Andy Timmons has the perfect combination of tone, feel, and technical proficiency. And he's so fucking musical. He's not up there just doing speed excercises and scale patterns. Its really tasteful
He said it in one of his interviews; when Satriani released his first album I realised wow! there is no need to have singer in the band, we can play our guitars and still make it sound interesting to all ears. this is what Satriani did Stories and emotions in his music. and Andy is doing a great job and what he plays belongs to him, no one plays like him. Amazing Player.
There were a lot of players of other instruments who said things like "if you have a bass player and a good keyboard player, you don't need guitar". I like his feature work, but also like it when guys like him get into bands that have a great vocalist and the players/vocalist can work more melodically and pick spots to joust.
@@daw162 yeah I mean I like both styles, I like what joe B does, in terms of how much he sings verses play guitar. Andy does sing a few songs at most of his shows, he will do hendrix tunes and some other covers, Andy is solid at singing
That key change at 3:20. Could not have been compositionally more perfect! Andy has to be one of the most underated guitarists AND composers of all time. Simply amazing!
Andy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This man he doesn't have a soul, he is THE SOUL!!!!!!!!!! I admire Satch, love the Vai's style, but this guy is impossible just outstanding, not of this planet!!!!
Where have I been? This guy is absolutely amazing! His playing is full of passion, energy, precision picking and fretwork, tasty chops, and solid musicianship fueling it. Thank you much for posting this.
For those of you who don't know it. This video is a live DVD release. Andy actuality played his new album "Resolution" in its entirety from beginning to end. I have never seen anyone capture the exact same sound attack and passion in there playing as Andy does every single time he touches his Guitar. He is always great. always incredible no matter if he us shredding, playing blues, playing rock or Jazz. His Tone sound and Style is bulletproof. do yourselves a favor and check out all Andy Instrumental music albums, you will NOT be disappointed..He has great gear videos up also. Brand New with Mesa. He makes all of them sound incredible.
Shawn lane is by far the most terrifying guitar player to come out of 80s, but Andy has the right mix of melodic playing and jazz fusion. Fast lines and razor sharp picking. Killer themes. 🎉
okay, brand new Andy Timmons listener here - glad to be out from under my rock and into this amazing music! What a band! AT is amazing, obviously, but that rhythm section is KILLIN IT!!
Yeah, until fairly recently, I hadn`t` heard of him or this tune. Then I made a Joe Satriani channel on Pandora. Now I`ve got a lot more guitar heroes like this guy, John Petrucci, Buckethead, etc. etc.
...building unto what people might expect of the invitation from a warm, pleasant, and seductive introduction are the riffs laid upon the unexpected chorus that shocks you like a vision of something you didn't believe could be real!!! I love this song for understanding that I'm like Andy Timmons...the one who makes the choice of which part of the song is the real Ghost of you!
3:43 has to be one of the tastiest licks ever made in the history or music!!!! Amazing!! Phrasing lord! Greg Howe, Andy Timmons and Pat Metheny are my absolute heroes.
Andy Timmons has the perfect combination of tone, feel, and technical proficiency. And he's so fucking musical. He's not up there just doing speed excercises and scale patterns. Its really tasteful
That's all I was gonna say
He's doing speed!
he's by far the most underrated guitarist out there...
Without a doubt
3:52
stands true even today
2 thumbs down?????? did you even listen to this song or even better FEEL it??? this dude dominates! plain and simple!
The bass playing really accentuates the melody of this song.
The greatest guitarist of all time and it's not even close. He can do everything the others can but no one can do what he does.
Jeff Beck?

Genius guitarist, bass and drums. I love all Andy's rock!
Andy and Doug Aldrich are the most underrated guitar players, both are fabulous in each style, the deserve a lot more than they have.
One thing I adore on Andys sound is the clarity even when he plays at a high gain setting
There is more feel in his hammer ons and pull offs, then david gilmour has ever felt in his entire career. Andy timmons is legend beyond belief.
God must have been incredible to witness that live
One of my favorite song of all times!!!Unreal...Andy Timmons is the best!
In the history of Rock, the three man band has put some of the best music ever recorded.

Where have I been? This guy is absolutely amazing! His playing is full of passion, energy, precision picking and fretwork, tasty chops, and solid musicianship fueling it. Thank you much for posting this.
Andy combines all the ingredients that make it outstanding! He is not too far in the shred weeds like some that are and lose soul along the way.

Danger Danger WHO!!! Andy T is so much more after those years, very deep.
Didn't know he was the guitarist from Danger Danger. That begin solo to One Step From Paradise is super smooth.
Timmons for my is in my top 5 guitarist. I like the agresivity wich him playing and the art of bands wich he using. Is a killer of musicality speed.
The riff is so simple (1:07), but when combined with the effects= AWSOME!!! And gots to love the pick slide (2:21). What a smooth, rocking' sound.
what a guitar player!!! it's amazing how he can unify technique, speed, musicality together like no one else.
Best of all time till now ❤️

Favourite Timmon's album! The drummer is jizzing the whole time giving John Mayer's guitar face a competition :P
lol yeah ahahaha
do you know the drummer's name?
No clue, but dude's got groove.
It's Dan Wojciechowski. I like his groove!
Shawn lane is by far the most terrifying guitar player to come out of 80s, but Andy has the right mix of melodic playing and jazz fusion. Fast lines and razor sharp picking. Killer themes. 🎉
First time I heard this guy play, I knew he was something very special! No one else sounds like he does!
I love this solo work, it gives me gooseflesh EVERY time i listen to it. My favorite solo indeed.
Adam Waskiewicz it's just outstanding
what an intense groove! thank you Andy for such an amazing music.
Great memories listening to this tune...the rifts are incredible..simple, elegant, a lot of jazz components without being jazz.
Hika Shika Its like if the blues and jazz had a baby in outer space it would be this vibe. :)
dragon7590 Yes! lol Very well put :)
dreamy, ethereal
+Hika Shika I would call it fusion rock
Who would thumbs down this incredible piece? Outstanding.
23 sad/jealous people out there. This is so great, and not cliche'. I love this older style...

Best tone ever. Soooooo good.
The fact that he retuned his guitar at 4:31 is impressive!!
Andy is incredible and that bassist is going crazy!
has anyone noticed Andy corrects his tuning (i think it's the g string) at 4:29 whilst playing that riff? wtf, that gap is like less than a second :D
its like breathing for him
Well picked up, how fast was the adjustment and then straight back to perfect playing...How?

Also Steve Vai talks very respectfull of him.

He is the completest player that i knew!

Solista espetacular ! Muito top!
Thank u once again pandora for turning me on to this gem 👍🏻
Yeah, until fairly recently, I hadn`t` heard of him or this tune. Then I made a Joe Satriani channel on Pandora. Now I`ve got a lot more guitar heroes like this guy, John Petrucci, Buckethead, etc. etc.
