- For all those who've been wanting some CSN - here's a whole lot of it.
Myles Pinder on high parts, Tanner walter on middle and 12 string guitar, Josh Turner on low parts and six string. 12 string is a much-modified Ibanez PF5-12, six is a Martin 000-28H.
Recorded on a Canon Rebel T3i and an iPhone 5 (thanks Tanner). Audio recorded through a PreSonus AudioBox 44VSL into Pro Tools.
As always, your thoughts, questions and critiques are always appreciated. I will try to answer all questions.
I’ve been playing your music for a beautiful woman who is affected by prefrontal aphasia. It’s a degenerative brain disease. She loved music. Could sing every song known to man. She listens for a couple hours after dinner tonight. I showed her how we give thumbs up. After the last song we all clapped. I said “I love those guys. They are so good!” She laughed with agreement which is big because she can no longer communicate verbally anymore. So thank you all for your music. You touch more people than you think in such important and amazing ways. Thank you one and all. Well done.
I love these guys too. Thanks for sharing your story. I am currently writing a paper for my BSN on the effect of music on ICU delirium and sedation needs for patients on ventilators. Music is more than entertainment... it is one of the most profoundly important influences on human neurology ever. Keep up the wonderful work you are doing... whether that work is professional or simply personal.

Dang that’s touching. God bless her!
❤
God bless you both
Im 150 years old and I remember listening to this when i was in my 80s i feel like a kid again thank you boys
HAHAHA!!!!
talk about hilarious comments!
Lestat lives
I was 99 when the virus struck. A couple months of self-isolation later I got to around 155. Then I found Josh's music channel and now I'm a sprightly 42. 🙂 (acknowledgements to Douglas Adams)
My old friend, it's so good to meet you again!
I’m 68 and grew up with CSN..You guys killed it with this arrangement. Absolutely loved it!!
You're not alone...I grew with them and they still stay nearby...This arrangement is so clean...👏👏👏👏
I am a veteran of the Siege of Carthage and I know something about old music. This brought a tear to my eye. It is great to see young people today enjoying the classics.
lmfaoooo
Ha
LOL I can relate
buddy, which side were you on ?
was Hannibal really what he was cracked up to be? LOL
I love how every person Josh ever hangs out with is a top shelf performer.
Greatness attracks greatness.
Ahaha I always think the same thing!
Josh is a gateway drug to good youtube
Owen Brasseau. LITERALLY- JUST found HIM!
Nan ‘59 welcome to the party lol
Josh .....,.I'm 68 years old , you and your friends take me back to a time that I will never forget . Music has been my life and I so thank ya'll for making it live again . Keep on , brother !!!!
Ditto Red Dog. We grew up in a time of REAL music. These kids get it..You should hear their own songs...WOW.
1952
1951
Same here - Sounds better than original - at least now it does!
Red Dog me too I’m overcome with your music!
Oct. 2023 and stillcoming here regularly to hear one of the best CSN covers ever! You guys have no idea the impact you'd have recording and posting this.
Great job! I searched for this tune after hearing that David Crosby passed, then saw that JOSH covered it and came in for a listen. Bravo!
You should listen to foxes and fossils cover...It's fantastic!
I am a Vietnam veteran and I will be 70 years old this coming March 2019!
I have heard some really good music in my lifetime and have listened to tons and tons of “musicians“. I have been following Josh for a few months now and it seems that he just gets better and better on each and every video!
This young man is very talented and unpretentious!
As a matter fact he has inspired me to go out and buy a good high-quality guitar and take lessons.
For whatever time I have left here on earth I intend to “play my best“. I just hope I can get one 1,000‘s as good as he is!
All I can say to josh is… I really appreciate your good Music and please keep up the good work! warmest regards, Frank.
@Frank Carrio - If I ever see you, and you drink, drinks are on me.
I hope you got a guitar and are having fun with it.
Frank Carrio Right On!
Frank Carrio thank you for your service. I am proud of you
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE FRANK! WE ARE IN YOUR DEBT. I hope we can play a song together one day.
I get chills listening to this cat, he covers a few tunes better than the originals. When he finds his own voice and style he's going to knock the world on its ass! May the gods smile upon his wildest dreams.
Nah, overstated.
He has his own music. Check out Joshua Lee Turner’s album “Public Life.” Especially the tracks “Belle” and “Like Lightning.”
I love seeing the kids paying homage to the great tunes of my youth. Very impressive skills all around. 🎉
listening to this in April 2020, when the city was fully locked down. This precious piece of music is what connects minds and memories together across countries and continents in this special moment of mankind's history !
Xinqi a thread of sanity works like a life ring for me now!
Xinqi,
God bless you! January 12, 2021……It is almost one year later…… worldwide 90,666,584 people have been infected and 1,942,463 people have died from this horrible pandemic.
I hope that you and your family survived this coronavirus pandemic And may you live a long and prosperous life.
Warmest regards from The United States and the the state of New Hampshire. Sincerely, Mr. Carrio💕❤️💞
@@frankcarrio 2/20/21 - Over a month later severe winter storms have caused food shortages and massive power outages throughout large parts of the US but we persevere and reconnect, the snow melts, the trucks refuel and return, and we restock for the next challenge. We don't control what comes our way, we do control how we respond to it, and I'd rather greet it with a smile and a song shared with stranger-friends across time and the net.
"Fear is the lock and laughter the key to your heart."

@@frankcarrio Frank, I live on the Seacoast and I’d love to see to see Josh and The Other Guys come to the Seacoast. I found Josh during the Pandemic myself. What a blessing!
I'll be honest. When I first saw the link for this video, I thought "Hmm...let's see how bad this kid hacks this song". Keep in mind that this was one of my favorite songs in High School (yea, I'm an old fart). Boy! Was I ever wrong! You nailed it! CSN would be proud.
I just happened on this video and thought the EXACT SAME THING! Hahaha! These guys were AMAZING!! Well done!!
Seems to be a common theme on this comment section..... Josh, were you born with a guitar on your hands? You look so comfortable. Well done young man........
I love the random lyric call outs. It's like old-time community sings, complete with those harmonies, but instead of Americana and hymns, its these glorious cover tunes.
Very nicely done guys. Few people have the talent to attempt this song. Thanks for a performance I could sit all the way through and smile the whole time.
I am one trillion years old and this took me back to the infinite black void in which I waited for a random quantum fluctuation to cause a Big Bang and the creation of the universe. Great job.
Never heard a better cover of this song.
I would suggest checking out Foxes and Fossils' cover of this song. I'm not saying it's better, but it's worth checking out.
Try Foxes and Fossils!
Foxes and Fossils had to use girls for their harmonies. Kind of like racing with nitrous oxide instead of a well built engine.
Agreed. Foxes and Fossils is an amazing and talented group. Definitely going to buy their music. Their version is spectacular--especially love the bass line :-D But something about this version is just better than anything I've heard out there. I think it's the chill groove they have. Josh's guitar playing is so intricate and accurate yet effortless. Their tone is superb. The cover by the Shadowboxers was pretty good, especially the end, but they kinda over did it to be completely honest.
You’re stupid
I challenge anyone suffering the blues to try staying down after this amazingly sublime 7 minutes and 25 seconds.
OMG this is a perfect cover... So good...
Not an easy song to cover!!! Great job!! You all three rocked it! Song goes through so many changes and moods... Tanner steps up and kills Steve Stills part in Spanish at the end... it was ice cream on the cake! Hot and sweet!
I'm a guitar player singer songwriter and a really huge and long time CSN&Y fan. There isn't a tutorial on the entire internet with even a properly-tuned guitar, much less a competent instructional on how to play this song. I managed to nearly get it down by braille and YOUR rendition will help me to really nail it. I'm a critical S.O.B. and I got nothin'...
EXCEPT PRAISE!
This is a really outstanding cover of one of my favorite all-time songs.
Thanks
arsalmonar pretty sure Marty music has a tutorial now
He has a hell of an ear...
Please listen to Foxes and Fossils do this song...Amazing!!!! and Helplessly Hoping!!
I'm 70, and was smitten with CSN back when... (not to dis CSN&Y) Whatever it was that is attracting you Josh to these treasureable songs I am greatful for. Thank you for being you and for bringing the dead back to life ! OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE by all. Hats off! 🎩❗
Something very special about this tune when it's done properly. AS IT IS HERE.
And I like that dude's face on the left. I'd rock that smirk too if I could sing that well :-)
Stunning accomplishment! Y'all are great!
Makes you appreciate that song all over again, and realize why very few musicians will ever be able to cover it. 🤠
jOSH'S COVERS are a deep black hole...once you played one, you can't stop...SO GOOD!
I have listened to this song for over 47 yrs since high school... Best performance since then...👍🏼
Foxes and Fossils is better in my opinion, but this is very good. Even if they had to be reminded of the lyrics.
Josh and Company: Just a great perfomrance that evidences a lot of practice and time spent working together. This song has all kinds of trick turns, both on the harmonies and the open tuning fingering. But you guys manuevered them all with the skill of true professionals. Very proud of your determination to stick with the original song and simply apply your own energies behind it. Bravo. This perfomance will be seen as exceptional by many, including CS&N.
Amazingly beautiful I can't believe anyone would try that song much less pull it off so well
Hands done, BAR NONE, best cover of Judy Blue Eyes I've ever heard.
I agree the best version done by "KIDS WHO WRE NOT BORN WHEN THIS SONG APPEARED AT WOODSTOCK..WE BE OLD AND PROUD.".Keep up the good work Josh Turner and Company.
@@michaelvaladez6570 I TOTALLY agree!!! :D
I dunno. Foxes & Fossils have a fine rendition, as well.
All I can say is "carry on" gentlemen! The music of Crosby, Stills and Nash is timeless and will never be forgotten as long as talented musicians like you step up to cover their songs. Thank you!❤
All the harmonies, without the egos and pretentiousness. 😉
And Drama. CSN was nothing but endless Drama.
They were, their music was not.
and drugs.

One of my favourite CSN tunes. To be honest, I only listened because I wanted to hate it!
However, you guys did an excellent job. I loved it. Well done.
Nicap2 can't hate on this
I enjoy Josh's performances, but he also has a distinct ability to jam with so many great musicians. It's clear that, no matter who he plays music with, everyone has a great time. That energy makes it into each recording and we're the better for it. Thanks, man!
This Josh Turner is great. I really enjoy listening to him and his friends. Pure talent.
I am a diehard CSN fan and have been for 40+ years. CSN harmonies are not easy, but, you guys have them covered. You guys are good!
Absolute genius - one of those rare occasions when the copy is equal if not better than the original. Perfect guitar accompaniment!
Mile buiochas !
Incredible cover! Pure precision on the guitar parts from the dude in the red shirt! Great work!
Bravo to this fabulous young guitar player . Stephen Stills would be surprised as the rest of the people who watchin' it ❤❤❤❤
From Tangier , you won an old guy suscriber ....
You guys are awesome! I’m from Brazil and love your performance. Once I watched a video Josh playing with DeSilva singing Waters of March in Portuguese and was amazing!!
Sensational. The harmonies were spot-on. I don't know that this song can be covered any better than that.
Your voice ms blend so perfectly for this song!!
These guys are REALLY good.....I came of age in the late 60s and early 70s, and its so nice to see younger musicians carrrying on the music of this era. Love it!
In 1977, I was 12 and gifted a box full of albums from the 60’s and early seventies, from my aunt Debbie. These albums included Cream ‘Disraeli Gears,’ Blind Faith, Iron Butterfly ‘Inna Gadda da vida’(sp?), three Grand Funk Railroad albums, The Beatles ‘White Album’ and many more. My favorite by far was the Woodstock album and my favorite song on the album was Suite: Judy Blues Eyes. This brings me much joy to see young people keeping these songs alive! I can’t thank you enough! Great job....Keep ‘me coming!
Kudos to your Aunt Debbie on her great taste in music ... and her kindness to you. Gifting music (or literature) can positively impact a younger person’s life ... or at least open their minds and ears to new things. I’ve seen it happen.
That was goddamned amazing boys my hope in humanity is quite possibly restored.
my late older brother would've loved this.... wow. just great. real talent still exists....
my late youngest brother as well 🤗
Well done young lads. You make me actually have hope in the new generation of singers and musicians. Keep playing the classics and your way will be clear in your future. Peace.
As a long-time CSN Fan, that brought a tear to the eye -both in how well it was played and the grace and respect the 3 shared with each other. Well Done!
I’m 16 and this type of music is my favourite and they play it so well and effortlessly, I could listen to you play all day, you guys are amazing, you have earned my respect
The fact you had the guts to attempt this Woodstock masterpiece and then nail it speaks volumes as to your combined self belief and musical ability.I am in awe…..
Another great performance from Josh and friends. I'm 65 and appreciate that these young musicians play a variety of music, including some from "my time."
One cannot be sad after listening to this song. It's simply impossible Great job!
I find myself coming back to watch this often.. You three killed this take!! One of the best covers I've heard! Bravo gentlemen..
I could watch this video all day long.....love singing along with it too
I first saw CSNY in the 1970s at Winterland, San Francisco. When they sang and played this song, it was just embarrassing - the guitar, the vocals, the whole song was out of tune, uncoordinated, out of balance. It sounded NOTHING like the recording. THIS, however, is really fun and wonderful. The guitar work by this young guy playing a Martin was something to be truly proud of. Thank you for these vocals and guitars of a truly beautiful song as we approach New Year's Eve! Happy New Year, guys!
I'm only 63 and i can tell you ...this is damn good. Keep the faith !!
This is beautiful harmony - just beautiful. I grew up to this music and love to hear this played so perfectly in present day!
Wish I could give this another thumbs up every time I watch this! Very good. CSN would be proud.
So very well done youngersters! Loved it then...love it now!
Oh lordy lordy lordy, this is beyond fantastic.
It just can’t get any better than this .... a total joy to watch and enjoy!
it can and has gotten better than this. give Foxes and Fossils cover of this a try.
I may have left a comment before but I’m leaving another one because yeah.
This is soul music thank y’all so much
I have a pretty big library and this is top shelf as is most of joshs’ music
He’s so simply brilliant and everyone that he works with.
Always a pleasure. Thank you so much. ❤️
Used to do this with my group. This was perfect. Thumbs up
Tanner Walter starting at 6:41 covering the Spanish bits, wow!! I love this song since forever. But I keep clicking back to 6:41 over and over! Spectacular job guys!!! Reaffirms my love of music all over again!!!
Dwight B same here
Guy in the orange has a beautiful tenor voice..
+Benny G But dat facial experession...
+Benny G You dont suppose that's why Josh has him in this group do you???
+ObscurityIsBest I know. so cringe worthy
Wow.
He Really does---something about his tone is just great. Kinda of a Christopher Cross feel or something.
I guess I can't like this more than once. A masterpiece played my master musicians. Thanks for allowing another visit.
Thanks you for keeping that classic alive, musically and vocally. Youth is NOT wasted on the young!!!
I keep coming back to this....I honestly believe I like it better than the original !!! ...I'm not sure tho.....I'll let you know after I listen to it a couple hundred more times...lol...Sincerely guys..this is GREAT !!!!
This channel just randomly appeared on my recommendations - and I am blown away. What an astonishingly talented group of musicians these are! I’ve yet to listen to a song yet that I haven’t absolutely adored. So... serious props to the algorithm that does the recommending.
I'm 89 years old and I just lost my bowells listening to that
Oh my.
That is alarming. I hope you find them soon!
That’s nothing. I am 98 and I lost both my bowel and bladder contents listening to that....🤓
😂
Lol 😂
Josh and friends - it is 1/17/2021 and we are "seniors" (but....we're still cool!) and we have a band that hasn't performed in a year now - but we are folk rock and LOVE doing CS&N, etc. We are still in self-imposed lock down. Not sure how we missed hearing this one before, as we have caught several of your videos over the years. BUT - this gave us happy heart today. We KNOW how much rehearsal goes into pulling this off, even if you're excellent musicians which you are. We appreciate every single little everything that you put into it - nothing is lost on us!!! SO happy to see younger musicians embrace and emulate greatness, and do it in such a respectable and honorable way. We are just impressed to the moon, and you make us happy. What more could you want?? lol
Very good cover of this classic. Josh especially good on the Stephen Stills parts. There's a group called Foxes and Fossils who also do an excellent version.
Yupper, they do a great job as well. TV sets on sort of spoiled the mood on that video.
As all the others comment I find your music very nice to hear and makes me happy all the time watching
Thanks

@@Rickimusic The owner of that bar where Foxes and Fossils performed should be confined to hard labor for not turning off those damned TVs while that magnificent group debuted their magic onto the world. And not just because they’re great-it’s rude for any performer in your joint to have to perform under running TV screens.
@@jefffinkbonner9551 agreed.
Hard to take on one of the most miraculous harmony groups of all time , but you did it well.
The way these guys giggle after they're finished with the song says a lot. What pure hearts. If only I could go back in time before battles of the Bands and competitions and Star Wars...To have that purity and my whole life ahead of me. If I only knew what I had and was capable of back then, I wouldn't be reduced to a steady diet of government cheese living in a van down by the river.
Oh yeah and to the hundred and twenty people that didn't like this video and gave it a thumbs down... my first thoughts were to figure out new cuss words to hurl at them. But then I realized that you pretty much have to be dead in your heart to not see the beauty in these three young men. I wonder what it must be like to be inside their heads. It's got to be simply unbearable to be them.
OMG The last time that was played that well there were nearly a half million people listening.
I was nineteen then.
You guys absolutely nailed a CSN great 👍!
Thank you.
Agreed.... never have i seen a cover that good of this
Listen&Learn ---- Yes !!! Woodstock, August, 1969 !!!!!!
One million 300 thousand plus have listened to these amazing guys do this amazing song.
One of my favorite songs of all times. You're bringing it (and a bunch of my other faves) to a new generation to appreciate it. My husband who a classical guitar player and Dead head (What a combo eh?) is especially impressed by the highly skilled crop of young performers who embrace bluegrass which I heard on several other of your posts so thanks for filling the world with awesome tunes and croons!
Miriam Green Yay bluegrass!
So good. Tanner is my grand-son.
You must be very proud of him!
I wish I knew these fine folks personally!
This is refreshing!
After all these years, I finally heard this part clearly!! Had no idea what they were saying on the original.@Chad Thompson
Big shout out from Ireland and these guys would be loved here. Your Grandson, wow! Be very proud, soooooo talented. These guys voices are incredible all together.
A lovely rendition -- terrific harmonies, great guitar playing; just wonderful. Well done! Encore?
This. Is. Sooooo. Good... Kudos
He and his fellow performers are treasures! Love them ....💞💞
That was truly outstanding! Josh has done it again.
Another great job...saw them live in concert back in the 80s...you guys have really found their amazing and unique vocal harmony. Heys in all the right places. No female singers. Awesome guitar w/slapping. Hard not to imagine it's the original artists performing!! OMG, even the Spanish!
Wow! Very well done fellas!
Incredible guys! I love it. Harmonies, playing. Everything. Killer!
I’m glad I’m a new follower. I have so much to catch up on! Thank you Josh and friends!
I am listening to this version years and years, I will never grow tired of it. I really hope it will never be taken down
Grew up on CSN&Y. In fact, the only live concert I would attend. I joined Columbia Record Club back then and 4 Way Street was one of my first album purchases!! This was an amazing rendition! CS&N would be proud.
Awesome job on the guitar, Josh!
Damn fine job guys!!
(edit) after watching this video at least 30 times, I've decided that my favorite part is where Myles discretely and thoughtfully shows the phone (lyrics) to Tanner just before and while Tanner sings his part during to do-do-do-do-dos
Seeing the carefully reconstructed music and lyrics this gives me new respect for the original artists and your band!
Can't see a CSN cover being better than this, love the live performance - you guys keep it real.
This is just thrilling. My heart was racing at the end.
Absolutely amazing
Knocked IT Our of tje park
Amazing! Live, full of energy, powerful. Great live one track and audo. Josh is an gifted guitarist who has a great ear. This is some tough harmony to keep on track. Good job fellows!
Who needs CSN, this level of talent is just tremendous.
I love this! This song was stuck in my head , so good! Three very talented musicians. I love the joy they convey in their music. I wish they lived close to me so I could enjoy in person.

I thought I'd NEVER hear this sound from my youth again. At almost 69, you made the sun rise for me on those golden years again.
