Could mix it into Bam Bam - Where’s Your Child to really send the message 😂
STILL blasting this in 2023! I started listening to Prodigy during the Bosnian war in 1992 as a teenager, and here is a little Prodigy related anecdote from the war later on, in 1993... During the siege of Sarajevo I lived right at the front lines, and late at night, Serbian soldiers would sing their old folk and "Chetnik" songs driving us nuts, so we went around for days collecting car batteries from damaged cars, speakers and sound systems from destroyed cars and apartments, and we put together a loud system with multiple speakers in 4 different apartments in a destroyed building (in the part of Sarajevo we called "Little Hiroshima" due to the scale of destruction). The only albums we had were Prodigy's Experience, Metallica by Metallica, Guns N Roses' Use Your Illusion, and a couple of Yugo rock albums. So when they start singing that caveman stuff, we would blast Prodigy's Experience as loud as possible, shutting them up. 😊 Unfortunately, car batteries get drained quickly, so we had a badly damaged Opel hatchback with a solid little engine that we started whenever we had some fuel to burn (we used oil from old machines too) just to charge the batteries.
Been blasting it ever since! 💪
RIP Keith
Братан а теперь у нас в Украине война. Для чего всё это нужно никого не трогали и тут такая жестокая ситуация😢
@user-px1jz6ku3x , the Russians helped the Serb aggressors attack Bosnia, now the Serbs are helping Russians attack Ukraine. Brothers in crime.

RIP Keith Flint.
The Prodigy influenced and shaped electronic & dance music around the world, especially in the 90s. There was no one hotter. Ugly yet beautiful, raw, aggressive, just freaking great music.
Their music brings so many awesome memories from my crazy teen age. My heart is broken.

Rest in Peace Keith Flint. This song will always remind me of the great years of rave. Thank you.
Love this song one song too rave tooxxxx
You mean back when they were squatting in a warehouse and you had to have the right info to find out where it was? When the party could end any second because it was found out and shut down? When the musicians did it, risking all their gear just to share their talent?
That was fun.
Fock yeah man
Rest in peace Keith you are in a better place we will all be raveing with u soon love you
I’m 15 and got to see them 3 years ago it was the best time of my life
I'm so old I remember the 1970's public information service ad the charly sample comes from, I was one of the kids in Britain it was aimed at. I also seen the band play at T in the Park in 1995. Amazing live. R.I.P Keith, you are missed.
The cat was voiced by Kenny Everett!
Think they had it through the eighties too as I remember it well from my youth 1980 onwards 😂😊
The prodigy were a genre on their own.
RIP Keith, thanks for the memories.
Probably one of the most significant rave tunes ever made.
Embodied everything.
The quote "hardcore will never die" never sounded so true. Big up The Prodigy.
Form is temporary, class is permanent.
And a Public Information Safety message included. And Charley the Cat. Awesome.
No doubt!
I was 19 when I heard this song for the first time, now my daughter is 22, and she loves every Prodigy song

It is sad that he took his life.

Or hell had issues with their furnace and called upon the services of THE FIRESTARTER!

Yes Gary, terrible news. Such a shame.
@@chmartin444 Definitely.
Proud to say this was the first record I bought..
I was eight years old.. went on to be a full blown raver up until the age of 35
What a game changer prodigy was back then. Best live act ever with some of the most iconic rave tunes of 90s and early 2000s
Imo I think they were more than just rave music, the music of that era felt like an amalgamation of every genre and that's why they could play with bands at festivals.
I believe they made a revolution in music equal to that one Pistols made at their time with punk. One of the bands that no antology of popular music can omit.
@@vandalcreed The only electro/techno act where people make a mosh pit at their gigs where techno fans, punks and metelheads could be seen together.
RIP Keith Flint 😢 This was The Prodigy's breakthrough debut hit reaching #3 in UK in 1991, a legacy was quickly born and The Prodigy experimented and changed their styles so well throughout the years!
With the sad news of Keith passing I've only just realised it was this tune alone that got me into the rave scene at the age of 15, and I never really looked back after that. Massive big-ups to the Prodigy & RIP Keith, I owe you a debt I'll never be able to repay.

Rest in peace Keith, thanks for the memories.
It's scary just how far ahead of their time The Prodigy actually were
***** The Prodigy was making music long before Fatboy Slim, Chemical Bros., and Crystal Method.
rareblues78daddy Actually, thats incorrect. Fatboyslim aka Norman Cooke ,created, Beats international and before that was part of the pop group, The Beautiful Southd. He was before the Prodigy in a more band style dance,, with, Dub Be Good to Me, which, i believe, was release before Charly. The main bulk of BI was electronic
Radiovarietyshow he mean't in the vaguely comparable style, which somebody brought up, only to then distance the Prodigy from.

Big respect to the Liams work!

Welcome to the world, Charlie May Clark!
OMG not Keith 😪 I used to dance to the Prodigy back in the 90s in London clubs/raves especially "Charly" and the whole room would have 100+ teens sweating with all the rave hand gestures. I don't know him personally but his music was certainly a huge part of my teens.I will now find a Prodigy playlist and dance in remembrance to Keith. This world has lost a special person in Keith RIP and if there is a heaven I do hope all will be entertained by him xxxxx
I turned 40 last week, so these guys were with me from school till now. Seen them 4 times over a 20 year period & absolutely gutted. Nothing will beat the Jilted Generation album, although Fat of Land comes close. Currently off work due to mental health issues (prob due to too many pills in the 90s) & Sat just gone was my worst night for months, I was at a tipping point & it blows my mind that Keith was in an even worse place & took the next step. Emily Eavis says they were booked to play Glasto this year. Gutted. RIP our little "firestarter".

The Prodigy did so many great tracks but this was always my favourite, such a great early 90's vibe. The "Charlie says..." sample and the cat's voice was pure genius. Went bonkers in the clubs when they dropped this back in the day
There will never be an era like this ever again... 😥
How do you know?
@@ruthycantfailhe way music changed from 1977 to 1991 hasn't been seen before or since. Technology leapt miles over that time. Music videos were invented. Some of the greatest rock and pop musicians of all time. Live Aid. 24 hour raves arrived 1988 onwards for the first time. Punk to Rave, so much expression. Since 2001 practically nothing has changed. Not easy to make the next music technology leap happen like this, so we don't see a repeat era like this.
@@timdyer5903 i agree that the last 50 years or so have produced some phenomenonal music, and a crazy mixture of genres, but I don't believe we will never see the likes again! We just don't know!
@@ruthycantfail sure. In a future decade. Let's see. The 60s to 90s had a massive pop music scene that caught the generations after World War 2. Flip this one over and listen to Your Love. Now THATS a tune...
Saw this on BBC 1 Top Of The Pops when aged 11 just before my 12th birthday, this lead me down the AMAZING path of hardcore music played all over the London FM dial - Pulse 90.6 / Rush 92.3 / Format 93.2 / Kool 94.5 just to name a few. Now my son is now aged 11 a few months before his 12th, very weird to think in this modern day n age how a child could be hooked to underground dance music using mum n dads rotary phone calling up pirate stations for the track title, to then buy the vinyls down the local shop (shout to Record Village and Cavern Records in Walthamstow East London) - to play on a singlur turntable. The start of an amazing journey with as much love now as it was back in the day.
