The whole trial was as if it were a child representing himself. This judge is a saint. Not only did she not lose her temper over his arguing and interrupting, she also did not laugh at some of the extremely strange things he did and said (such as the box fort incident, which had me in tears), and finally she did not let the erratic behavior distract her from the monstrous crime he committed. People were wondering why the judge was allowing him to misbehave. It was because she knew what he was trying to do, he wanted to get under her skin for her to react so there would be mistrial or at the very least he would delay the case, especially by getting contempt of court. Instead she was a rock and he grew increasingly frustrated when his life long tactics and immature attempts at intimidation and disrespect failed to delay matters as she only ever replied curtly with the minimal responses required under law. He instead only dug himself deeper and once he had done so sufficiently, she stuck him in a box with a mic and camera, muting him during rants. Now he's recieved multiple life sentences.

Nope! Judge Dorow allowed this criminal manipulator to control and debase her Courtroom and the rule of law. Countless times she demurred and cowered before Defendant Brooks. By participating with his unending circular arguments, she encouraged it. Judge Dorow should have stood up to Brooks Day one of the trial. Instead, she wrung her hands in fear of a mistrial and allowed the circus to continue.
A Male Judge would have put a stop to Brook's disrespect and antics Day one!
Folks who praise Dorow's patience and label her "A Saint" are as weak as her. It's the same permissive mentality that allowed Wisconsin to burn in the Summer of 2020.
EPITAPH: If there is a mistrial and if the verdict is reversed, it's because Judge Dorow gave Brooks a legal back door to escape; she permitted a man with severe mental disease (aka Acute Personality Disorders) to represent himself.

The judge didn't want a mistrial. She had patience for all victims. The judge is a HERO

My personal (and probably wrong) theory for why Darrell represented himself is because he knew that, given all the evidence against him, there was no way he could have a successful defense, even with a professional legal team, so he just wanted to get some bitter satisfaction out of being as annoying as possible to get a reaction out of people. In other words, he wanted to troll the court

I beleive you're right but also he truly believed the sovereign citizen BS. He legit thought subject matter jurisdiction and jury nullification was going to get him off. So glad Darrow shut him down everytime he brought it up

I think he's narcissistic and thinks he knows more than anyone else. His jailhouse law book self study makes him smarter than a well-educated, experienced, licensed attorney. Of course it does!🙄 What a jerk.

That guy does not possess a single iota of self-awareness for that. Most likely he didn’t like what his attorneys recommended and opted to do the job himself under the delusional belief that he can do better.

@Pisces that's definitely what happened. You could tell his original attorneys were happy AF at the hearing where DB said he wanted to represent himself

Supposedly he was trying to get a mistrial, I guess to put off the inevitable? That's also why he kept badgering the judge, he was hoping she would snap and yell at him, which could be grounds for a mistrial
