Good idea and thinking of doing something like this. I recommend using a lifesaving knot like a barrel knot or bowline. An overhand knot is not reliable, and if you are going to use it, you need to tie securing knots with your excess. Just my 2 cents.
@@johnferrante4524 I’ll definitely look into those knots. I’m still running these aiders on my sticks, have been ever since I made the video, thankfully they are holding up just fine and I’m no little guy.. But like I mentioned, I’m definitely gonna look up those knots and possible change to those.. have a great day and best of luck this season.
Great idea, I already had a very similar set up with regular rope like yours. I’ve got all the materials to make this mod change. I going to work on this this evening.
Thanks for the idea, im doing this as i type! Btw, what country are you from? Ive watched alot of your videos, and i swear i can hear a slight dialect from maybe russia?
I’m glad you like it. Born and raised in Denmark for the first 20 years of my life, so that’s the accent you hear 😁🇩🇰 Been in the US for the last 16-17 years now.
You can, no problem at all. Pull the knots back about an inch and fold the steps up. But I can see why you might think that. I used this setup for a cpl years and last season changed over to an Amsteel aider instead, made a video on that too. Less bulky but a little more expensive, but really not much.

Hope they turned out great and that you like them 💪🏻
Heck yeah! Thanks man. I haven't begun saddle hunting yet, but this is one diy that I will most likely use. Simple and effective!
For sure worth it. Super light and like you said, so simple. Let me know if you have any questions on saddle hunting, it’s awesome for sure.
@@hufius I've seen other guys mention that the amsteel frays fairly easy. Have you used this aider set up much? Have you experienced fraying?
@@ScottWConvid19 probably did 25 sits or so with these aiders, they looks like I never used them… apart from a little muddy!!!
thanks, great video, I wish you had put the list of supplies in the notes.
Makes perfect sense, I’ll get that done over the weekend. 🤙
Great job! Do you have a link to the amsteel you used?
Let me try and find it - I’ll get back to you with another comment asap

I like it but looks like you can no longer fold up the lower steps?
