  • Julia Hartley-Brewer meets author, Douglas Murray in the second episode of her new series, Inside the News. The two discuss his new book, The Madness Of Crowds: Gender, Race and Identity.
Douglas Murray examines the twenty-first century's most divisive issues: sexuality, gender, technology and race. He reveals the astonishing new culture wars playing out in our workplaces, universities, schools and homes in the names of social justice, identity politics and 'intersectionality'.

What I am most grateful for is that he is in our lifetime. Amongst all the total trash and utterly ridiculous minds living in the same world as ours it's wonderful we can help ourselves to exist by reading his books and listening to wise people like him. My son was in his teen yrs when he started reading his books and it set him on a path of reading, teaching himself about the world by listening to Douglad Murray and thinking sense abilities that will last a lifetime..

Agreed. The problem with judging people by "the content of their character" is that unlike in the 70s and 80s, it's now a settled debate. Some groups and communities have been proven to be totally lacking in character or any redeeming quality. One community in my opinion is a monolith of bad actors and poor characters. They can no longer wished to be judged by their character because they have none. I imagine MLK knew this at the time but hoped with time they'd overcome. It's utterly depressing and wholly hilarious to see them try to pretend.

As a woman, I am equally horrified by the neo-feminist movement which dictates that women are better than men and I am astonished to find that even some men seem to have fallen into submission and have accepted that it is socially acceptable for women to ridicule, belittle and put men (as a group entity) down and yet it is unacceptable for women to be criticised for this (unacceptable apparently because they tells us that we women are a suppressed group!). Regardless of our gender, sexuality, race, or religious identities, we are INDIVIDUALS first and foremost and should be judged as an individual.

It is now against the law to tell the TRUTH ... We are not allowed to say" that guy dressed as woman is a pervert" .... He cannot be a woman ... He has a totally different bone structure and biological make up ... A woman's body is designed to produce babies ... and there is no way that any man knows what it's like when a young girl hits puberty, and has her first period, or what a woman goes through on the change of life ... Because both those things affect different women different ways....

There's nothing better than listening to the intelligent conversation from one of the greatest intellects we have in Douglas Murry.
We now live in a world where most of us have a device in our pockets that gives us access to every conceivable item of knowledge, music, culture and truth, the downside is that it gives everything access to us.

Never heard any interviews with Douglas Murray before but I’m impressed he speaks a lot of sense

He’s occasionally allowed on BBC but only if he’s vastly outnumbered and attacked by a lefty interviewer. This is so refreshing where he’s allowed to speak and not shouted down by a lefty interviewer.

keep the podcasts coming. We all need to think about things more and exercise our natural instincts which works out to be common sense! We need more of it.

Wow, loved every second of that conversation, every topic is the same 'private' conversation I have with family and friends!

Absolutely correct, so refreshing to hear a crystal view of the madness that is going on today

Refreshing indeed to listen to two very sane people. I recently got corrected for calling a woman "she" .... She has just changed her pronoun, now "they" -- but the person didn't hold it against me since the "she" just became a "they" .... Madness!
