I would put a new bigger 22mm ptfe water main in. The pressure and flow would be so much better and you can do the donkey work by digging the trench outside. Also allows you to add an external meter and shut off valve
Great suggestion. In real time (2-3 weeks ahead of the videos) I'm in conversation with our water provider about this as we're digging up the front garden for the driveway, so we're hoping to do this at the same time!
Ohh gosh that box room brought back memories I had a box room as a teenager was not fun at all… just a suggestion but maybe have the door opening against the wall frees up space then 😊
Maybe re think the proposed layout of the living room, then you won’t have to move the door. I personally think the media wall would be great on the right hand side wall with the fireplace in the corner. Something to think about.😊
To anyone planning this work, particularly with 1900s houses, the first thing you should do is get an asbestos survey!! fireplaces and ceilings often have asbestos!
Don’t forget soffits and anything up near the gutters they have asbestos aswell alot of people think it’s just internal loft ceiling’s and floors walls etc but it’s external stuff aswell
They only test what they can see when you take a layer of plaster off or fireplace out thats when you find it. I've had loads of jobs tested and still found it anyway. Your better off doing an asbestos awareness course, so you know what it looks like.
It is controversial I know, however there was newspaper behind it from 1975, so I don't think it was original with the house, unless it was stuffed there afterwards. We will be taking them to the reclamation yard though so they won't be thrown away!
Love your attitude of “do it right the first time”

Thanks for the suggestion! We shall sketch some designs out and see how this looks. Good idea, neither of us thought about the TV on that wall!

@@charlieehstephenson4893 Correct, our downpipes and soil stack were the only items identified as asbestos, we haven't done anything with those yet.

I would never remove a original 30s fireplace
