I want to thank you! Before I got married in 2004, a family member had the courage to introduce me to the teachings of the Church on marriage and sexuality. She did so by politely asking if I’d ever heard of “Christopher West”. Which of course, I hadn’t. Nor, had I heard of what the church really taught. But, I wanted to know the truth, and one day, as a young, 23 year old engaged woman, I stumbled upon some VHS tapes in my church’s library (Btw, you never know what kind of treasures you’ll find there). The tapes were a recording of a conference you had given to young couples on “ The Good News About Sex and Marriage”. When I seen your name on the tape, I thought, bingo! So, I took the tapes home and watched them from front to back. I couldn’t get enough of the truth. It was a better marriage prep than what we had actually received through our parish. 17 years, and 8 children later, we are still living the “Good News”! So, thank you!! Honestly, I’m certain that if we’d never heard about you, there’s no telling where our marriage would be today. And I cringe at the thought of which babies we never would have had. So many blessings from the church’s true teachings. So, thank you again, for passing along the treasure, and never failing in truth!

I’ve been following you and your apostolate for 17 years, and now that I am a married woman, I find even more value in hearing some of these messages. It’s good to revisit often and be reminded of what we are called to.

I am divorced and marriage annuled now. But I don't even understand nor ever knew this kind of intimacy. I may never know except for the infancy of God. Which is fine with me. I converted in 2015 then my husband filed for divorce after 24 years of marriage. There were issues so I was not completely caught off guard.
Can I learn without actually doing it? Can I be good/skillful without going through shame for not being good? What about for those sacred things? What is the training for them?
I had this strong question in my heart that I unconsciously brought to confession and never mentioned it to the priest. God has allowed me to wrestle with it or should I say with him. He knows my heart and knew that I would continue to look for the answer that filled the puzzzle in my heart. I believe I have found it in the video. The question is not what ? It is, who?? When we are so estranged, the last thing I want is him anywhere near me. Sex has been the canary in the coal mine of our relationship. It’s been a struggle for 20 yrs.
Raised Catholic and was mostly chaste till marriage. Love my wife but after getting married I realized sex is completely, absurdly and disappointingly overrated. Its much better at selling beer and shampoo. Kinda bummed how much energy I spent focused on it or trying to distract myself from it.

I have a friend that he was telling me his wife when she is ovulating is ready to go ,but when she isn't she has -0- interest, but she will have sex with him ( out duty),but he claims it's about as interesting as watching paint drying. I honest don't think Catholics have much sex, once they stop having kids, just from the catholic men I talk to, sadly I know one husband ( their in their late 30's) they haven't had sex in yrs, when the wife is ovulating she has somewhat of sex drive, when she isn't she has 0, and she'll have sex with her husband when it's "safe" ( their not having anymore kids) this what he told me. "its sex not worth having". She basically lets him use her as masturbator object, and that's not what he wants. So their roommates ,bill payers and kid raisers. you can say what you want,, but back in Jesus time women/wife being considered the property of the husband - he/husband took what he wanted ( sexual or otherwise) from his wife. Ephesians 5:24 "Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands". seems rot with abuse?
This is kinda story of me and my husband...we have a baby but really don't want to have kids like every one or two years...we don't know what to do and we are frustrated about that...our relationship was so much better before marriage when we didn't have sex at all ...no sex is better than bad sex ...we both slowly lost interest in it...i feel like the church doesn't speak enough about those kind of situations in marriages...couples may find out their sexual life is not fullfilling or they're not suitable for each other and then what?
My experience of 25!yrs: women aren’t getting anything from it except the reward of “doing her duty” or to avoid the punishment of his petulant behavior if it’s been too long.

Husbands orgsam 98% to 99% of the time - and in a average time of less than 5 minutes into the start of intercouse! And the wife 40% to 60 % of the time she'll orgasm. So 4 out of 10 times she possibly orgasm clearly husbands are getting more out of it. On top that possibly pay the higher cost for doing it. A Couple minutes he's done and she could have 36 weeks of pregnancy? And him complaining the whole time in a normal pregnancy he should be getting more sex because they need not abstain any longer..
