    My Ibanez starter guitar kit came with an instructional video in it. The teacher was Andy Timmons. I could not believe my ears being 15 years old I was blown away and I am still to this day. Still my favorite guitarist 22 years later!!

    He went to work on this one!
    It's hard to add to perfection, but he manages to pull it off in spades!
    When he is on his game, it gets even more emotional.
    Different phrasing, extended runs, one note pauses.
    This performance was second to none.
    Extremely gifted.

    Certainly one of the most beautiful and gripping pieces of instrumental guitar ever composed. Still grabs you after all these years. Beautiful and soulful impro of this piece that many of us know every single note of. One of Andy's best ever live versions of this song.

    I have a Telecaster with Andy Timmons signature on it.
    It remembers me to never put limits on my playing, because if you think that a guitarist like Andy exists, you know there is always a better way to play something. It's up to you to find it.
    But at the same time, you know deep inside you that you'll never be capable to play like Andy.
    Anyway, never, NEVER put limits on what you think are capable to do.

    We were lucky enough to see Andy in Ottawa this past August. A musician's musician, who plays from a well of emotion deep in his soul, and a helluva nice, humble guy. In my top 3 guitar players on the planet.

    I've listened this masterpiece for many times in 90-ties version. But now ... A.T. is not simply the best rock guitarist ever. In early times of Hendrix, Page and Clapton (and McLaughlin&Co) could someone imagine that rock music would ever have such musicality (even not speaking about playing technique so rich, developed and remaining characteristic for rock guitar)?

      That's one of the most important lessons to take from this piece. Speed is only impressive and cool if you use it rarely and with the right setup. If you just shred through the whole song, the listener gets used to it and it become less interesting or even boring.
