Not that I’m too bothered by it personally, but it’s definitely one of those things that’s generally considered taboo to reference. Persona 3 is absolutely amazing, Orpheus only or not. Everytime I playthrough and beat it, and every time I hear Kimi no Kyouku, I still tear up a bit. It was probably the first game that I truly felt sad about beating due to how connected I felt to everything regarding it. The party members are my favorite, as their character developments never just end when their dungeon is finished. They constantly change through the whole game, and their growth isn't just determined by their own Social Links. Love this game and I hope Atlus will care enough to do a full remake with P5-Level Assets and Polish.
Same here, except instead of Persona 3 it's Persona 5. I honestly kinda "grew up" with the Phantom Thieves and knowing we might get a new Persona game in the future, meaning there's gonna be a new cast, it's hard to let them go. It's kinda a hard-to-swallow pill
PATFORMER I’m perfectly fine with her existence, I just don’t like the option to romance Ken and the fact that if you finish shinji’s social link he survives
I'm pretty sure that weird box is because the blinking sprite is just a temporary overlay over the character image which the emulator fails to align properly.
I've seen discussions that you should start with Nocturne as your gateway to SMT but people here are saying it's a hard game so I'm confused. Is it a hard game in general or is it a hard without buffs?
@@rokia360 in general, and the people saying you should start with nocturne are probably blinded by nostalgia or something. its a GREAT game, but by god does it delight into kicking your fucking teeth in. playing it without buffs is the equivalent of walking up to a violent grizzly bear and not only kicking it in the balls, but taking off your pants and bending over for it to boot.
Truth be told nocturne isn't that hard when you get into the groove of things. I mean yeah you're gonna die a bit early game and late game a certain amount of bosses will kick your teeth in but ultimately speaking it's not that hard it's not like someone's suggesting you start off playing strange journey or something.

I gotta say this is a great way to start the decade. Persona 3 honestly doesn’t get as much love as Persona 4 and Persona 5 even though it has a great cast, a overall good storyline that make sense in the future games, and great Persona’s. I started the Persona series with the 3rd installment and I have to say. That persona 3 means more to me than the other sequels sure I love P4 and P5 all the same but those events would’ve never happened without P3. Persona 3 is the best persona game and I’m proud.
I have a ps2, ps3, and ps4. Sure, I don't need the ps2, since the ps4 can play ps2 games. But why would you buy a vita for just one game? Get a ps3. It can play games for ps 1, 2, and 3. Ps4 can only play ps4 games.
Sierra Fry ps vita/tv versus getting a ps3, I'd say a vita/tv is better because p1,2 and 4 have there definitive editions while PS3 has the og games and few. And p3p is just as good as FES if not better.
Reverof Enola I was too but in fes skill cards aren’t a thing and the only way to get him better moves is creating him via fusion with fool personas while portable has skill cards it’s much more simple basically it’s way more difficult to do it on fes while portable is the best way to go for a Orpheus only run
I can confirm, skill cards are not a thing in FES. I was so confused reading game guides and fusion lists because a lot of people didn't label the guides for the different versions. Also, you can't really control party members in FES. You can give a bit more specific guidelines, but you can't control what skills they keep or any battle action between skills/physical attacks/running away. Instead of them being "playable" characters, they are party NPC's.
Im playing P3FES in my PS2 whit this challenge: -No New game+ -Only Fusion & Play Personas whit "The fool" arcana. -Max dificulty. -I must complete all Elizabeth time-limit quest. So... The First block is prety much the same. PD: Sorry if i have a bad inglish
Megidolaon was probably nerfed because in FES, I remember enemies using it, such as the Reaper literally one shotting my entire party of 85+ characters. Probably a enemies balance thing rather than the players
I tried to defeat Nyx Avatar with my original, level 99 Orpheus. I didn't teach him any skills other than the ones he learns from leveling up. I eventually did succeed, but it took absolutely friggin' forever. Keep in mind I only did that for the Nyx Avatar battle. For some reason I thought it would be a fitting, and poetic final battle by finishing it with the original Orpheus. Instead all I got was lots of pain, and tears. That didn't stop me though since I did that as well with Erebus in FES.

@@n-extrafries-surprise When it comes to attacks, we could actually retain the moves in Pokemon, just re-appropriate them for the smt framework. Instead of Pokemon types for affinities, we can go along the lines of Fire, Water (including Ice), Lightning, Wind (i.e. Flying/wind related moves), Nature (i.e. Grass/Poison/Ground), Magic (Fairy/Dragon), Mind (i.e. Psychic) and Dark. Physical types like Steel, Fighting and Normal can easily be refit into Slash, Strike, and Pierce. And if you're wondering "where's bug, ghost and rock?" Honestly one of my favorite rewatch videos. I watched this on a slow night when it came up in my recommended after beating persona 5. It was also what got me to emulate and play persona 3 which subsequently became one of my favorite games
It would be awesome if they remade it with both the male and female protagonist, adding the animated anime cutscenes to the female protagonist. Heck, they could just keep P3 FES graphics, and I would be a happy man.
Haha, I know the portrait blinking problem he's talking about. In the visual novel cutscenes, the game seamlessly flashes a matching layer of the characters' closed eyes over the open eyes. Emulators do a bad job hiding layered images and textures tho.

Glad you lightly addressed the story at the end. Cause this whole time I was like, "Who the hell plays through a Persona game for just the gameplay?" Then you say this is your fourth time. Now it all makes sense haha. Great video. Anyone reading this who hasn't played this game, still do it. He wasn't kidding at the end when he sang its praises, and he skipped over a ton of stuff. Even summarizing entire social links by saying, "I did the social link for this arcana," doesn't cover the entire story of that link. He mentioned how this is a loooooong game, and he couldn't touch on practically any of the story or else this video would be like 5 hours long even summarizing it. Even knowing the broad strokes of what happens, that isn't the same as playing it, yourself. The story gets tailor-made to you, in a way, as how you choose to spend your in-game time informs the character and what he ultimately decides to do at the end. He was tearing up at the end with good reason, and he ain't the only one. This is a difficult game (especially if you're playing P3FES where there's no direct command over your party), but it's absolutely doable if you play it smart and heed the game's warnings about how to succeed.
Persona 3 is literally my favorite game ever, I was getting goosebumps and almost tearing up in the ending (fun fact: it took me quite some months after beating the game to be able to listen to the credits song again). This seems to be a really fun run! It seems after you got Orpheus' stats pretty high you could just snowball through everything. I'm now motivated to replay P3 after beating P4G that was recently released on Steam. Also, I really do prefer the P3P presentation, first because I really like the Visual Novel presentation, which I believe really improves the immersion, and second because moving around is so easy using the pointer instead of walking around.

I played around and tweaked the settings a biut in the PSP Emulator when I played Persona3Portable on it. To get rid of the box outline when the characters are blinking, u have to first turn on buffered rendering, then set the rendering resolution to 2x PSP and set the Postprocessing shader to FXAA Antialiasing. P.S. If the game crashes in some parts of Tartarus, u have to switch the CPU core in the Developer tools to Interpreter. It significantly slows the game down, especially on lower end devices, but once u get through the moment where the game crashes, u can switch back to Dynarec JIT for best performance. If u're playing on an iPhone, then switch to IR Interpreter since Dynarec JIT is unavailable there.
Nyarly, I just wanted to say I am really inspired by you. You clearly mention that you have a low-end laptop and that you have trouble with your setup.
The original Persona 4 is for PS2. Why would you need a Vita, unless playing Golden?
I have a ps2, ps3, and ps4. Sure, I don't need the ps2, since the ps4 can play ps2 games. But why would you buy a vita for just one game?
Get a ps3. It can play games for ps 1, 2, and 3. Ps4 can only play ps4 games.
That way, you can get Persona 1 and 2: IS/EP as well.
Is it worth buying a PS Vita just to play Persona 4?
Sierra Fry ps vita/tv versus getting a ps3, I'd say a vita/tv is better because p1,2 and 4 have there definitive editions while PS3 has the og games and few. And p3p is just as good as FES if not better.
Not gonna lie...I was expecting him to play the FES version lol.

Even knowing the broad strokes of what happens, that isn't the same as playing it, yourself. The story gets tailor-made to you, in a way, as how you choose to spend your in-game time informs the character and what he ultimately decides to do at the end.
I'll try to keep this in mind since I think emulation is a far superior option to playing the game on the original hardware.
