Everyone is gangster until they get a dual FCU fault. :p Will pickup this when its avaliable in the UK, the winwing mcdu looks the buisness too for the price.
I would love to but I’ve packed all my gear up as I’m moving house and the equipment is going into storage until October 😩 It’s really simple though. Install sim app and plug in the FCU. Will have to update both the app and the firmware but even a toddler could do it. When launching xplane it’s a good idea to have sim app running first but I don’t think it’s actually required. No buttons to bind as it just works in xplane. The only thing that you will have to do is adjust the lighting in the sim as it doesn’t always sync on launch. Hope this helps.
Great vid, thanks! Does the real FCU also have non-tactile push/pull on the knobs, or is that just a winwing cost-cutting measure? The only other thing I don't like about this unit is how bright the backlight is compared to the LCD. Even the lowest setting is almost too bright for a pitch dark room, and the LCD is almost too dim at max brightness in a well-lit room during the day.
The real FCU is a little more tactile with regards to push pull. Hard to describe but it's as though there is a tad more dampening. Very minor gripe. As for your brightness issues, I'd suggest contacting Winwing as I don't seem to have those issues. What sim are you using it with? Maybe there's a double input going on???
@@_MarkV_ I don't think its a bug or defect, I think it's just made that way. It's not a huge deal, just a little thing that bothers me. It just feels like the LCD has a brightness scale that goes from like 0-60%, whereas the backlight goes from like 20-100%. I can live with it for the cost!
Absolutely an amazing review!
Thank you.
Cheers mate 👍

@@cesco1997 Interesting. I’ll have to check what the lighting difference is when I next fly and I’ll report back.
