- For this particular project I used regular PVC that can be found at any Home Depot or Ace Hardware store and some General Purpose PVC cement. Note that the Hobie rod holders are a weird size. I used 2 inch PVC for this project. I wanted to make sure I had room for a cooler in the back of my kayak without having to reach around the rods to get to it.

I'm making my own PVC pipe scupper mounted bracket for trolling 2 rods at once with maximum spread between rod tips, as well as an integrated rod holder that's on a hinge and snaps flat for beach launches and landings so the rods are horizontal (so if I roll, they don't break because they'll be packed flat). I won't be using any expensive parts, though. I'm going through UA-cam looking to learn from others' mistakes and also get ideas. Your video gave me some great ideas. Thank you very much. =)
Heck yeah! Thanks for watching man. UA-cam is a great place for inspiration!
Great video. The 1.25" PVC fits perfect in the Hobie deck holes with a few wraps of duct tape. Be well and fish on! Mark in Oregon
Hey thanks for watching!! I never thought of using duct tape! Good to know!
You guys across the pond have some amazing kayaks. Here in the UK we tend to fish more in the sea but we do have a huge freshwater kayaking fraternity too. Its the sea for me though. Great vid mate. 👍
We are blessed for sure!
Friggin awesome mod man, cheers, about to watch some more of your vids. 👍🤙
Thank you!!!
Nice build bro! I need to do something like this but you nailed it talking about those weird Hobie flush mounts.
Thank you man! I appreciate you watching! Yeah I got into the build and was like WHY WONT THIS FITTTT!!!!!!!
Chuck a few screws into the pvc joints that you didn’t glue it with hold it well and you can take them out if you need to.
Solid idea! I should have thought of that!
Heath Panganiban Carpentry trick I learnt from an old man.
i see you like them BG's 2500 model? been researching new reels and they look great for the price..... nice build
Thanks! And yes, I use 4 of them. Love them haha
Cool, thanks for the video!
You got it!
Instead of cutting the notches try using about a 3/4" drill bit and fine tune using the jig saw and/or dremel
Oh, smart! Thanks for the tip!
I need you to make me one of these
