Just discovered him on a whim about 3 months ago. And ... yes! I can keep on going back to these albums daily and the tone smooth like butter. Gets me every damn time. Love this musician. One of my favourite musicians. The phrasing is so amazing in everything he touches. I need to learn and feel how he does it. There's no other artist I can think of who has phrasing like this. I grew up with a flatpicker/hybid picking father who loved Chet Atkins, Watson Brothers, and everything in between them and can say that he did a bit of phrasing similar to this, or rather he could. But not at all this level. It gives me the reminder of him each time I turn to listen to Timmons.
If I had an ideal tone I want to have this. Mesa Lonestar, BB Preamp or JHS Angry Charlie, Whatever reverb or delay he's using and Andy Timmons fingers! Who knew Ibanez could sound this good? Haha!
Probably the most underrated guitar god in America , only other wannabe guitarist knows him by name ! You can hear early Hendrix in his cords voicing but with his own modern personal unique take on them !
This is pure magic .......he is Fantastic.....and my Favorite of the melodic shredders if you will. Andy is so much more though.....but gems like Cliffs of Dover....Surfing with the Alien or For the Love of God .......this tune most certainly stands right with them and proud. Killer tune ....killer playing.🤘👏
Yeah, you can do it though....So, Yeah.....HBats Off, To Ya...Andy.....There Will Always be a Placve in My Heart for You Brother.......Keep on Rockin & Rollin!
I was watching a Chicago documentary and one of the guys said Terry Kath could play rhythm and lead at the same time. It sounds like this guy does it too. I had never heard of Andy Timmons until I started up a Joe Satriani station on Pandora recently. Now I`ve got another guitar hero.
It is not a stratocaster by fender but Andy gets his buzz. Anyway the Ibanez sounds more flat, lack of natural sound like an hibrid Steve Vai sound. Anyway this is a fantastic song.
@@alexandert696 sounds nothing like a single coil. Coz the pickups are not single coil. Strat players have trying to copy AT's sounds, I found no one has come closed to it.
@@indoshakermaker Andy timmons says it himself. He asked Ibanez to build him a guitar like Eric Johnson's strat -back in the day-. There you go. This is what it mean s to be a stubborn. Yes, his, are humbuckers, not single coils, yet, said by himself in multiple interviews, they are very straty humbuckers. This just to make you not to be stubborn mate. I also like this more than normal strat pickups. There is a subtle difference, but it was all based on a Fender Stratocaster. Nothing wrong with that
I never, never get tired of every version of this song...
All of these years.. Andy timmons...nothing's changed..One of my favorite guitarist of all time.

Indeed
Even in live performances his tone is immaculate

Go check out when Andy played in Danger Danger. He is a beast!
Ha, I think that would shock a few of the guy's who only just discovered him. (To be fair he still had taste even back then)

Highly recommend Andy's "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album. It'll make you even more of a fan of Andy.
Jimmi Hendrix also riffed on chords 👌👌Jimmi and Srv are some of Andy Timmons influences

A little bit of applause might have been appreciated...
listen carefully, the applause has been muted a little bit, but u still can hear it at last seconds
Or a " FUCK YEAH MURICA" every couple of seconds
On a side note. Asian Audience are different they will applause the artist at the end
The audio is recorded through PA, you can't hear the audicence
I think children in kindergarten in China can already play this solo :-p hence these Chinese people are hard to impress. Maygosh!!! :-D

When? was Andy Timmons in CHINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AND WHYYYYYYYYY I DIDN'T KNEW ABOUT THIS :''(
It was before they let loose a virus that killed millions and ruined the world.

Sry for those who don't know this one
Did someone say Master Class ?
Tone comparable to Eric Johnson!
Major bits left out of riff for simplicity and solo simplified.
Metronome leak?
on backing track yes..metronome is a must to start the play..unless he play with band
Я один слышу метроном?
Any one else get here because of Lisa X or am I the only one?
Me too
เล่นแบบไม่มองกีตาร์เลย
นี่แหละครับศาสตร์แห่งดนตรี ที่ใช้การสัมผัสแม้แต่คนตาบอดก็เล่นได้
Good Strat tone from an Ibanez Strat copy !!!
Sounds nothing like a strat
No a single coil sound

His neck pickup sound is much closer to a Strat tone than a humbucker neck tone.
왜이리 대충치냐...
김달균 ..?
연습 안하는 듯 아니면 나이들면서 스타일이 코드 플레이 위주로 바뀐 듯
Cliffs of Dover sucks! Go Andy Timmons.
He did work with eddy Coker!
I seen a bunch of kids play this better than the guy who actually wrote it 🤣
What the heck are you talking about?
