Yeah so true. Colin took decades of rallying knowledge on how to go fast and thought "what a load of pish" and proceeded to drive in a way that had him sort out corners 10 metres before the actual corner and be full throttle accelerating away even before the apex. That man had one hell of a set of baws, by the age of 22 he was faster than his father who had won the British Rally Championship five times. If you've never listened to any of Nicky Grist's stories on Colin (like this one ua-cam.com/video/UURYpj4imcM/v-deo.html) they are truly inspiring.
Mr Fail Race. I too am a fan of McRae. I was in Chester that day in 1995, I have a collection of his cars and a signed copy of Colin McRae Rally by the man himself and Nicky Grist for the PS1. Keep the videos coming.
I think what got you on the Sweden stage was breaking the radiator on the Cossie, body damage isn't really an issue as it can be kicked or hammered back into some sort of shape as long as it isn't big damage as caused by a multiple barrel roll. But on long loops of stages with no service then relatively minor issues like a damaged radiator or other minor mechanical ills can easily put a car out of the event, as a lot of crews have found out down the years...
If I hadn't read the full title I would have thought this was a flatout video..either way there's enough mayhem and damage that this works just as well
Actually, monsters jumping out of the dark forest while you're racing through it or some angry predators chasing you along the fields would spice the game up significantly!
I grew up watching Colin race from rally to the X-games because of Colin We have amazing drivers like Ken Block and Tanner Foust and so many others and Colin is the reason I love rally #ifindoubtflatout
If you want to make Sweden easier on yourself, you can just drive a car with rounded front corners, and then it won't grab it and flip it around when you touch the bank
I remember those 95-2000 days when they made it on main stream tv. Loved Colin obviously but for me it was all about Tommi Makinen. I always prefered the Evo to the subaru.
I honestly don't get why Sierra has steering on the left side, while the Peugeot on the right ... It should be the other way around by my opinion, shoudln't it ? :D ... Otherwise great video as always :)
