Douglas Murray has been blessed with a super brain & is spreading honesty, practical commonsense. He has an essential voice that has to be heard by all of society, as soon as possible.
Brilliant..Love the pin pointing of issues of the madness. Douglas is so good at seeing the bigger picture. And love Julia for saying the common obvious things which seems to offend people..madness..hope that makes sense..
Ms. Hartley-Brewer needs to shut up long enough for Mr. Murray to set up his perspective and deliver his point.... He is getting no traction. She yaps too much.. Douglas is a deep thinker.
Wonderful points raised, and sadly in 2023, they're still at the forefront. I could say a lot, but instead, I'll simply say THANK YOU to the host and guest.
I was on the edge of despair - but now, having listened to this discussion, I stand strong in my conviction that sanity will prevail. I'll sleep tonight.

Julia is great to listen to aswell. How rare it is now to listen to a good well rounded sensible thoughtful conversation. Even if you don’t agree with everything everyone ever says 😂😂 it’s ok honest 😂

Thank you, Julia. An excellent discussion. Douglas Murray is one of the few sane, articulate public figures with the moral courage to confront our societal issues honestly. You never know, with some of your guests, you could do a Joe Rogan and go on for several hours! I could've listened to a much longer conversation. Great stuff. More please.
This is the most refreshing discussion I have heard since our dear Roger Scruton passed away who always spoke bravely on so many important issues and gave his thoughts to be heard. Thank you Douglas Murray for your input to such dire circumstances that we are all facing.
It is now against the law to tell the TRUTH ... We are not allowed to say" that guy dressed as woman is a pervert" .... He cannot be a woman ... He has a totally different bone structure and biological make up ... A woman's body is designed to produce babies ... and there is no way that any man knows what it's like when a young girl hits puberty, and has her first period, or what a woman goes through on the change of life ... Because both those things affect different women different ways....

There's nothing better than listening to the intelligent conversation from one of the greatest intellects we have in Douglas Murry. and then she says she plays the woman card, and you can just imagine someone turning and saying she's not a woman because something she has said in past doesn't fit what they think the woman's narrative should be.
Spot on!!
Brilliant discussion. I hope that most of us agree with all these issues and that there are more of us than we know.
Douglas Murray has been blessed with a super brain & is spreading honesty, practical commonsense. He has an essential voice that has to be heard by all of society, as soon as possible.
So, Julia - call him back in for another interview. I'll watch
Thank God there are still people left in this world who are capable of rational thinking and able engage in constructive dialogue!
What a terrific discussion! I would happily have listened to them for another hour.
"We've pretended that being a woman is a software issue." Absolutely amazing insight!
Love his books - should be on the educational curriculum for secondary students!
Refreshing enlightening and straight forward talking. Soooo enjoyed this interview. Why dont the world listen and take note?
Love listening to Douglas, always level headed, and honest and talks a lot of sense.
Brilliant..Love the pin pointing of issues of the madness.
Douglas is so good at seeing the bigger picture.
And love Julia for saying the common obvious things which seems to offend people..madness..hope that makes sense..
I cannot remember when I last heard such clarity of reason in an open discussion. These two deserve much more attention and respect.
Lex Fridman has some awesome guests on his channel and is a wonderfully thoughtful, balanced, inquisitive gentle guy.
This much sanity in under 1 hour will lead to quite a few heads exploding.
If lammy, owen jones, o brian and foggy watch this they will all explode
LOOLL
@@daveerwin6981 there not taking over shit being less than 1% of the population. Not everybody watches bbc you know
dave erwin I hope this post is satire 😂
Ms. Hartley-Brewer needs to shut up long enough for Mr. Murray to set up his perspective and deliver his point.... He is getting no traction.
She yaps too much.. Douglas is a deep thinker.
Loved this ..Douglas Murray should be our pm ..
Could listen to both of them for hours
Wonderful points raised, and sadly in 2023, they're still at the forefront. I could say a lot, but instead, I'll simply say THANK YOU to the host and guest.
I was on the edge of despair - but now, having listened to this discussion, I stand strong in my conviction that sanity will prevail. I'll sleep tonight.
It is good to see good brains at work, discussing in an intelligent an constructive way! Refreshing!!!
This is an interesting conversation. You never see open debates like this on TV anymore.
Not allowed to have debate now. Attempting to debate a logical or sensible view is going to be treated as hate crimes.
@@stewartanderson6560 Yes, these are the most important issues of our time... 😂
There should be more of them on all media outlets .😊
TV/newspapers etc is MSM. There will be no sane debate.
This is not a debate, it's just two people agreeing with each other.
A very good listen here. I wish it would go on for more hours! Thank you Julia and Douglas ❤
Two legends.
I really like to listen to Julia and Douglas. Two great people. I listen to them whenever I can.
What an extraordinary conversation, I too feel and wish that this conversation lasted at least 3 more hours. Thank you so very much for reminding us of the foolishness of this society. God speed
This is the most sane conversation I've heard for the longest while. Thank you Julia and Douglas. I could have listened to the two of you for hours.
I love these two people so dam much it literally hurts..they are like medicine to my ears and heart.
WALOFS. DM is excellent but the ghastly JH-B is. well, ghastly and grossly overrated.
Is there anyone out there who doubts this guy is a genius. Douglas Murray is so clearly the voice of reason, yet people still try to cancel and silence him.
But he has the guts not to be silenced! I so appreciate his intelligence, how articulate he is and how brave he is in the face of this endless craziness..
@@paulinegauthier1867There's a interview he just did with Lex Fridman..I only watched some of it, but def worth viewing!
Julia is great to listen to aswell. How rare it is now to listen to a good well rounded sensible thoughtful conversation.
Even if you don’t agree with everything everyone ever says 😂😂 it’s ok honest 😂
THATS WHY.
To me, Julia Hartley Interrupts and runs with what Douglas is already saying. I think that she is a most IRRITATING Interviewer... Apart from the very fast-talking, tall, NARCISSISTIC, Iranian, I believe woman. She Went for Douglas on a Q&A panel of 4-5.
She is the Most IRRITATING PITBULL by far.
Loved the interview. We all need more Douglas in our lives.
I very much appreciate that ;)
@@newhorizons4565 More Douglas? I'm spoiled like a fat baby.
Wow, loved every second of that conversation, every topic is the same 'private' conversation I have with family and friends!
I’m thankful that these sensible adults are having these conversations and reassuring us “majority” that the world has not gone completely mad.
White privilege! Let's talk about left wing privilege.
Absolutely!
Very good point!
How about minority privilege
Wtf are you going on about...??? Jesus Christ. This "right wing" internet circle jerk is becoming self satirical.
WHAT ABOUT SLAVE PRIVILEGE? ooh I know... homeless privilege...
*Facepalm*
This is the most refreshing discussion I have heard since our dear Roger Scruton passed away who always spoke bravely on so many important issues and gave his thoughts to be heard. Thank you Douglas Murray for your input to such dire circumstances that we are all facing.
And today we are seeing it is getting worse
It is now against the law to tell the TRUTH ... We are not allowed to say" that guy dressed as woman is a pervert" .... He cannot be a woman ... He has a totally different bone structure and biological make up ... A woman's body is designed to produce babies ... and there is no way that any man knows what it's like when a young girl hits puberty, and has her first period, or what a woman goes through on the change of life ... Because both those things affect different women different ways....
Thank you Julia and Douglas for such a sane, calm, wonderful discussion. It gives me so much hope to know that there are such people as you out there.
Probably the first time I have seen Julia both sane and calm .Someone must have slipped something to calm her down .
@@williamwilson8582 On one to one interviews she slows right down, listens and doesn't interrupt. The opposite of what she does on air which is interminably annoying. This format makes her much more relatable.
@@BridgeToGantry Fair comment . It goes to show that if she were more rational in all interviews she could achieve better results and a bigger audience .
Absolutely brilliant, insightful and clear thinking here about the current madness around us. If only our politicians would listen and take note, ideally the lawyers too! Such wisdom from Douglas, especially around some of his conclusions about meaning in peoples’ lives and the need for forgiveness and understanding of others - there but for the grace of God and of history - most of which was so much worse than today, if not hellish (nasty brutish and short?!) Thank you so much.
Great podcast! Always amazing to listen the brilliant Douglas Murray ❤ the Christopher Hitchens of our time
I could listen to Douglas Murray all day. He's so intelligent and engaging.
I have heard much about how I should listen to Julia and haven't. I came here to hear from Douglas Murray and am incredibly impressed by both of them. Bravo! The BBC is long gone for me; I no longer have a licence. They changed, I didn't. This channel looks to be an excellent alternative. Thank you!
What a thoughtful and entertaining conversation
Never heard any interviews with Douglas Murray before but I’m impressed he speaks a lot of sense
You should check him out . He's a very bright spark.
He’s occasionally allowed on BBC but only if he’s vastly outnumbered and attacked by a lefty interviewer. This is so refreshing where he’s allowed to speak and not shouted down by a lefty interviewer.
"Is being black simply the first step to some massive political movement?" Bloody hell he must have been sitting on a crystal ball when he wrote this book. Great interview.
@bartley butsford weren't familiar with this . Have you a link
Thankyou for this discussion. So refreshing to hear stable open discussion of our wonderful world. Keep these discussion going our world needs more of this.
Two of my favourite people! They say it how it is, and they don’t pander to the weirdos and extremists! 💪🏻🇬🇧✊🏻
The bit at the end around 52 minutes when he says why aren't students at university studying how we can live in underwater cities is legendary. We need young people thinking about more important subjects that will help continue the human race not destroy it.
Douglas Murray is the reason I subscribe to the Spectator, he writes a weekly column that never fails to amaze me with its clarity. He writes with an innate sense of what is right and what is really happening.
Thanks Julia and Douglas for a most interesting discussion.
So, so refreshing and rare to listen to pure common sense! Loved it! Two of my favourite people.💕

Fantastic chemistry and interview. This is how it should be done as a respectful conversation. Thank you. A pleasure to watch.
There's nothing better than listening to the intelligent conversation from one of the greatest intellects we have in Douglas Murry.
We now live in a world where most of us have a device in our pockets that gives us access to every conceivable item of knowledge, music, culture and truth, the downside is that it gives everything access to us.
What a refreshing conversation, some common sense at last, definitely buying both of his books.
I have never heard so much common sense spoken in such a short space of time. It comforts me greatly.....ordering Douglas's book straight away. Thank you.
Absolutely correct, so refreshing to hear a crystal view of the madness that is going on today
Wonderful discussion. Everywhere there is Orwell, boredom and narcissism.
you are so right
"We can play the game endlessly, because it's unresolvable."
Brilliant
What a great conversation. Also really love Julia: such a refreshingly sane and sensible lady.
Professor Jordan Peterson warned us about this years ago. Great conversation and will definitely buy Douglas Murrays new book. Thanks for the upload.
Fuck Jordan Peterson. If you look a little deeper, peterson IS THE PROBLEM.
keep the podcasts coming. We all need to think about things more and exercise our natural instincts which works out to be common sense! We need more of it.
The antidote to owen jones
the gulf between the two is so massive it cannot be measured, wether by intellect or any other characteristic,
Douglas stands out, we need more like him
Simon Clare Douglas Murray once said that Owen Jones won’t appear on sky News he’s on.
@@sarahhardcastle2433 it's TRUE he cant handle his sensible rhetoric especially on gay opinion
Douglas is an intellectual hydrogen bomb Vs Owen the spud gun
Inasmuch as Jones is a disease agreed.
One cannot feel anything but admiration for this likeable, charismatic and sharp person.
*A beautiful mind!*
Which one, or both?
@@danpearce4547 Someone's getting the knack of inclusive, gender-neutral writing! Well done. Down side is it sometimes leads to a lack of clarity like this when no one's identified by name. Good on Mako, though, for also incorporating the "royal we." Kudos! Extra points!
@@dontpanic1812 - Royal We? No he doesn't. That's your imagination.
@@ebberman7672 My bad. I thought the use of "one" was similar to the royal "we," but it's not. I gather it's part of a third person perspective. Sounds so alike sometimes, though.
@@dontpanic1812 'one' means 'a person'.
Fascinating listening to both of you covering so eloquently such complex and timely matters that involve our western democratic society values! I’ve learned a lot!! Congratulations!!
Can't beat Douglas Murray, much as I'd like to see him do hour-long interviews like this every week. part of the reason he's so good, is that he disappears for months at a time carefully diligently researching his books and Spectator columns. His insights are better for it, and his arguments are rock solid. If only more journalists worked like him, rather than grasping for the first half baked thoughts to fill the 24hr rolling news and so-called opinion pieces
