Woh. I watched this video so many times to hear this snare and was always impressed with the playing without noticing who recorded it until seeing your IG
Just like the demonstrators comment at about 3:50 WOW!!. My 1st thought when I unboxed and played mine. I did change my top skin to an Evans ST dry and put a set of 42 strand wires on bottom. There are brass snare drums(have had well over 20) and then there is this ONE!! WOW!! That's all I can really say.
@@robsco1249 The black beauty is also brass, so basically they are the same drum. The famed Super Ludwig 400s were also brass, only chromed. In my opinion the Ludwig iterations in brass are the best sounding snare drums ever.
So many great snares so little time. Your playing always so fresh👌🏽. The medium tuning reminded me of some of the Meters snare sound recordings. Good ol Zig 👌🏽🎉🥁🔥
What kind of hi hat clutch is that? Man, you very deservedly have the tastiest gear. Please consider doing a comparison video between your 30th hats of different sizes
freehaven1 : Hey thanks! Could you possibly describe the differences in sound? I’d guess the CopperPhonic is the darkest and the SupraPhonic would be the brightest and driest. Is that right? And do you prefer one over the others? I have two Birch snares. I just bought a Taye 14x5 Brushed Black Nickel over Brass. I thought it lacked sensitivity, was too loud, and did not blend in well with the rest of the kit. Everyone talks so much about these Ludwig metal snares that I’m considering getting one. But which one and which depth? Another guy said he preferred the regular Ludwig lugs to the tube ones.
I have the BB, Supra, and a Pewter Copperphonic, I was getting ready to pull the trigger on a regular copper phonic, then I heard this Raw Brass. And as much as I wanted that beautiful copper phonic I have decided on this raw brass. As far as differences it depends how you set up your snares , heads, snares , etc and don’t forget the skill level of the drummer. Carter is Beast at Getting any sound he wants out of a drum so I say get in the store and start trying em out like you would cymbals it has to be your ears and your hands on that particular drum
I don’t like how he’s got it tuned to start. It’s much more dry than I expected, and a great looking snare. I gotta say my lm402’s are far more versatile, and a bit less expensive. I recently used the Gretch Bell Brass, and although at a higher price,, WOW!

HAJAHHAHAHA
Sounds fantastic man! The Medium tuning is my favourite, Ludwig makes the best drums! 🥁
That sounds so awesome one of the best snares I have heard
Ludwig makes the best snares!
I bought this because of this video. Sounds great!! Worth the money,
I have one myself. Truly an awesome pure sound. Best is on medium, and with the snare semi loose, giving it that sweet, rough sound.
im contemplating this or the black beauty, is it really just drier?
@@gabe1655 I own a 14x8 and I would say yes ...drier .

I'm pretty sure Carter could make a cardboard box sound awesome, but that sure is one sweet snare drum.
