What lube should I look for if I can’t purchase from you guys? Anything specifically I should be looking for or just stabiliser and switch lube on google?
if you use the 60he can u completely change to different switches and still get the really low actuation point or is it based off of the lekker switch itself?
It's the Lekker switch itself. You also cannot use other types of switches (traditional mechanical, or optical) with the 60HE PCB because the layout/size of the holes on them are different.
The keyboard is factory lubed out of the box. Some users want a different sound or feeling to their keyboard and that is the main reason people lube their keyboards. It doesn’t influence the keyboard speed, delay or input lag in any way.
Yeah so I just spent 6 hours cleaning and lubing my 60HE today. I've had it for almost a year so it's broken in p well. people say the switches are mid but if im not mistaken in fine print under the stem it says they're made by Gateron so take that as you will. My advice is to do your due diligence and fully, fully lube the switches. I think the stock leker switches are more firm than anything so I wouldn't worry about them jamming from excessive lube. I followed the tutorial and lubed all the parts of the switch, without over lubing any parts of the swtich, and they sound like a million bucks.
When trying to reassemble the switch, the prongs on the transparent part can’t seem to fit into to the bottom base of the switch no matter what I do. I’ve lined them up perfectly and apply even force on both sides from the top and half of it fits on, or everything fits apart from one corner
@@Wooting Thank you for the response. I've pretty much decided to go for the 80HE when it gets to the UK. How long would you expect the factory applied lube to last for before I would need to lubricate again (in order to keep it in good condition).
Will putting films on the switches make them too tight to fit into the plate well? I generally like the sound of filmed switches but won't do it if the plate tolerances are too tight.
We've had a few community members on Discord go through with films, you should ask them just in case, in the #I_have_my_60he channel, #60he community modding thread. The switches are relatively tight in the plate already, and the films might increase distance from magnet to hall sensor which will make it less sensitive.
@@Wooting Thanks for the reply! After some research in the Discord I've decided not to put films on, because I don't want to effect the sensitivity of the switch. Excited to get my board soon!
does putting wooting on a magnet breaks it? i accidentally left my wooting on my iPad, then some button start to click on its own some time. Do i just switch to a new PCB or is there a way to fix it?
The only reason you "Should Not" use Krytox 205g0 on your stabs is strictly a cost issue, it's expensive and considered a waste when other lubricants like Dielectric Grease or the Molykote EM-50l you showed can do basically the same job on the stabs, neither works better or worse so i wouldn't go as far to say you outright "Should Not" use 205g0 for stabilizers, it's just more cost effective to use something else unless you don't have anything else on hand, then going out & buying something else specifically for stabs when you only have one set to lubricate would be more wasteful.
According to the website they are pre-lubed, this might be new addition to newer batches. Just got mine and it is really smooth out of the box. I have custom keyboard with hand lubed alpacas and the wooting is really close to that when in comes to smoothness.
are we able to clip the stabilizers? ive had mine for about a week. i absolutely love it. but my spacebar is pretty rattly. was going to do some stab pads and clip the legs.
I do not know if you found your answer, but you CAN clip the stabs! I clipped mine and they feel/sound a lot better. You can also band-aid mod your stabs as well. The only downside is the stabs are plate-mounted, which is not a HUGE deal, but would be nice to see this. For a gaming keyboard, it's amazing that we even have the ability to do mods that you would normally see on a custom. The fact you can even swap the PCB into other cases is awesome alone.
i've noticed youre offering PC switch plate kit on your website, was wondering if its possible to maybe have screw in stabs as an option on some future plates. thats if it can be fit in the same form factor. just an idea, id pay like £40 if a plate like that existed
hey wootinglies. when do you recommend lubing the keyboard? since it comes already factory lubed. is there a certain sound i need to hear to remind me lubing it? thanks for putting in so much effort for the keyboards. i love my 2 he sooooo much ♥
So I'm in a dusty environment, lubing regular switches eventually leads to key chatter in a couple of months. Will this still be the case with the lekker switches?
You need to see if the keycaps in row 3 collides with the switch. Usually only premium (GMK) Cherry profile keycaps have this issue. If that's the case, installing south facing will solve it yes.
Any chance wooting can make a 65 percent keyboard? I need arrow and delete keys for my work. I also need a small keyboard to travel and don't want to compromise
please tell me that the screws at 2:30 was an oversight? There is no way that those were designed on purpose to be that small to be a pain in the ass to screw back in. I'm so frustrated trying to even line that shit up?
I get lubing by hand(already are pre-lubed) improves the sound profile but does it make them any smoother? The switches already a lot more smooth than typical switches due to the different mechanism I'm skeptical lubing would make much difference in this regard.
It makes the feel more buttery, which feels smoother but isn't less frictionless if that makes sense. It makes a huge difference in sound, some in feel, a lot in typing experience.
The keyboard will continue to function perfectly even without re-lubing. However, over several years, depending on how frequently certain keys are pressed, you might notice changes in how it feels and sounds. This is usually a sign that it could use a re-lube to regain its original smoothness. Typically, you’ll notice a difference in sound or a slightly scratchy feel, which indicates it’s time to reapply lubricant. However, this doesn't affect the keyboard's functionality; it just helps reduce friction for a smoother typing experience. ^Sander
Thank you for the video, very well done! On one part you mention that also the bottom of the cylinder in the stem could be lubed, that’s a little bit confusing. I assume you don’t mean the clear metal part because that would cause problems with the distance measuring?
If you don't want to take apart the switch, you can also just lubricate the circle shaped hole under the switch where the cylinder shaped stem with magnet goes back and forth. The lube doesn't affect the magnet. It'll just go straight through it.
@@Wooting One other question. Can I use these little foam stickers which will be placed on the plate (so they will be right under the switches) or will these affect the performance in any way?
So everything was perfect until it was time to take the metal bar out of the stabilizer housings. There’s no explanation on how to remove it properly and I’m pretty sure I just broke the stem from removing the bar without explanation… can someone help explain how to remove metal stem from the end stabilizer housings?
are these switches tapered to support cherry profile keycaps in north-facing orientation? I've seen videos where they did not change the orientation while using cherry switches but did not mention anything about interference
Most Cherry profile keycaps don't interfere. But we have seen GMK sets having problems. In that case, you can always rotate the switch 180 degrees, and you are totally fine. :) ^Sander
@@Wooting is it because GMK keycaps are recessed and sit lower compared to generic cherry profile caps? by the way I must say that your comms is fantastic. the update videos and the responses on the channel are informative and transparent. I've been writing about consumer tech for a fair bit of time, and I cant recall many companies who are comparable in this aspect.
I watched badseeds latest mod of the wooting and there he used a similar switches to these and he said those are lubed well and didn't need lubing, and in the video he mentioned that he confirmed with you guys that the newer batches are factory lubed better? Is his description accurate?
what will happen if I do not lubricate the switches ? I want to buy the keyboard but I don't know if i really need to buy the lubricant, can someone help me please
As a complete noob to lubing keyboards.. Isn't using a lubed keyboard just asking for trouble in a somewhat dusty environment? Also, how do you clean off old dirty lube?
Stock it arrives with pre-lubed switches which are smooth out of the box. Optionally, you can hand-lube them further to get a different sound from them.
@@jtechmkb it’s very hard to do prelubed keyboards without major price increases, as its very labor intensive. It’s hard and expensive to automate, not to mention the fact that using too much or too little lube on the keys can cause it to not sound as good, so you would also need the automation to be very controlled and precise, meaning that practically speaking the only way to lube it with decent results would be by having someone hand lube rhe keyboard. This however greatly drives the price up as lubing can take up to an hour, which means you pay for lube, equipment, expertise, and the wage of the person lubing.
@@ProllyP Alright. I can understand this since my experiences on pre-lubed switches is very disappointing. You have a good point sir. I quote from the website, since Calder has written it so nicely 😁 "The new MCU compared to the current MCU is more powerful. That said, the current MCU still meets our requirements and expectations. There is no difference in performance and features for the time being. We can even guarantee that regardless of the MCU, you can and will enjoy the comparable features and performance up until January 2024. After this date, we expect to exceed the capabilities of the current MCU and can't make the same guarantee anymore. There will be one notable difference. The new MCU will have more available configuration slots for advanced features such as DKS, Mod-tap, and other potential advanced key configurations we might create. We expect the new MCU to store about twice the amount of slots thanks to its larger temporary memory (SRAM)." ^Sander
Sound comparison is pending. They are all pre lubed and it’s unlikely you’d need to grease the stabs. The switch can still make a difference with additional lube.
My keyboard doesn't even feel remotely close to how it did before lubricating it. I owned it for ~6+ months now, and just lubed them yesterday, and the difference is night and day. It's never felt this solid/smooth/buttery etc.
The switches come pre-lubed. Personally, hand-lubing it won't change the feel, as it is already fairly smooth. The most significant difference would be the sound profile.

So I'm in a dusty environment, lubing regular switches eventually leads to key chatter in a couple of months. Will this still be the case with the lekker switches?
What a great Video… Love it, its a very well explanation right here
13:00 I heard that you should put the switches south-facing if you have cherry profile keycaps that are not backlit. Is this true?
You need to see if the keycaps in row 3 collides with the switch. Usually only premium (GMK) Cherry profile keycaps have this issue. If that's the case, installing south facing will solve it yes.
I ordered can’t wait to receive it 👍🏽❤️
So nice that the wooting 60 he comes w a wire keycap puller
Hey, how long does it take for lubbing 60 Switch ?
Is lubing still worth it in the lekker v2 switches
Any chance wooting can make a 65 percent keyboard? I need arrow and delete keys for my work. I also need a small keyboard to travel and don't want to compromise
Should I clean the lube that is already on the switch before lubing them?
No necessarily.
please tell me that the screws at 2:30 was an oversight? There is no way that those were designed on purpose to be that small to be a pain in the ass to screw back in. I'm so frustrated trying to even line that shit up?
This is why good screwdrivers have a magnetic head 👍
@@Wooting yup I had to get a magnetic screw driver and then it was easy
I get lubing by hand(already are pre-lubed) improves the sound profile but does it make them any smoother? The switches already a lot more smooth than typical switches due to the different mechanism I'm skeptical lubing would make much difference in this regard.
It makes the feel more buttery, which feels smoother but isn't less frictionless if that makes sense. It makes a huge difference in sound, some in feel, a lot in typing experience.
Do the stabilizers come pre lubed?
is it possible to put my old stabilizer and plate onto the keyboard?
I'm glad this guide is so comprehensive, otherwise my keyboard would be cooked 💀
How often should you lubricate your keyboard with daily use? Just looking for a general timeline.

@ Wow. Always heard you guy’s customer service was outstanding. That was an incredible reply
@@Wooting One more question sorry! When you purchase replacement Lekkers from your site, do they come pre-lubed or is that up to the user?
They come factory pre-lubed, same like the switches that are pre-installed in the keyboard. :)
^Sander
Is it necessary to lube the switches for a new keyboard or is it already pre lubed?
They come pre-lubed and are smooth out of the box. Lubing them manually on top of that just changes the sound a bit.
@@Wooting i love your "two HE" but as it seems to me the bottom case is made of ABS. Isn't there an aluminum option?
Thank you for the video, very well done! On one part you mention that also the bottom of the cylinder in the stem could be lubed, that’s a little bit confusing. I assume you don’t mean the clear metal part because that would cause problems with the distance measuring?
If you don't want to take apart the switch, you can also just lubricate the circle shaped hole under the switch where the cylinder shaped stem with magnet goes back and forth. The lube doesn't affect the magnet. It'll just go straight through it.
@@Wooting thank you!
@@Wooting One other question. Can I use these little foam stickers which will be placed on the plate (so they will be right under the switches) or will these affect the performance in any way?
after seeing you take the whole keyboard apart to not damage anything I decided to not lube mine ^^
Will we ever get a chance to have this in the Philippines?
So everything was perfect until it was time to take the metal bar out of the stabilizer housings. There’s no explanation on how to remove it properly and I’m pretty sure I just broke the stem from removing the bar without explanation… can someone help explain how to remove metal stem from the end stabilizer housings?
Hi do a spray dry lube PTFE can work on the lekker switches to thx ?
That I can't answer. Never tried.
@@Wooting ok thx for the reply
Hi !Do i have to lub the switches just with krytox 205g0 or another one is good ?
I live in the Philippines and I tried ordering the Wooting Two HE but it doesn’t support my address please help.
Unfortunately we don't support the Philippines now due to complications with shipping. I'm sorry. :(
^Sander
@@Wooting I understand your concern.
My switches are not removable? Is that possible? Almost broke them and not able to pull out :(
Is it possible to lube the Two HE, the same way, and dismantle it safely ?
Yes, it's even a little bit easier, as you'd remove the switch plate from the PCBA direct.
@@Wooting Awesome, thx !
Isn‘t the 60HE pre lubed? 🤔
It is, but it's always on the safe side for the switches. Best job is always you own job.
With a brand new board is it worth lubricating straight away?
are these switches tapered to support cherry profile keycaps in north-facing orientation? I've seen videos where they did not change the orientation while using cherry switches but did not mention anything about interference
Most Cherry profile keycaps don't interfere. But we have seen GMK sets having problems. In that case, you can always rotate the switch 180 degrees, and you are totally fine. :)
^Sander
@@Wooting is it because GMK keycaps are recessed and sit lower compared to generic cherry profile caps? by the way I must say that your comms is fantastic. the update videos and the responses on the channel are informative and transparent. I've been writing about consumer tech for a fair bit of time, and I cant recall many companies who are comparable in this aspect.
Out of subject but great haircut sir 🤝
I watched badseeds latest mod of the wooting and there he used a similar switches to these and he said those are lubed well and didn't need lubing, and in the video he mentioned that he confirmed with you guys that the newer batches are factory lubed better? Is his description accurate?
what will happen if I do not lubricate the switches ? I want to buy the keyboard but I don't know if i really need to buy the lubricant, can someone help me please
The switches come pre-lubed, so there is no need to lube them. Lubing them only changes the sound of the switch.
^Sander
@@Wootingthank god 🙏🙏
Can I buy screw-in stabilizers for the 60HE?
no
Only plate-mounted stabs are supported on the 60HE.
^Sander
@@Wooting are screw in stabs something in the question for the next one?
@@EF.BE.I We have taken note of the feedback, but for now no expectations that it'll become an option.
As a complete noob to lubing keyboards.. Isn't using a lubed keyboard just asking for trouble in a somewhat dusty environment? Also, how do you clean off old dirty lube?
Can you link me the music used in this video?
Been a bit of a while, so don't know what it was anymore.
We usually use music provided by Artlist.io, so it isn't available online anywhere really.
Are HyperX Pudding keycaps compatible?
They should be compatible, yes. Upon a quick glance they have the same sizes.
@@Wooting thanks
hey! just got my wooting delivered. QQ - do I need to lube it if it is a brand new one or after a while of using?
Stock it arrives with pre-lubed switches which are smooth out of the box. Optionally, you can hand-lube them further to get a different sound from them.
@@Wooting sweet! Thank you.
Btw. Amazing piece of equipment so far :)
Nice! this should have a lubed version of the retail. I like all the reviews of this keyboard, hope it's worth the wait. :)
Did you mean a hand lubed version in the store or?
^Sander
@@Wooting Pre-built with a lubed version of the switches. I think that will make sense. So you guys can give better options. :)
Being a local keyboard modder here in my location I can relate to what you are trying to point out. Hope I can get one this year though. Thanks and more power to you guys! ⌨️☝️
The costs would be ridiculous. That's a 5 hour job. Took me 7 but I'm slow.
so... i shouldnt just submerge the whole kb in hydraulic oil?
I mean... you do you, haha. But we wouldn't recommend that no. 😌
@@Wooting since I caught your attention, I have a serious question to ask... Would you consider making a framework 16 keyboard module? Sure it's only 1.5mm travel, but I would buy it if you could cram in a smaller analog switch there (I can't wait to try my 60HE! And with the framework, when it arrives in December!)
@@CMDRunemattiLaptop keyboards are a different game entirely, it'll take quite some R&D to make a laptop version. It's definitely possible, but it'll just not be the same.
@@Wooting i know it wouldnt be the same but it would be still better than any laptop keyboard, anyway, its just for consideration :) the framework has a similar idea to your product, modular and gives power back to the user.
the keycaps at the start of the vid... where can i get them!!!!???
Working on it. 😃
We will update once we have more news, of course.
^Sander
I thought that all the switches were pre-lubed? Would I have to clean the switches first?
The switches are factory pre-lubed, but a DIY job would always do a better job at it. You don't need to clean your switches, just make sure you use a thin coating. 😄
^Sander
i am watching this video even though you dont ship to morocco i am consulting your website everyday to see if there is an update hopefully you will be able to ship to morocco soon

@@Wooting oh wow! Great! I have searched all the information about it on google but all is not available hahaha! So how long release it?
does having the ARM or AVR make a big difference for gaming?
I quote from the website, since Calder has written it so nicely 😁
"The new MCU compared to the current MCU is more powerful.
We expect the new MCU to store about twice the amount of slots thanks to its larger temporary memory (SRAM)."

What watch are you wearing?
arent the 60he's switches/stabs prelubed and greased? is there a sound comparison between the stock factory lube and lubing them yourself?
Sound comparison is pending. They are all pre lubed and it’s unlikely you’d need to grease the stabs. The switch can still make a difference with additional lube.
@@Wooting i see, im not a big lubing/customs guy in general but this seems very interesting!
My keyboard doesn't even feel remotely close to how it did before lubricating it. I owned it for ~6+ months now, and just lubed them yesterday, and the difference is night and day. It's never felt this solid/smooth/buttery etc.
Anyone know what keycaps they are? they clean asf
Do I really need to lube the switches from a factory new 180 Euro keyboard? I’m still waiting for my wooting, but I’m just wondering
No you don't. They come pre-lubed and are smooth from the start. Lubing will mostly just change the sound.
factory lube is around as good as a hand lube batch, and lekker switches are smooth enough that you won't really notice the difference.
Do you need to lube it straight out the box? or does it come pre-lubed?
The switches come pre-lubed. Personally, hand-lubing it won't change the feel, as it is already fairly smooth. The most significant difference would be the sound profile.
so how often should I lube my 60he
Can i put them in every Keyboard?
If you mean the Lekker switches, no. Those are only compatible with our own Wooting keyboards.
