actual rules behind it. It makes sense that Shang Tsung would try to kill people off before the tournament begins but I’m pretty sure the game forbade him from doing so, which is why he usually tries stuff like this when people are in different realms.
@@rafrivera7883 It's a rope dart, which means it CAN be used that way, in addition to throwing it and yanking it back, both as a ranged stabby thing and as a hook.
To be fair, at least initially, he was using it kind of as a meteor hammer which is a real weapon style that's cool to watch. However, I'm reaching to find praises to this movie, hehe. Apparently when you use a hook/spear point attached to a rope though, it's called kusari-fundo/kusari-gama.
I'm calling a sin on CinemaSins, you completely skipped over the fact that Sub-Zero apparently waited hundreds of years, then randomly told Shang Tsung for no reason, "I am no longer Bi-Han...I am Sub Zero!".
Arcana and dragon markings. The games have been around since '92, but all of a sudden we need a name for these powers and tattoos to distinguish who's worthy or not. Writers just can't help themselves
In mortal kombat 3 kahn and his minions invaded earthrealm, and most of the population's souls were claimed. A few, like your normal heroes and kabal and striker survived. They were seen as chosen or worthy. I like that reasoning much better than tattoos lol
Shit's like the chi level bullshit in the mulan remake. Why can't someone just be good at fighting? who cares about all this mystical bullshit learn to write a naturally occuring conflict with cool fight scenes
Bold of them to release a Mortal Kombat movie all about the lore a year after the last game pretty much went "You know all that lore we built in the last 25 years? Yeah, none of it matters anymore and we can make up as much as we want from here on."
Which sucks and explains why mk9 to mk11 aftermath are a disgrace to what fans know. They should have continue Taven's story but then again they would fuck it up and can care less what we think and know what they were supposed to do.
I'm pretty sure MK11 is a direct follow up to MK10, which itself was a follow up to MK9. Love it or hate it, the story is objectively tied together with the past several titles. I don't know how anyone could think MK11 was some type of hard reboot.
Not necessarily, Johnny Cage is a step up from the generic action MC, and just the writing in general hurt the character not really Cole himself, like for example when you write that your character loses every single fight but then conveniently beats someone way stronger than him it’s the writing, in reality Cole should’ve just been Takeda and then said his adopted father or his moms husband was Kenshi
@@DrippleDragon I completely agree that its the writers fault. I get that they wanted someone the audience could relate to and follow on there journey. That role could have gone to any number of MK characters. I just said Johnny because he has been with the series from the beginning. But i also like your idea as well. On a side note I would love to see the MK Legacy expanded and continued

Honestly, the best part of this movie was the start. Hanzo’s beginning arc was awesome; the other main characters were dry as hell. I didn’t expect a GOOD movie, but I expected it to at least be entertaining. Should’ve just been about Hanzo himself.
The beginning of the movie felt like a different director which should of kept it that way unless it was just they hired a good fight choreographer and then switched it. Opening was Excellent.
Yeah I wanted to see a Scorpion original story where he fights through literal hell and at the climax of the film he has a choice to resurrect his family or get revenge and he chooses vengeance... Cue the music and the Johnny Cage solo film tease in the end credits... MKCU is born.
There’s nothing wrong with shark boy and lava girl. A truly perfect film. Mr electric send this commenter to the principles office and have him expelled!
2:11 Actually, that isnt the only weapon he uses. Him being the leader of the Shirai Ryu also makes him an excellent swordsman, not to mention hand-to-hand fighter. Plus, as Scorpion, he also opts to use his fire-breathing skull and his hand from hell. He never just sticks to his kunai, even tho theyre his most iconic weapons. It just happens that this movie only showed the kunai and not much else.
"I'm not allowed to get involved because I'm a god, but the other gods are too lazy to enforce the rules so I'll just sit here watching you die" *Raiden in the games* "You *knew* they broke the rules and still we as the overseeing deities won't do anything? Well, f you too. I revoke my godhood and am going to do what you refuse to."
Not really? Unless you mean the original timeline Raiden in MK9 was the Elder God's bitch, in MKX he was absent for most of it, and in MK11 he died instantly and when the past one came be he did was MK9 Raiden did mostly.
@@NadoKahn in the midway timeline it’s a bit different, The Elder Gods did a shit ton more in the original timeline than in any other, but at a point they allowed Raiden to participate because they called out Outworld on cheating, it wasn’t until Armageddon where he said fuck the elder gods and then goes Dark Raiden for the first time
@@NadoKahn He's not their bitch, he just respects and fears their power unlike Shao Kahn who learned the hard way. Besides, Raiden made up for it in MK 11 by turning LK into a freaking new Protector of Earthrealm, Fire Thunder God and new keeper of time which LK wouldn't have been able to do without Raiden. Besides that's the second timeline, original timeline EG got way more involved and Raiden turned dark and did what he wanted anyway including defying the EG's as both light and Dark Raiden. Raiden also took out Shinnok when unbound by dumb rules centuries ago the first time banishing his ass, Raiden is definitely not a bitch he's just got Superman's nerfing syndrome, he holds back and is way too merciful so the bad guys take advantage of it.
@@MKF30 I think the plot and terrible story of the reboot and movie is what left a bad taste of Raiden and the Elder Gods in everyone’s mouths, not saying they don’t have their flaws, and I remember a lot of the problems from the original timeline was that when Raiden killed someone it bit him in the ass, and by the time he was allowed to participate there were a shit ton of more powerful foes, like no one expected Quan Chi and Shang Tsung to ally, and then Onaga is a whole ass elder god, Shinnok is just as powerful if not more with his amulet, and I wouldn’t say he lost to Taven I do agree he held back against the son of Argus
@@DrippleDragon I wouldn't say terrible just had some flaws which let's be honest every franchise has some DC, Marvel etc but still for a video game and by far for a fighting game MK is by far the best hands down. Raidens one mistake in the old timeline was killing Quan chi and Shang resulting in onaga getting the amulet on top of all the kamidogu but he planned to wipe them all out the only reason onaga survived was due to shujinkos incompetence and getting duped by Damashi who is also Onaga give him the kamidogo all of them which will make anyone insanely op, one is enough to give someone insane power since its literally the essence and power of the one being an omnipresent, eternal deity over the entire universe that nobody can kill but can be defeated as the Elder Gods did eons ago. They trapped its essence in the kamidogu old timeline amulets, new one in daggers and shattered its body turning it into the realms which is insane power its just they tend to be neutral and not want to get involved ever... Shinnok with his amulet is powerful but so is Raiden, he justbholds back. When he doesn't hes arguably more powrrful than both Shao Kahn and Shinnok. I mean Raiden has effected time itself so yeah...lol but anyone also with the amulet is a high level threat especially Shinnok or Raiden. The new mk9 story was solid honestly with a few exceptions it is 9ne reason mk got put back on the map bigtime and attracted new fans even every other fighter said nrs redefined the story for fgs as they too now have a story like mode. Between mk and injustice this is pretty obvious. The new movie I feltnhad more positives than negatives but could have been better I have no issues with it being a prequel but more so with cole being there. I get why for the genera audience to latch onto but didn't feel necessary. I have no issues with the Raiden stuff if people knew mk lore they'd know why he didn't do more allnill say on that. I think considering the fact that keep in mind this movie was one of the first to release in theatres dueing a pandemic, rated R and video game movie a stigma against it alone and competition against itself via streaming on HBO it still was number 1 opening weekend at 23 mill and 30 mill streaming. Not too shabby considering. Was it perfect no, but as bad as some people said hell no. On RT the "professional critics" gave it 55% vs audience who gave it 86% nuff said. It'll get 4 more sequels. I still consider the original to be the best video game movie ever but I enjoyed this one and was way better than annihilation. Scorpions revenge is also solid even if it goes off canon too but most like that movie alot too and end of this month the sequel battle for the realms hits. Looks fun.
@@ShlomoMetzenbaum There were so many sins in this movie. Retconning itself, making a new character no one gives a flying fuck about, introducing that arcana bullshit, and absolutely riddled with continuity errors!

Nothing worse than the what the movie did to him by calling him Syzoth when literally most MK fans have no idea that's his name, and left the movie either thinking it wasn't Reptile or didn't know if it was him or not.
My head still hurts from all that arcana bs and Jax getting magic arms and Sonya getting superpowers. Just give them hi tech gadgets and cybernetic arms.
Did you forget to sin the whole Sonya can just use her Arcana without having to do anything to unlock it? She just gets the mark and bam shows up with power rings!
biggest flaws of this movie: 1.- birthmarks to show you're worthy to enter the turnament 2.- Arcanas 3.- F*CKING COLE 4.- Sub-zero actually being called the strongest of the netherealm faction 5.- F*CKING GORO REDUCED TO TYPICAL HENCHMAN!!! HE'S THE F*CKING SUB-BOSS OF THE ORIGINAL GAME!! 6.- NO F*CKING JHONNY CAGE!!!!!
7- Shafting Liu Kang the actual hero 8- Raiden and Shang Tsung are bland as hell compared to 90s film 9- Godly teleportation is only used to have seperate fights and not to effectively take the villains out 10- No actual tournament
Agree with all points, and would like to add a couple rather underwhelming performances from shang tsung and liu kang, at least in comparison to their 1995 counterparts. Cary tagawa and robin shou owned that film. This time the characters were just like cosplayers or charicatures
Actually Tshang Sung using SZ to kill the marked earth realmers is GENIUS! there is no second best for erath realm because the mark can only be transferred to someone who kills the barrer if they dont have one. SZ had a mark so the transfer cancels out and keeps other earthrealm fighters from being chosen.
Though the argument could be made that if a marked person kills another person with a mark it transfers to another living relative. After all Bi-Han who most likely had a mark killed Hanzo and it transferred to Hanzos baby that was rescued by Raiden.
This movie did everything that you're not supposed to do with making a video game movie adaption. Making it's about a character that was not in the original games, pushing all the old characters to the side, we didn't get much of Scorpion versus Sub-Zero, it's a mess.
@@waleuska Are you saying that Tom was in the games or that Tails/Knuckles/Metal Sonic/etc. weren't pushed to the side? It's funny you mention the rope because I did landscaping for 10 years. The second year we were planting flowers and they were meant to be a certain pattern and distance between each plant. So I came up with the idea to use a rope in order to plant them in a completely straight line. People who saw my work would always ask me how the hell the flowers were so perfectly straight and I would tell them to use a rope to keep it straight.
@@jd50053 Or we can stop making animated masterpieces live action because they almost never translate well as both have their strong points that don't work in the other.
This movie eviscerates Mortal Kombat lore. The MK tournaments were designed to assemble the greatest fighters across multiple worlds. Some were "chosen ones" like Liu Kang since he was chosen by Raiden to defend Earthrealm but a lot were kind just roped into the tournament for various reasons, often personal reasons. I hate how Jax gets his arms ripped off by Sub-Zero and not Ermac. Ermac would have been a much better villain, would have made sense given the MK9 canon, and would have given Shang Tsung a proper ally given Ermac was literally made by Shang to begin with. Also Jax's arms are cybernetic not magic. Cybernetics is pretty common in the MK universe through Kano and the Cyber Lin Kuei. The fact Jax goes from having literal chicken feet for arms to "magical" robot arms because he saved Sonya is utter bullshit. Also Kano's a member of the Black Dragon along with Kabal. The fact Kabal knows Kano's on Earth implies the Black Dragon is a thing so Sonya not immediately wanting to kill Kano despite him being involved in the tournament is also bullshit. It's also bullshit that Kano even bothers with the tournament and Kabal sides with Shang Tsung - their roles are literally REVERSED in the MK9 canon! Kano is a selfish prick who sides with Shang and Kabal leaves the Black Dragon but gets immolated by Kintaro which is why he has the suit. The speed was given by Shang Tsung, who tried to revive him. Obviously Shang gave Kabal the suit and the magic in the movie but I don't get why Kabal would side with Shang since that's literally not what the MK9 canon is. Also Raiden cannot interfere with Mortal Kombat once the tournament has started. He cannon participate and nobody can challenge him. But when Shao Khan and Shang Tsung invade Earth, violating the terms of Mortal Kombat, he is allowed to engage. So Raiden claiming he can't engage even when Shang Tsung clearly is violating the terms of Kombat is 200% bullshit. Also Mileena being in the movie despite Shao Khan not having been introduced. It makes zero sense for Mileena to be in the movie if Shao Khan isn't the movie's antagonist. Why Sub-Zero though? Bi-Han wasn't even the one who killed Hanzo's clan in the MK9 canon, it was Kuai Liang. Bi-Han is killed by Scorpion in Mortal Kombat in revenge but returns as Noob Saibot. It would have been much better for Scorpion to kill Bi-Han only to realize he killed the wrong person half-way through and use that as a plot-twist.
Nice one. I'm sure that the writers didn't even play at least one of the games before coming with this script. And to think that they scrapped Johnny Cage for a Mary-Sue... The best live-action adaptations of MK are the 1995 first movie and MK Legacy.
@@Ryze2803 I do remember though when they rebooted the series and Raiden did his time travel stuff the first sub-zero we see, who later is killed by Scorpion and becomes Noob Saibot, expresses he wasn't the one who killed the Shirai Ryu. Unless that was later retconned or he lied when he was fried. Ill go over MKM: Sub-Zero to make sure.
There used to be a show on Discovery Channel or The History Channel that brokedown weapons throughout history and how they are used. The weapon that the rope and spade creates, that is designed to engage multiple attackers simultaneously and keep them outside of melee range. So, probably, by accident... That was the appropriate weapon to choose over a sword. As you know, because if more than one enemy attacks you in melee at the same time, it rapidly becomes a problem. You can't always assume the baddies will attack you one at a time... wait a minute.
In the part where subzero is "in pursuit"...am I the only one that noticed that Jax made 3 right turns ending up right back where he was? That implies that Subzero only walked into the alley.
Yeah but gotta wonder would Sub Zero get the markings if he killed them? Maybe it was to make sure Earthrealm had no fighters to work with while Sub Zero ends up with all these crazy powers.
killing the fighters would refill the roster immediately but it would also give them less time to train and find their arcana, which means at the time of the tournament, earthrealm fighters wouldnt win because they are untrained or lack their arcana.
Kano was awesome because he was the only one that didn't give a crap! Everyone else tried to play their role 'so serious' but Kano knew how bad the script really was and acted accordingly.
He missed the part where Jax fights Reiko. Jax hits Reiko on his left cheek and Reiko’s head turned left instead to the right. Meaning Reiko just broke the law of physics.

We didn't see a whole lot of him, but Kabal was my favorite from the movie. The voice actor somehow made Kabal having a Brooklyn dialect sound amazing and the sarcastic humor was perfect
@@TwilitLugia Kabal was actually a decent standard for a minor villain in this movie. Both of his fights were flashy and had fewer camera edits. He actually had some personality and the tiniest bit of background. The rest of the minor villains didn't even meet the minimum standard.
That was actually one of the worst parts of the movie lmao Kano was never that important to the story line lmfao. Hes just a side villain who gets killed by Sonya. They did way to much with a character no one cares about. It would be like a Batman and Robin movie dedicated to "Commissioner Gordans wife" where she saves the day and has more important roles and back story than Batman & Robin themselves lmfao thats stupid smh
My biggest question is this: what happened to scorpion's daughter?? If scorpion's lineage is so important, why wasn't the movie about scorpions daughter?? Or why didn't they go into detail about what really happened with his daughter?? Did I miss something when they said what happened to her??
she went on to have a family and that’s where cole descends from, it’s not about her it’s the fact his blood line survived what sub zero thought was a total massacre
I watched this film with honestly, neutral expectations about whether or not it'd be good. And after I watched it, I have one word to use and describe it. HOLLOW. Everything felt hollow. The plot, characters, the very limited development. EVERYTHING FELT HOLLOW. The only upsides I could find were the fights, and that was only two of them. The one at the start and at the end with Sub Zero and Scorpion. One other thing I can give this movie props for, was the cast. They did pretty well when they picked the cast for the OG characters, especially Kano. I honestly would have preferred a movie that had Takeda as the MC over this new guy who has as much character as a cardboard box.
Agree with your whole comment, except for the casting. Raiden, Shang Tsung, Liu Kang, Sonya, and Jax (not OG if you're talking about "1st game OG" but if you mean established characters, then yeah) were all poorly casted imho. Looks wise, I'll only give Sonya a pass but Liu Kang looked like a discount Chinese Michael Jackson and was too skinny despite being shredded (yes you can be skinny and shredded at the same time. Just look at Robin Shou Liu Kang compared to Ludi Lin). Other than that, they should have cast Ken Watanabe as Shang Tsung, Marko Zaror as Raiden, Tiger Chen as Liu Kang, Emily Blunt as Sonya and Michael Jai White as Jax. I know they couldn't afford a few of these actors, but maybe if they didn't spend their money on Goros horrible inclusion to the movie and "Outworld" that shouldn't have been shown in the movie much, only glimpses, then maybe they would have been able to afford actors who fit the roles better acting wise and fighting wise.
@@MrMJmusicLover I didn't even notice someone had laughed at his comment of the casting lol. Maybe he was just talking about "looks" and not how good they actually were in the roles, which even then he'd only be right about Sonya as far as looks 😂 but I'm with you, the cast was shit. After the movie, I only liked the casting choices of Kung Lao, Kano, Scorpion and Sub Zero.

If I was Scorpion, i'd be pretty embarrassed if a crap fighter like Cole with literal plot armor was my descendant. Movie was rubbish and disappointing.
It's so clear that they spent the most time on the First Fight with Hanzo and Bi-Han along with the Final Fight between them. The rest of the fights have so many awkward camera angles & editing that just looks really incompetent. If every fight looked mediocre/bad, then I could have just said "well it's first time director" but the first and final fight shows that the Director is capable of delivering a decent fight scene. The rest just felt like a filler to pass the time to get to the big final fight.
Fr! All they had to do was make an actual mortal kombat tournament and show the characters stories as they like like real life record of Ragnarok it would've been much better than this shit
Well his "Special Power" was also completely reliant on the fact that he would Lose his arms AND get them replaced with robot arms soo........i don't think anyone really gave a crap about the logic behind that
I also don't think he knew that this Sub-Zero was suppose to die so he could come back as Noob Saibot and be replaced by the much better Sub-Zero, Kuai Liang.
@@StephonZeno no, but you’d think the guy that’s known for shitting on movies would call the movie out for creating a protagonist that doesn’t exist in the game it’s based on.

I may be in the minority, but I didn’t think this movie was nearly as bad as people made it out to be. Cheesy in lots of spots, but not the worst thing I have ever seen on tv. The best thing about these videos is that you dont realize how much they have been sinned until you look up at the sin counter and see its at, like, 50 sins 9 minutes into the video
17:15 Knowing a thing or two about the lore might help you out a bit. The character you claim "...lives in Outworld and just happens to know Kano who is from Earth..." actually just happens to be a former member of Kano's Black Dragon clan and is also actually from Earthrealm. They even touch on their past in their dialogue later, when he goads Kano into taking down the force field. However, the jab about how he could possibly know Kano might be among the very rare 'marked' fighters is quite appropriate and annoyed me when I first saw the scene.

The 90s film is somehow much better than this.
Again.
Ok but who the hell is Cole?
As silly as it seemed, Kunai (like many eastern martial arts weapons) are actually originally a gardening/agricultural tool, so it was completely acceptable that she was using it to garden.
“And that’s all the movie has to say about that” The tag line for the movie
Stabby yo-yo is the best description of Scorpion's kunai I've ever heard.

I'm pretty sure MK11 is a direct follow up to MK10, which itself was a follow up to MK9. Love it or hate it, the story is objectively tied together with the past several titles. I don't know how anyone could think MK11 was some type of hard reboot.

The sad thing is most of the issues could have been fixed if cole was replaced with Johny Cage.

Kuai Liang didn't kill the Shirai Ryu, it was Bi-Han, play MKM: Sub-Zero
I know right! All they had to do is follow the script from the original and this movie would have been pure gold. Its sad...
@@thestellarvoid9529 then it was quan-chi. Kuai Liang had nothing to do with the death of the Shirai Ryu
I don't know if you forgot the name but it's called a rope dart

In the part where subzero is "in pursuit"...am I the only one that noticed that Jax made 3 right turns ending up right back where he was? That implies that Subzero only walked into the alley.
The marks stupidity.
Even if they managed to kill all the ones with marks. They'd just go to someone else. The roster would refill immediately.
Yeah but gotta wonder would Sub Zero get the markings if he killed them? Maybe it was to make sure Earthrealm had no fighters to work with while Sub Zero ends up with all these crazy powers.
@@NadoKahn But Sonya doesn't get Kano's eye laser, it doesnt seem like they absorb abilities from each other.
@@steik6414 Sonya gets arm lasers though. It’s the same Arcana, just manifested in a different area. It’s why she says it’s a “parting gift from Kano”
killing the fighters would refill the roster immediately but it would also give them less time to train and find their arcana, which means at the time of the tournament, earthrealm fighters wouldnt win because they are untrained or lack their arcana.
The mark is supposed to go to the person that kills them isn't it
Pretty sad that Kano made a better Mortal Kombat protagonist than a made up character.
He’s the only interesting and believable character in the film, he’s more of a audience surrogate than Cole OC dude.
A lot of movies/tv shows/video games/etc. have a villain that would make a better protagonist than the plain hero.
Kano was awesome because he was the only one that didn't give a crap! Everyone else tried to play their role 'so serious' but Kano knew how bad the script really was and acted accordingly.
@@strawhat9023 And that way, Kano's portrayal was spot on. Kabal's was pretty good too
Kano was far far the best part of this piece of shit movie, and his total one-dimensional character wasn't good at all.
He missed the part where Jax fights Reiko. Jax hits Reiko on his left cheek and Reiko’s head turned left instead to the right. Meaning Reiko just broke the law of physics.
What You expected from a WWE reject failure?
"Is he dead? I'm pretty sure he's dead! Let's check again... let's see it again.. this is getting sad now.. one more time!! HE TOTALLY dead!"🤣🤣 I can't breathe, I'm laughing so hard
Lol, reminded me of the guy in dodgeball : a true underdog story that gets hit by the russian chick and falls against the jukebox. ''I think that guy might really be dead.''
Remind me of the Monsters vs Aliens video when he keeps replaying the protagonist getting smashed by a big building or something and she voiced by Reese Witherspoon. Just check it, it's funny AF.
Kano is absolutely the best part in this movie he's so precious.
At least Josh Lawson was having fun in the role, everyone else was just phoning it in.
His back hurts carrying the whole movie. Although, the actor who played Scorpion and Sub-Zero are good too and they should just focus on them!
Also the fact that who knows how many children/grand children she had so why the fuck is Cole so special?
That smug look Raiden gave when Cole said "I thought you couldn't get involved made me fucking FURIOUS! I HATE him so fucking much.
That shit was so ass, why did they make him such a detestable piece of shit in this movie? They did get that he's supposed to be a good guy, right?
The cast? Ahahahahahahaha....the cast....Ahahahahahahaha.
Yeah the movie was trash but kinda fun to watch at some points, who the fuck isn't about to cheer when scorpion says he has risen from hell to kill sub-zero
Well, it is an Obvious cash grab, as they all are these days
CinemaSins: “It’s fair to share, if you care, that they had a spare flare over there to spare”

Raiden: 😁
*spin around full 360*
"Nah bruh you good"
Raiden consults the Elder Gods before deciding whether to go to toilet or not.
"Just like it promised in the brochure!" 🤣
Shit was hilarious 😂
Aside from all the criticism, can we just for a sec and appreciate how badass Sub-zero was? He looked like a horror movie villain.
@Weegie Squeegee Okay...
4:29 In the context of Mortal Kombat, it really is. Winning ten Mortal Kombat tournaments in a row allows for one realm to invade another.
That's also mentioned in the movie
If I was Scorpion, i'd be pretty embarrassed if a crap fighter like Cole with literal plot armor was my descendant. Movie was rubbish and disappointing.
i was expecting a lot from the trailer and the first minutes of the movies, then i want to burn the director alive after watching the movie.
"literal plot armor" 🤣👏
It was pretty damn fun though. A great popcorn movie
What did you people expect from a video game movie? We all know video game movies are never good, but Mortal Kombat was decent.

Everything. There. done.
Biggest sin is that the first 7 and last 7 minutes of this movie, are not the same movie as everything else.
Somehow everything else was so bad.
A purely Scorpion and Sub-Zero martial arts murder film would be rad. Don’t also shove in the rest of the characters as well as lame OCs.
"Video Games add new characters all the time right? We'll add our own cool new character."
Warner Bros, probably.
@@krimsonk-9478 IF he was a side character, Cole might have worked.
The movie focusing on him while being the blandest character just hurts the movie.
Fr! All they had to do was make an actual mortal kombat tournament and show the characters stories as they like like real life record of Ragnarok it would've been much better than this shit
I love Sub-Zero's stance here 16:56 and how bored he looks.
No mention of how an ancient order of monks living in an old stone temple have enough knowledge of advanced cybernetics to give Jax new robot arms?

I'm tired of Jax having to lose his arms in every MK adaption now. There were Cybernetic power enhancers in UMK3 not his real arms.

Can't help but wonder how this movie would've been if they shot it as a horror film with Subzero hunting down Earth's champions like a Terminator.

I’m starting to think Jeremy has no idea that Cole’s not from the games
Or that Kabal's originally from Earthrealm
Does it really fucking matter? This movie blows...

@ 20:26..."Jax...trying to get that nut out" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The trailer was amazing...the whole movie was just plain disappointing that I missed the first MK movie.
They really didn’t need to make a new character (especially not a boring one like we got). Just use the perspective from someone else.
I guess it was so they wouldn't play bias to one specific character from the game... too bad they used it too much and almost ignored everyone
I heard the studio warner bros pushed for a new character before film was in production.
Bruh, the screenplay was co-written by David Callaham, the amazing screenwriter of masterpiece such as Wonder Woman 1984 and Doom (2005), i'm also worried because this dude somehow got on board of the sequel of spiderman into the spiderverse
@@cangaroojack omg no if they fuck up Myles I’ll go nuts
They were going to use Johnny Cage but the team decided they didn't want to cast a white male as protagonist of their film for woke reasons.
I may be in the minority, but I didn’t think this movie was nearly as bad as people made it out to be. Cheesy in lots of spots, but not the worst thing I have ever seen on tv. My biggest issue with it was out of all the iconic game characters that could have been the lead, they decided to go with…Cole. For me, that was distracting.
Hanzo's Drawer Daughter. That's a band name right there.

The best thing about these videos is that you dont realize how much they have been sinned until you look up at the sin counter and see its at, like, 50 sins 9 minutes into the video
@ren2250, ive seen the old videos. 50 was an example
Thank you for saying it. Oh and since I'm posting. Fuck this movie. This movie couldn't be any further from the source material if they tried.
