A closed bottom usually amplifies the sound, but adding a silicone piece might help dampen it. Doing this for all keys on the 80HE, though-that would be quite the manual task! 😭 ^Sander
I'm not entirely sure if they are compatible. Believe I did see people say in Discord that they work. Best to maybe check Discord and ask for people if they have tested it! :) ^Sander
we need a post on the website explaining all pros and cons of the switches how do i decide im thinking geon raw tho tbh was looking forward to jade max but they sound weird
It would've been better to include that, but since the test setup is similar to my previous sound test, you can refer to that video to get an idea of how they sound. I’ll make sure to include it next time! :) ^Sander
interesting comparison! :) the "silents" are like you said pretty loud. i personally still prefer the jade pros the most, the jade gaming surprisingly sound like the regular jades...
The feel isn’t mushy at all. Since you usually release the key before it reaches the top, you avoid that mushy sensation. Plus, the silicone or rubber in the top housing is quite firm, giving it a solid hit without too much bounce. ^Sander
Geon Raw HEs have very good tolerances. Very little wobble. Would highly recommend. Also the shortest travel distance at 3.4mm + they sell 40, 50, or 60 gram bottom out force options.
i really like the pcr sounds but unfortunately there isnt a white option. when zinc white v2 comes out you guys should make a full white ABS PCR case too, not just the kinda see through ghost white. until then do you got any mods or a way to paint it well?
I will make sure to forward the feedback to the team! I am not sure in ways of painting, but I did see someone doing a pretty good job at painting a case purple themselves. ^Sander
When i got my 80HE zink case with Lekker 60, i was surprisingly happy with the sound, it had a nice "thock" that made you just want to type on the keyboard. Only had to lube the stabs a bit extra. But after using it for 2-3weeks now, it does not sound as good at all anymore. Its extremely noticeable that after the switches have been "broken in" that they sound much worse. Its very noticeable when comparing characters that i dont use that often, those switches sound much different to the ones who have been broken in. Very unfortunate :/
Glad you like the board, but really unfortunate of the switches! It shouldn't be the case that after 2-3 weeks they sound much worse. What environment do you live in? Is it humid or dusty there? ^Sander
I have a 60HE module, with an ocean blue alu case. Is it fine if there is grazes or scratches on the front side of the pcb from putting the pcb in and out the case. The grazes feel rough, compare to the other three sides of the pcb.
Always try to avoid scratching the PCB. However, as long as the traces remain unaffected, your PCB should be perfectly fine. The traces are typically a few millimeters below the surface, so minor surface scratches shouldn’t cause any issues. ^Sander
How to roll back to the previous version after updating the 2.10 test version on the official website? My version of the keyboard has severe disconnections and I cannot find the scroll back button
We plan to update the Wooting two HE in the future, as its design is becoming outdated. However, we don't have an estimated timeline for this update at the moment. ^Sander
I found the Max took a couple of days to kind of bed in and feel better. I was definitely getting the friction on day 1, but I don't feel that anymore.
How do you restart a wooting 80he keyboard I tried updating my keyboard and now it only shows two red lights on e and r I am on wooting restore mode but I can’t restore, it says there is no compatible device and it still makes the windows noise idk what I’m doing wrong
@ It took near 8 hours to get them to sound that way haha, it does have lube but it is not applied well. When I finally had the opportunity to try the Jade Pros on my 80HE from other samples it became my new fav. That said the Magnetos sound like bubble wrap popping with every keypress compared to the marbly jade pros.
Right, I find the magneto's pleasant enough, and tbh better in smoothness then the Jade pro's. But maybe the samples I received are a bit different. I do really like the Jade Pro sound myself, but the RGB is just killing me. 🥲 ^Sander
These are new additions from Gateron, so not the onces from our store front. You compare them make sure to check our other sound test video out and go back and forth to this one. :) ^Sander
i have the 60he and when i use the jade the stabilizers are not balance so it has a little bit a of rattle. what are the available stabilizers in the market that will be a compatible pair for the jades?
The Jade switches from our store includes long-pole stems that you can replace your current stabilizers with. Then it shouldn't have an issue. Or ask in our Discord, I am sure some could suggest some for you. ;) ^Sander
For any cherry MX-Black enthusiast out there. Hear me out...the scratch is gone for now but for the feel: Just buy ANY switch that has decent materials and your preferred amount of stem wobble. Then buy 70g springs and the whole HE keyboard experience will become much more enjoyable, especially when typing. Idk why EVERYONE is going so low with spring weight. I tried 40g, 50g and now 70g and it just hit my sweetspot. Everything before just wasn't it. PS: I saw no advantage with the low spring weight, it even made it hard to get used to while gaming, because the fault inputs were still there after a month of gaming...so I quit that shit.
I personally took the 40gr switches as I like lightweight switches. But I did use 50gr for the stabilizer keys so they don't stick. I over lubed my stabilizers, lol. ^Sander
Initially, we included the case with the daughterboard pre-installed to avoid the need for customers to screw it in themselves, especially since we use self-tapping screws for that. However, with the introduction of more custom cases, I completely understand if you'd prefer not to include it. I'll be sure to pass this feedback along to the team! :) ^Sander
Fair. Should've included that. You can always open 2 tabs, one of these sound tests and one with the other one. The setup is pretty similar. But yeah, I will include it in the next one again! ^Sander
i mean all in all it sounds amazing love the aesthetics but the price is still a bit too high i would gladly pay 95-100 for the case but 120? is a bit much especially when you can get the tofu60 redux for 60 otherwise good keyboard (used it for over a year now) , good case and good keycaps
They only added rubber for the up stoke but not the down stroke where normal silents have both. I guess half the rubber make it gently rather than full silent. I'm pretty disappointed in Gateron's approach.
We're still undecided about releasing them. Just as we started selling regular jades, these new switches appeared, and their high cost makes offering them a bit challenging. At this point, it’s likely we won’t offer them, but it’s not entirely ruled out yet. ^Sander
We still need to cover the cost of the switches, manage their stock in our warehouse, and given their current state (which isn’t perfect), we've decided not to take the risk right now. We want to avoid holding excess stock if something new suddenly comes along. ^Sander
