Started the video feeling so envious of the PNW and how big and gorgeous nasturtiums get out there. Ended the video realizing that the ability to grow giant beds of tulsi is not to be taken for granted! I had a 12’x4’ tomato bed filled with tulsi last 2 years. Tomatoes and Tulsi are wonderful companions. Im also blessed to be able to hang dry in spite of the humidity here in the Kansas City area. Mostly used it for tea for stress and migraine or feeling like Im coming down with something but I didn’t know it’s good for asthma, arthritis, eye problems and so on! All of which I suffer from. But also didn’t know about the clotting issues. I need to look into that one because a platelet issue and lack of a specific IgA is what causes ALL my other problems. 🤔 Maybe that’s why I only desire it when I am stressed or having a migraine. If we listen to our bodies- they tell us!

I first heard about this plant from a co worker who’s married to a woman from Thailand who was kind enough to share some seeds, it grows so nicely here in Southern California, I love it for tea and the best way I like to have it is I mixed with my homemade kombucha for flavor, it’s one of my favorite way to consume it, the flavor is so unique, thanks

I’m in CT, and a lovely lady running an Indian store started some tulsi plants and brought them in to sell. She educated me on the benefits of tulsi. She says they eat several leaves in the morning right off the plant and make teas from the leaves. Also, if you have an Indian store in your area, I would recommend visiting it for their many herbs, oils, grains, and seeds, ghee, and all around healthy natural food offerings at good prices.

In our area we use it in soup. Especially in fish soup. It gives the soup so much more taste and in fish soup it tone down the fishy tast.
And use cold tea to gorgel the troath when having soar troath. It smooths your troath and cure it

Thank you for sharing that you grow in greenhouse. I follow you for two reasons. One you follow Jesus and 2 I live on the cool Oregon Coast. I don’t have a greenhouse but do use hoops and covers to grow and especially start plants in the garden. So it helps to know what will need a little help to get warm and cozy.

Adaptogen:- Adaptogens increase the state of non-specific resistance in stress and decrease sensitivity to stressors, which results in stress protection, and prolong the phase of resistance (stimulatory effect). Instead of exhaustion, a higher level of equilibrium (the homeostasis) is attained the heterostasis.

I started some from seed this year. It's still really tiny though. I almost didn't think I was going to be successful. This is the 2nd try this year. I seeded some inside about February ish. That didn't come up. Then after last frost. I just got some sprouts this past week. A few. So I'm hoping to be swimming in it soon.
It was difficult for me and also rosemary and lavender. I'm on the 3rd try with rosemary. About to try again with lavender. I've got a few sprouts of lavender but I wanted more. I didn't realize you had to cold stratify them.....not Tulsi. Lavender....I seeded in a solo cup then I seen somewhere it needed cold stratifying.... So I put plastic wrap around it right away and stuck it in the back of the fridge. I was afraid I had already screwed it up by putting it in dirt and watering 1st but then I thought....well.... It should be fine ... That's how it happens in nature anyways. 🤷‍♀️ Apparently it worked. Praying God bless my plant babies.

Thank you for this information. I need to find seeds for holy basil. I’m growing 2 basils, one is Genovese and I’m not sure what the other is, it came in a 6 pk without a label, so it may be the same, but it’s smaller leafed. Many Blessings!!

I get the Genovese and Emily mixed up often so now I am not really sure which one I am growing anymore but I know one has wider leaves than the other

Because they prefer more heat than we get here, especially lately with each spring and summer for the past few years getting colder for us
