Thank you for sharing this message ❤️ I am a professional pet groomer who does not require my clients to vaccinate their pets for bordetella. It is refreshing to hear your feelings about that vaccination as a veterinarian. My vet pushes it with every client that enters their animal hospital. He is always encouraging me to vaccinate my dog too because he goes to work with me every day in my grooming salon. Regardless of the fact that he doesn’t even know the conditions of my salon. No crating, no cage drying, sanitized daily as well as I am very familiar with my client pets. Thanks again for breathing some fresh air on this subject👏👏
i actually felt like you were talking to me. you helped me so so much. im definitely subscribing and binge watching.
great timing for Scarf & I!

excellent Dr. She explains this perfectly.
Thank you!!
I really am glad I found you here on Utube! I prefer natural. Unfortunately most of vets I called do not administer the nasal bordetella. 😣 Thanks for the info in case I would ever need it.
You are THE best, most informative, cutting-edge Vet on UA-cam! BEAUTIFUL new presentation. Love your new background set-up here! And HD video. (Pardon me for commenting on YOUR looks but you look rock star gorgeous as a brunette. Stunning transformation.)
Thank you
Thank you Dr. you were very informative and helpful. I feel better about my dog after listening to you
A friend brought her dog to our house while they were on vacation. He had kennel cough. My dogs (4) were not vaccinated. When I heard him cough, I immediately started all 5 on silver solution called ASAP. I did not separate them. Not one of my 4 dogs got k. c. Not one. Donkey eye infection. Human uti. Skin infections. Prevented flu virus when 1 in the family was infected. The list goes on. We don't use colloidal silver. I believe the solution we use is nano. God bless you for all you do and the info you put out. I understand this stuff kills viruses, bacteria and fungus. It works.
marsack7 What dose did you use for your dogs? YES there are many kinds of silver solution. Nano particles are the only effective way to administer it. It is a miracle product if you buy the right brand.
@@Mary-Mercedes ASAP brand silver solution 10%. 2 teaspoonsful twice a day. Silver particles in the colloidal are too large to enter the cells and do any good. Also afraid colloidal will cause small ducts to be blocked in certain people. Certainly works for my family including dogs, donkeys, and horses. Could work for my chickens too if need be. No side effects with it. No need for probiotics after using it. Colloidal is good enough to use topically.
@@marsack7 THANKS!
And I'm doing chelation with lots of people now experiencing issues having used silvers previously. Sorry, but I'm Sceptical of long term health outcomes.
Great info thanks so much. Seems my new rescue beagle picked it up at the vets when I took him in for his first wellness exam for all needed vaccinations. Poor thing had ear mites, ear infection, tape worms…huge amount of problems due to lack of care. Anyways, got him his Bordatella nose vaccine and later that evening he started with the gagging, coughing…he also has major separation anxiety. I got my hands full and my wallet empty😢
So very useful, thank you. My dog is about to go into a kennel for 10 days and the owners of the kennel wouldn’t admit him without the vaccine. Their environment is not crowded, thankfully. But if he gets this, at least I know what to do, now. Many thanks.
Do you recommend getting Kennel Cough vaccine annually?
Can you walk the dog at all? My dog has it and is getting down as she is normally in doggy day care. She started coughing Friday night and Saturday we got the vet out and she is on antibiotics and anti-inflammatories which seem to be working. She has only coughed 3 times since Monday. She is 2 year old beagle that needs lots of exercise so this is really tough for her and us as she just keeps wanting to go on a walk
Thank goodness there is an oral Bordetella vaccine available.
How do I know when symtoms resolve? She is still sneezing but no longer has the green boogers. She's also not coughing anymore.
how come no one else mentions the remedies that you do? . I have been told honey with a little lemon. should I try esberitox I can't decide what to use my dog doesn't like honey
My dog has been coughing very similarly to what you see in kennel cough for about 5 days. I've taken him to the vet twice in the last week. He was lethargic, shivering at times and had no appetite until recently but he's having trouble swallowing it looks like. He also had conjunctivitis in his eyes which have cleared up. The bloodwork looked normal except for a slightly elevated liver count. He hasn't been pooping either but i suppose that's because he hasn't been eating much. Not really sure what's going on.
what happen to your dog?
@@sailingyachtlifevsyeanonot7621 he had an inflamed gall bladder but they said it didn't need to come out. We put him on antibiotics for about a month and he's doing great today! 13 and full of piss and vinegar still!
Thank you for such an informative video. It's really appreciated. My dog just got kennel cough and I feel that my vet went crazy overboard: metacam, 2 injections including antibiotics + antibiotics tablets to give at home. I'm so frustrated, all of this is poison in my opinion. My dog coughs mainly at night but otherwise happy and playful. It sound more like he tries to throw up, but nothing ever comes out. Gets a bit worse when he is laying on his back. It's weekend and I want to stop antibiotics. I have only given 1 tablet in the morning so far (+ that antibiotic injection that vet gave yesterday). But now I read online that stopping antibiotics is even more dangerous. What would be your advice? I don't want to continue with them, only metacam (but again don't know if even that is needed). Can only call my vet on Monday now. Thank you very much in advance for your reply.
Can kennel cough continue for more than 4 months
What were the natural remedies that she used for the kennel cough
switching to a harness. humidifiers with a couple drops of pure lavender essential oil.
esperatox, honey, raw garlic, herb called olive leaf, a human tea, vitamin c, tea tree and lavender oils!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Karen, my dog has a really snotty nose along with the cough. We are making it better but it will not go away. Any tips?
What did you do mate? My little Puggle has had a horrible wheezy cough and sometimes wretching but is otherwise his normal self. I took him to the vets and as it was suspected kennel cough would only see him in the car park! He prescribed antibiotics and doggy Tramadol (tralieve) however my boy will not take these tablets no matter what I hide them in. Tonight I’ve given him an anti histamine and it seems to have stopped his cough. Could this cough be down to allergies?
@@Ivar-the_Boneless, your pug is wise to avoid those pharmaceutical poisons. They would have caused more harm than good. My girl still has the issue, but we are able to control it to a level where she is happy. I have noticed that she now has gut issues too as she farts if she wretches. The whole thing points to pseudonoma infection, I believe, from drinking from infected waters, or from her habit of picking up things in the wild. I suspected lung worm for a while, but all tests returned negative (thank God). Items you will need to buy: French thieves essential oil mix, plus a diffuser. If you have a crate then place him in there, use a cover, and humidify his air with this. Add 10 drops of the Thieves oil (go less to begin with to see how he likes it). You should see that as time elapses, he will settle into a normal relaxed breathing pattern.
Secondly, you need a quality colloidal silver/hydrosol. Get him drinking this, and nebulise as often as possible (if you have a nebuliser). This should wipe out any infection. My girl is the world’s worst patient though, hence the continuation and lack of full remission.
Ps…I have tried everything and done so in a highly scientific way. Cures I use for humans will not often be accepted by animals as they lack the ability to simply ‘take their medicine’ as you have seen.
Good luck with it all, and let me know how you get on, and if you would like further advice.
@@PureTruth drinking infected water is probably the thing! I used to let him jump in a small stream near us and then reports of raw sewage being pumped upstream came out. He was in there about a month ago just before I found out 🤬
All of a sudden my dog is coughing. He sounds like he has a chest cold. This just started yesterday. He is fully vaccinated. I just noticed he hacked up white foamy stuff. I really don't want to go to the vet. However, my vet is opened tomorrow.
Friends pls tell what's the medicine for this kennel cough
Can I give my dog chicken noodle soup for cough or raw honey because I don't have any money for the vet right now.
Yes
My vet wants to prescribe hycodan, a narcotic! Scared my 4 lb toy poodle didn't get better, after 10 wks,or so! I've given antibiotics and throat gold natural herbal drops.i need a holistic vet here in bklyn! I've read there's no cure!
Wait I thought dogs were allergic to garlic... is this incorrect?
I was really concerned by this part of the video as well, from what I’ve learned through my veterinary technician program, my veterinarians, the veterinarians I work for, and the American kennel club all say the garlic is toxic!
So you’ll harness a dog who has kennel cough...
why is this almost exactly the same as the video i just watched from 8 years ago
i was hoping for some new information or remedies
I just watched the same video before coming here. I thought they were two different vids but it doesn’t bother me that she just made a new one. It’s probably easier for others to see in their searches if it newer.
Doc, please don't use allergy meds. Eat less mucus forming foods. Cut out starchy carbs.
Your nasal congestion may be relieved with a netty pot w salted water.
U help us, we help u. 😘
We need antibiotics info
You were no help
Y’all listening to somebody who has a bad mic
Thank you
