I've actually on my third bottle of the Pixi spray and I've never noticed a strong scent. Also, it is the BEST makeup setting spray i've ever used, even better than Skindinevia :)
I have a lot of stress acne and started using it my skin is clearing up and looking the best it has in a long time. It’s not cruelty free so a lot of people refuse to talk about it. It is done that way because the products were started as a burn victims care so they had to make sure the products were as safe as possible
i was searching for reviews of the Vichy mineral 89 and when this video was on the list i was SO happy that Robert(who i absolutely adore) had done a video on it 🙄 i never realized you both had UA-cam channels but im glad i know now this was a super helpful video thank you
Yaaas! I've also been using the Biore sunscreen for quite awhile now and have never used any other sunscreens since. The texture itself does it for me. It doesn't feel sticky at all. Love it! 😊
I was going through one of the worst years of my life a couple years ago and actually started investing in skincare around the same time. I won't say that skincare saved me or anything. God and my family saved me. BUT taking time out of my day to watch skincare vlogs and pamper my skin with good products really was a form of self-love and I'm really glad I did it. My skin just looks better and better every year now :] I hope you get to feeling better
I am getting the Purito in the mail today! Excited that you reviewed it with basically a thumbs up!!! BTW, you describe Biore sunscreen exactly how I feel about the Missha Safe Block Essence 45 and their Aqua sun gel 50 (which I'll continue to rave about forever) that both have an amazing finish after they quickly get absorbed. Cheers!
I want your opinions on some products since you are the only guy I really trust on honest reviews. @@AA-cf4es Actually I did order it and tried it today, I finished my bottle of COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream and if I compare them then both are good for my skin which is dry/mixed. The missha one is much lighter and easier to spread, neither leave a white cast, the cosrx one is more moisturizing but as I said thicker, which is something I want to avoid when it's too hot and sweaty. I have only tried missha once (today) and it was hot and I sweated a lot and it did not feel sticky or left white marks after the sweat.
I've been using Bioré sunscreen since 2016 and I never change it. 😉 Cause it works, it didn't have white cast perfect for guys and heating sensation like other sunscreens.

James! First of all, you live in the UK so you have access to way better, less irritating, and highly photostable chemical UV filters. (I.e Mexoryl, Tinasorb, etc) BUT...i have to ask if you have tried the Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel UV??? It’s SPF 50 PA++++. It is AMAZING!!!
That sunscreen is AMAZING! In Australia we only sell thick, greasy, aweful smelling sunscreen that leaves a white cast all over you. When I went to Japan I was reccomended it and it changed my life.
you should definitely try Eucerin Oil Control Sun Gel-cream spf50. I HATE wearing sunscreen and it's the only one i actually enjoy putting on my face. it's so lightweight and controls my oils very well. Plus no wait-time needed.
I used vichy mineral 89, and I didn't feel any diference in my skin. It's a really hyped product here in Brazil and it's not cheap. Maybe my routine was not good at the time, but even than, shouldnt I feel some diference? I used the hole bottle. Biorė uv both the gel version and watery essence are the only sunscreens that I use and my skin don't break out. I love It.
I have bought like 3 products according to your recommendations. I really like 2 products from the 3. I have been wearing sunscreen religiously when I go out now because of your videos
You have to try liv + grace!!! My sister works for the founder of the new skincare brand. It's been out for around a year but is very much indie and still small. I recently started getting into skincare and bought up a lot of stuff you've recommended along with products other youtubers recommend. And when my sister started telling me about her bosses brand, it sounded way too good to be true. Her boss is an esthetician and was getting very annoyed by how irritating/how poorly formulated many of the products on the market are today. So she spent a few years creating her own formulas and selling to her clients as an esthetician. And I must say, this stuff is incredibly potent and effective. It's extremely clean with natural ingredients. My sister the most sensitive skin and none of her stuff irritates it. It's rather expensive too, but that's because the ingredients she puts in are really gonna transform your skin. She gets top notch quality ingredients. Everything I've used from the brand is a winner in it's prospective category: the moisturizer beats any I've used, the face washes are truly hydrating and gentle, her serums are very very potent, and to top it all off, all of her products last you a very long time. Her moisturizer is going to easily last me 6 months! I'm almost mad that her brand hasn't been discovered yet, it needs to blow up.
James, have you heard of the korean brand Village 11 Factory? I loooove how their sunscreen contains titanium dioxide, squalene, niacinamide, centella asiatica, chia seed extract. Plus it it doesn't leave any white cast. It is also a bonus that it is packed in a super adorable packaging!
Bought a few Huxley products back in April and really liked them. Stand out was the “fresh and more” cream. Light gel texture, but not so light that i felt like it evaporated after a couple of hours, and left my skin really plump but soft at the same time.
I might have to check out that sunscreen! I’ve been really into this Japanese brand tatcha especially their water cream moisturizer and vitamin c serum, my go to

A year later and I’m still obsessed with the biore sunscreen 😍 I’ve got back ups for my back ups!! SO greatful I found your recommendation!! Thank you ❤️
Aww man! I saw the biore sunscreen lastnight on yesstyle but didn’t know much about it so I got something else. Now you did a raving review and I’m just left sulky about my order. Oh well! Will try it another time, have a la roche posay one to try as well. I have a problem of my face looking extra greasy after sunscreens, not dewy just slick!
Mineral 89 by Vichy is definitely the best! I'm from Brazil and I have oily skin and the weather here is always so warm and it always makes me feel like I haven't applied anything on my face.. I've been using it for 1 year now and dont even think of using another.
Have you ever tried the caudalie vinosource line? I’m blown away by their products. The moisturizing sorbet is amazing on my oily skin. You should review their products. Their cleansing oil is also amazing at a very reasonable price for such a quality product.
Hey James, please post a wedding skincare video! I’m planning my wedding, it’s in 6-7 months. I’d love to have your suggestions on some products that could help me get glowing, beautiful clear skin!
Just bought that vichy hydrating serum after your recommendation and it’s amazing! Truly lived up to the expectations, it’s so light on the skin, a good purchase
I think your voice has grown on me , literally just as you begin your intro with that accent that’s now very familiar, i smile unintentionally 😅 and yes that sunscreen is amazing am so glad I got it 😍
You have to try the Matsuyama Skin Moisturizing Water!! It's a Japanese ceramide toner (with SIX ceramides) that is literally thin as water and it's been a game-changer on my oily, dehydration-prone skin. As much as you love hydrating products, I know you'll love this!
Hi this is an old question. But I have tried both of these and I gotta say Klairs is far better than the Biore one. The Biore one completely dries my skin out so unless you have oily skin I'd recommend the Klairs sunscreen 100%.
I just recieved the Biore Aqua rich watery essence spf50 ++++ today & I'm sooo excited first thing I did was smell it! Lol my nose must not be working because I didn't smell NO alcohol 🤔 wondering what everyone else is taking about in regards to the smell. It barely smells like anything👍 I recieved the 2019 version.
omgee james! your making me want to buy everything your mentioning sofar ahh! btw i had a facial and the aesthetician used that serum on my skin and I was so dewy and my skin was glowing!
Mad Hippie and Pacifica are two smaller, ‘indie’ brands that would be worth checking out! I have the Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum with ferulic acid and konjac root and it is absolutely incredible 👌
I just got the Biore sunscreen after watching your video. I made sure to choose the 2019 edition and I can’t help but notice the very strong alcohol scent. Have you had any issues with that ? Idk if maybe I got just a bad batch, but I’m a bit worried to use it
Same here! I just received mine and I could smell the alcohol straight away? I did some reading online and it's apparently on the 'safer' side for gals with oilier skin.. which Is a shame because I do have dry/dehydrated skin.. As I notice you commented 3 months ago, did you try it? What are your thoughts? And what skin type do you have?
I was thinking the same thing! I was scared to use it at first bcs of the strong scent but I have been using it for few weeks now, so far it's okay. But I'm still scared 😫
Galina Mishevska I’ve been using it for a week and it’s quite moisturizing once you get pass the smell. Also, I have very dry/ dehydrated skin especially with winter coming.
I bought it from the drugstore and yes, it does have a strong alcohol scent. It very hydrating and works fine but for my oily ass skin it looks a bit too oily for my face. I love the biore products they're really affordable and works well for its price.
Ugh, I hate the smell of rose, too, except for Herbivore’s Pink Cloud moisturizer, but I think that’s better for cold weather. For sunscreens, I started using Some By Mi’s Truecica Mineral 100 Calming Suncream, which I bought from YesStyle. It has tea tree leaf water and centella extract. Somehow it’s all-mineral, but so light, non-greasy, not very drying like many 100% mineral sunscreens, and no white cast (though I’m somewhat fair toned anyway, but still)! It’s also SPF50+ PA++++! Seems good for summer so far!
Biore is my sunscreen! I use the UV milk (sporty) version. PA is actually a sunscreen indicator for Japan and Korea instead of the uva/uvb in the western world. Also, it's really matte which is an ideal for my country. Oiliness is equivalent to poverty here. Hahahaha! Basically, it makes you look fresh instead of sweaty coz it's a hot country.
I’m not sure if you tried it yet but I have been using Kora Organics sensitive skin kit and their Noni face oil. Also, thank you so much for getting me hip to K beauty and I love the Cosrx brand so far.
I love the Vichy Mineral 89!! I actually like majority of their products. The one line i don’t like from them is the Normaderm. It made my skin great for like the first couple of week, but it’s like it started stripping my skin. My skin eventually started getting dry. Especially after I ran out of the mineral 89.
Thank you for your comments on chemical sunscreens and your eye. My skin hates the zinc in most physical sunscreens, but the chemical (which my skin loves) make my eyes water a bit and then eye shadow does weird things, it's not a good look. LOL I'm In love with the Pixi Milky Mist. One more, have you tried the TonyMoly Sunscreen Essence? I love it. It can make my eyes water a bit, but I just keep a fan nearby and fan my eyes for a couple of minutes.
I am currently loving the Anessa Perfect UV sunscreen skin care gel, it has SPF 50+ PA++++, you should give their range a try, they're from the Shiseido brand.
I don't know about the 2019 version of the Biore but the previous one had s strong alcoholy smell I really disliked. You should try the Canmake - Mermaid Skin Gel UV SPF 50+ PA++++. I'm sure you'll be amazed by its velvety finish!!!
Hey james u should try body shop drops of light sunscreen spf50 pa++++ suoer light and no matt it will be perfect for ur skin... Try it... U feel blessed
OMG! I wondered if I should try that Pixie Mist and now I will! Thank you! By the way, could you please please please give a review of some of the *ELF Cosmetics* skincare line? They have a TON and it’s super affordable so I own quite a number of them. The ingredients for most of them seem really good, but I’d love your opinion/review! 😘😆✨👍
If only Biore didn't contain bad alcohols :(. A good Japanese sunscreen I have heard of that does not contain alcohol is Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Milk SPF 50 PA++++ Just researched on the ingredients list of the Purito Sunscreen and it looks promising. Thank you for sharing!
Hey James you should check out the benton green tea line, they have new eye patches too which look so good! Also Jumiso (hello skin) they have amazing products for oily skin! The sheet masks are soo amazing 😍❤️❤️
In subtropical country with flaming sun where I live, the last sunscreen from Biore is notorious as "sun aid" lol. Most people that have more experience in skin care will never buy it anymore XDD But the low price and the comfortable texture help it alive in the drugstore.
I get really excited when I see products being reviewed and liked that I already have and use! I have been usuing that Vichy (yes you're pronouncing it right!) Serum for a few months and I also love it a lot. I like that you said you only need one pump! Because I too started using 3 pumps and now only use one. Lol and.... PIXI!!! I also have been usuing the milky mist for like 4 months now. I keep it in my fridge for a cooling spray throughout the day. It's amazing and unlike you... I freaking love the smell. Lol something about it... I wanna bathe in it. If you don't like rose you probably won't like their rose Ceramide cream. Now that smells like someone threw you into a trashcan full of roses and locked you in. I personally don't mind it.. but even for me it's over powering. I think the milky mist smells more refreshing. Anyway can you PLEASE review the brand ApothCARE Essentials. I have been usuing their phytoQUENCH boosted by roots line. So far I really like it but I don't see much about it online. :)
I love that biore sunscreen. I got one to try and then bought four more which arrived a couple of days ago 😄 I used that Vichy mineral 89 for a while, but I'm using a The Hero Project HA at the moment, plumps out my fine lines nicely
I am looking for something for my dry skin and after watching this video I'm going to buy tomorrow the Vicky Mineral 89. I hate taking a shower and as I dry I start seeing scalps around my nose, eyebrows and sometimes chin
I wonder what is the difference between the Neutrogena hydroboost sunscren and the biore one😕. They seem to have the same texture. Really love your videos ! 💗
Ugh, the bioré sunscreen has been my favourite for the longest time now! I used to hate applying sunscreen to my face, but it's phenomenal 👌 I used it on holiday whilst in the philippines (=equatorial sun) and I was burnt everywhere but in my face 😂
James can you please compare Vichy mineral 89 to la roche posay hyaluB5? It's a very similar product but I think the la roche posay one has more beneficial ingredients, but I hanen't tried any of them!
I recently subscribed and have been loving your videos! I also totally felt the same way about the Pixi mist - I was super excited to try it out but found the scent and the actual spray nozzle to be things I wish they would improve.
I'm loving the Purito sunscreen and have full confidence in Uvinul A Plus and Uvinul T-150 filters (same in Dear Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence). The Biore Watery Essence is beyond elegant, but my eyes just can't handle it -- I suspect it's the octinoxate, which the Purito thankfully doesn't have.
yesss the purito feels so good on the skin! Biore doesnt make my eyes sting....yet! I used to use one of the Neogen Sunscreens all the time but it just suddenly started to sting my eyes
Here in the US, Target has begun selling a brand called Versed. Please if you get a chance, review the brand!! I'll ship them to you lol... Also!! I've just learned about Peach & Lily from Cydnee Black. Thx!!!

Hey James, great video! quick question: would you recommend the Biore sunscreen over Klairs? Thank you!
Following
Same question!
The biore has ethanol as the primary ingredient, so unless you have oily skin like James probably not a good pick?
Hi this is an old question. But I have tried both of these and I gotta say Klairs is far better than the Biore one. The Biore one completely dries my skin out so unless you have oily skin I'd recommend the Klairs sunscreen 100%.
I love the pixie over my makeup it gives a beautiful dewy look just can’t put too much. The scent is ok it goes away so that’s good.
Sorry, but what was the serum?
Mad Hippie and Pacifica are two smaller, ‘indie’ brands that would be worth checking out! I have the Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum with ferulic acid and konjac root and it is absolutely incredible 👌
22 pounds for Vichy 89 serum 50mL is quite expensive. In France is 18€.
I missed your videos so I was just rewatching your older ones ♥️
awww haha! 3 new ones this week :P
@@JamesWelsh if you had to pick Krave or Biore sunscreen which would be your pick? I have Krave not sure if I should reorder or try Biore.
I love Vichy, the eye serum and the moisturizer I use everyday!
I’m loving the Biore too! 😍 must put that dr. Jarts cream in my wishlist! ❤️
I use the milky mist to set my makeup! It’s sooo good
I just got the Biore sunscreen after watching your video.
Oh God, I just got mine. Tested on arm and my skin has been hurting since then even after I washed it off with soap.😥😥
Seems good for summer so far!
ohhhh id love to try that! Thats my problem too, i would rather wear mineral but they sit and look so awful on the skin. But this one sounds great!
if you like vichy you HAVE to try la roche posay!! i love their products so much, they're all mild, fragrance-free and amazingly well formulated xx
colachim not for me
Biore is my sunscreen!
I absolutely love Vichy serum🙌🏼🥰 it feels so good on my skin
I’ve been loving the Dr Jart Hydro Gel. So lovely. Another newfound fave is Putito’s eye cream. I’m adoring it, and the $.
Thanks so much, doll🍃🌸.
I’ve always wondered about that Vichy booster, thanks for reviewing it!
I use the vichy booster and agree with what he said. I love using it.
LOL
I'm In love with the Pixi Milky Mist.
Hey James, loved the video! Do you have any advice for textured skin, like ingredients to look out for? 🤗❤
I don't know about the 2019 version of the Biore but the previous one had s strong alcoholy smell I really disliked. You should try the Canmake - Mermaid Skin Gel UV SPF 50+ PA++++. I'm sure you'll be amazed by its velvety finish!!!
Which do u prefer: Klairs vitamin e mask or dr Jart’s gel moisturizer?
I'm using that biore watery essence sunscreen now too. And he's right. It's has v thin consistency and sinks jnto skin well.
hey!!! I've ordered some Elf products :) hopefully will have a solid review up in a few months!
James Welsh Thank You!!! 🙏🏼🥰💯
If only Biore didn't contain bad alcohols :(. A good Japanese sunscreen I have heard of that does not contain alcohol is Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Milk SPF 50 PA++++
Just researched on the ingredients list of the Purito Sunscreen and it looks promising. Thank you for sharing!
I must try the vichy 89 in France its pretty sheap ❤️tank you for the recomandation
I just got it for 16 euros with a 15 ml day cream in a giftbox in my local French pharmacy 😍
I love the illustration of you at the end of video! So beautiful 💖
Hey! Thanks!!! It’s by my favourite artist Chris Mcparlan! You should check out his Instagram @chrismcparlan!
@@JamesWelsh thank you! Hope you have framed it and put it in your home.. It would look lovely 😍
Most people that have more experience in skin care will never buy it anymore XDD
But the low price and the comfortable texture help it alive in the drugstore.
*GASP* Non Korean products. I nearly fainted dead away when I heard that.
haha its felt so weird talking about non Korean stuff!
@@JamesWelsh Yeah, though, I'm glad you're branching out.
I know you don't like the smell of rose, but maybe try considering using Heritage Store's Rosewater and Glycerin?
Hi. I loooooove the Vichy one. You have to be super fast spreading in the skin though. Hahaha
New on the chanel, but loving it.
Best of luck. Xoxo's
I'm buying this Boire UV sunscreen just because of you
came here from robins recent vid with u and was so intrigued and interested in Korean skin care after seeing you explain it
Here after finding out the purito sunscreen is actually only spf 19🥲
I love that biore sunscreen. I got one to try and then bought four more which arrived a couple of days ago 😄 I used that Vichy mineral 89 for a while, but I'm using a The Hero Project HA at the moment, plumps out my fine lines nicely
I am looking for something for my dry skin and after watching this video I'm going to buy tomorrow the Vicky Mineral 89. I hate taking a shower and as I dry I start seeing scalps around my nose, eyebrows and sometimes chin
I love the Biore sunscreen because it's lightweight but it makes my face super oily after a few hours
I wonder what is the difference between the Neutrogena hydroboost sunscren and the biore one😕. They seem to have the same texture. Really love your videos ! 💗
had no idea they did a sunscreen! I better check it out!
If you like rosehip oil please try Essano’s organic rosehip oil. It’s amber in color & has worked the best for me so far 🙌
Ugh, the bioré sunscreen has been my favourite for the longest time now! I used to hate applying sunscreen to my face, but it's phenomenal 👌 I used it on holiday whilst in the philippines (=equatorial sun) and I was burnt everywhere but in my face 😂
Jasmin where do you buy yours from?
I need me that Biore UV Aqua...it’s just sooo gooood.
It really is.
its honestly soooo amazing!
Here in the US, Target has begun selling a brand called Versed. Please if you get a chance, review the brand!! I'll ship them to you lol... Also!! I've just learned about Peach & Lily from Cydnee Black. Thx!!!
