I'm a medical fraud auditor and compliance officer and it is sickening how prevalent this is. Even with the anti-kickback laws and the false claims act, greed is the driving factor of medical practices in my experience. The United States has been attempting to move towards a patient-driven payment model and it is currently in effect with nursing homes but it really does need to go further and protect our most vulnerable populations from greedy people. Unfortunately there are lobbyists in our government preventing patient-driven payment model structures. Also a big shout out to all of the receptionist s and nursing aide that answer the phone and know right away they are talking to a fraudulent company attempting to force medical equipment on patients that don't need it. it is an everyday affair

I think the reason for the lawsuit might be for insurance claims. If the judge declares someone at fault and they have insurance covering what their cat does then there's a payout.

But the people who always use gentrification as a derogative seem to have an unqualified problem with the idea of coming into a place and building new buildings or renovating old ones, increasing the quality of the living and commercial spaces, with the inevitable result that rent and ownership costs are going to increase and people with more wealth are going to be spending more money there, obviously making it difficult for people who can't afford it.
The obvious implication there is that no one should ever think about doing something like that simply because it will be too expensive for some people who currently live there, and you should just let everything crumble. which is of course nonsensical.
