I cried BUCKETS when I read that. I was in 7th grade and I had such a huge breakdown when it was over. I cried till my eyes were swollen shut and had to miss a day of school. It's such a gut wrenching book!
x• NL •x Same here! But I'll probably be disappointed because of how much I loved Finch and the relationship with him and Violet. It's one of my favorite books and I don't think a movie can replicate my feelings, but still I'm excited!
I just finished reading that book today, it was completely heartbreaking. I knew how it’d end so I had tried to put of finishing the book. The letter from Finch to Violet made my eyes water but I didn’t cry.
I finished the last 50 pages of All the Bright Places at lunch in public. I was sitting with friends and I was so overwhelmed with the ending I cried so hard. It's definitely in my top favourites!
Sara W The first book that made me cry was either The Outsiders or Walk Two Moons. Read them in sixth grade almost 10 years ago and I was sobbing in the middle of class.
oh man.. I totally started tearing up when you started talking about the "character" that dies in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. ..ugh, so heart wrenching.
the only book i can think of that has made me just cry like crazy is All the bright places. like i had to go to my bedroom to be alone to finish reading that one. books don't usually make me cry either.
Books always make me cry but through the entire book I was sobbing and then towards the end I was straight up ugly crying. I had to go to my room because at the end when everyone is looking for finch I felt like I knew what was about to happen and I was in my living room with my sister, mom and dad so im like nooooope I have to go be alone now lmao Great book though!
"Marley and me".... I was a M E S S . The last chapters really broke my heart and I couldn't stop crying like a baby! And it's very rare to see me cry for a book
I still remember I was 13 when I watched the movie and at the end of it I was crying like a baby. Even after days of watching it I wasn't over it. Then after a while I finally got over it. But it was not for long because I came to know that the movie was based on a "non-fictional" book of the same name by John Grogan. And that made me cry harder. All I can say about it is that I Loved The Best Worst Dog Of The World.
We Were Liars was definitely one book that I couldn't quite forget after reading it. It was quietly unsettling and once you start crying, you just don't stop
I am the same type of person, I rarely ever cry while reading books. It's not because I don't make a connection or distance myself from the characters or plots, because I do get emotional about when certain scenes happen and I become very invested in the stories but I am just not a cryer. I do cry during movies or tv shows just not books. The only books I can remember crying in or getting super emotional would be when I reread The Lord of the Rings last year. It was a complete emotional journey for me where I was coming full circle within the story and within my life. The other book I remember getting emotional about was Diana Gabaldon's novel Voyager with a specific scene where Jamie and Claire have a fight.
Isabelle Stephens OMG same I started crying in the middle and then the last 100 pages were just on and off sobbing and then the epilogue KILLED ME I was crying so hard
All the bright places and extremely loud and incredibly close made me cry! Extremely loud and incredibly close is so underrated! Everyone should read it
I read The Book Thief this year and honestly I cried so much while reading it! 😭❤ I enjoyed that it was narrated by death because that gave it a unique feature since not many books are narrated on that perspective. I'll be honest and say I was kind of iffy when I discovered that it was narrated by death's point of view but as soon as I started reading it, I was amazed and hooked! It's a really great read and words can't express how much I love it! ❤❤
i bought We Were Liars in the stockholm airport on my way home from study abroad, finished the book on the plane ride home, and was super grateful that i had my plane row to myself cause i was crying so much. i also cried at the ending of The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood, cause that ending hits you like a TON OF BRICKS.
You can cry , but really what happens to Jamie is up to your imagination the book doesnt make it clear if dies or no, the movie does though, but it's your world you can have what you want😉
I refuse to read that book because I have made a mistake of going and watch the movie 'Sanam teri kasam' and I cried so hard, that's how bad the movie was.
I feel you about Crown of Midnight. I was so sad about that too. It got worse when I got to Empire of Storms. By the time I finished book 5 I was shattered.
A monster calls ruined me, I was not ready for the ending at all! I´m planning on reading the book thief soon, it´s been on my shelf for almost a year but i´m super excited to start it :) Also, i don´t think I cried during the fault in our stars either, but looking for alaska on the other hand made me weep
Marie GIRL YES!! I had to do A Monster Calls for English and legit at the end had to close my eyes and take myself away from the book because I was going to cry in class. Too much
I think the only reason the fault in our stars made me cry so hard was because many people who mean or meant the world to me have been impacted so strongly by cancer or killed by it and it just brought back those losses, but for people who haven't had that i can see not crying reading it :P
Salt to the Sea made me ugly cry. It was pretty late at night when I finished and I basically just cried myself to sleep after. Still not over it. And also cried at Deathly Hallows. Mostly during The Forest Again chapter dear Lord that one gets me every single time, book and movie.
I'm thoroughly surprised that you didn't put any John Green on this list! I've literally cried through four of the five Throne of Glass books that I've read lol I also cried heavily during A Monster Calls and The Book Thief, since I have an emotional connection to both having suffered personal loss
the one.... yes omg!!! Just the climax...god I totally freaked out where Macon catches america and aspen talking...oh and also what followed next..really cry worthy
I was finishing The Book Thief late at night while I was camping and I was full on sobbing trying not to wake anyone! That book is one of my favorites!
Let me just tell you that All the Bright Places had me in tears. Had to reevalute my life after that and i did. I have never been so influenced by a book (apart from the Book Thief) in my life
The One! oh goodness. i was sobbing so hard. my sister came into my room cause she thought I was dying. I was rolling around in the floor clutching the book. there's actual tear marks on the pages when all the shebang goes down at the end.
Books I reccommend: -Coraline *A book about a girl that went into another dimention..* (I usually dont like these type of book but I really liked it) -The fault in our stars *A romance book about 2 people fighting cancer*
The selection practicly destroyed me. I just finished it recently and i LOVE it. I cry all the time over it and it broke my heart. It tied me into knots. I dont really know how to explain it but it was just so wonderful. i had high expectations for the heir and the crown but tbh i find them boring and very predictable. It was like comparing mean girls 2 to mean girls. I really hope they dont ruin the movie, but it probably wont live up to my expectations considering how much i love the series. by the way ive been binge watching ur videos, new sub!
@Sarah Kellogg i read it after i had a huge fight with 2 best friend i read the book as an escape and the ending just made cry even more but i loved it!
I am totally with you on we were liars! I was liking the book, but I didn't think I cared as much as I did. Until the end, I was just sitting in my room sobbing tissues everywhere. And I never cry in books! And I still think about it even though I read it a while ago. I think that's what makes a good book!
I can't believe you didn't cry at The Fault in Our Stars! I am a big book-crier and even if you aren't I can't believe you didn't cry for The Fault in Our Stars. In a way that was what made me so die-hard connected with that book (along with the perspective and writing style). Wow. I'm kind of mind-blown.
Yep to EVERYTHING you said about we were liars! I wasn’t that into it and I didn’t know how to feel about the book and then I got to the end and I was bawling and loving the book so much lol
I did cry in we were liars, but nothing will ever compare to how I cried at the end of Enders Game. I think because I am a mother and my oldest was the same age as Ender was at the end. Having the development and maturity of your child in your face, while reading about one who was tasked with such a heavy burden just really tugged on my mama heart. I loved a monster calls but I did not cry, it just made me take mental note to mention it to anyone dealing with grief.
You mentioned crown of midnight and instantly tears shot to my eyes. Good god girl.. this book. But I think the end and the scene by the boat are, what gave me the rest. My tiny heart can't handle all those emotions 😭 Also: I love your videos! Keep going on like this! 😊
I finished Salt to the Sea about 6 months ago and I am still not over it. It was so beautifully told. It's a story that I am so glad I got to read but it's also so sad that there was this catastrophic event and hardly anyone knows about it.
I've just finished ''we were liars'' and I totally understand why you cried, it's just heartbreaking the way it ends and how the author describes everything (trying not to spoil anything)
"Every Last Word" Made me literally sob, it's such an amazing read and will change your perspective on mental disorders, specifically OCD. Really, you should read it!
I just discovered your account, and I binge watch your videos! Your passion on reading can really be seen on how you explain every book! I love it! because of that, almost all the books you recommend, I put it on my "to-buy" list because I was convinced on your explanations :) More recommendation videos (and subscribers) to come! So much love from the Philippines!
Sarah's Key is the only book that made me cry. And I didn't just cry I had like a proper meltdown I was so emotional. But that book is so so good and everyone should read it. Especially if you enjoy Historical Fiction / The Book Thief.
I love the video but I can't relate to it. Certain books make me cry every time I even think about them. I just feel like once i get to know the characters and love the characters and kind of see them grow and go through so much it always hits me hard when something happens to them. But that's just me, I get super emotional reading.
The books that made cry are: Looking for Alaska, The Fault in Our Stars, City of Heavenly Fire, Clockwork Princess, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, A Court of Mist and Fury and A Court of Wings and Ruin. There are so many more though😢
I read Tell The Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rifka Brunt earlier this year and I SOBBED. HIGHLY recommend it! I never hear anyone talking about it but it's amazing.

x• NL •x Same here! But I'll probably be disappointed because of how much I loved Finch and the relationship with him and Violet. It's one of my favorite books and I don't think a movie can replicate my feelings, but still I'm excited!
Julia Caster I get what you mean, and I agree. I usually tend to think that the books are way better than the movies, and most of the time, they are

WE WERE LIARS MADE ME CRY SO HARD
I am the same type of person, I rarely ever cry while reading books. I've cried at The Fault in Our Stars and Eleanor & Park because those two books are just so sweet and it's easy to feel like you're in the story
What about A Walk to Remember?
Rachel Lucas that is the best book I have ever read so emotional and beautiful
Nothing can compare
You can cry , but really what happens to Jamie is up to your imagination the book doesnt make it clear if dies or no, the movie does though, but it's your world you can have what you want😉
Real heartbreaker. That book tore me up, yet some what gave me hope.
Marie same here dying to read it
Marie have fun with the book thief, i havent read looking for alaska yet :/
Marie GIRL YES!! I had to do A Monster Calls for English and legit at the end had to close my eyes and take myself away from the book because I was going to cry in class. Too much
The half-blood prince made me cry like anything....😭😭
I was okay with the deathly hallows though...
I cried yesterday when I finished Me Before You... it crushed me completely. I literally needed a day to recover from it.
I think the only reason the fault in our stars made me cry so hard was because many people who mean or meant the world to me have been impacted so strongly by cancer or killed by it and it just brought back those losses, but for people who haven't had that i can see not crying reading it :P
The song of Achilles made me cry for days. I'm still not over it.
Crown of Midnight made me cry like a baby. I totally feel you... that death in CoM was so freaking sad. Ugh!!!!
Salt to the Sea made me ugly cry. It was pretty late at night when I finished and I basically just cried myself to sleep after. Still not over it. And also cried at Deathly Hallows. Mostly during The Forest Again chapter dear Lord that one gets me every single time, book and movie.

the one.... yes omg!!! Just the climax...god I totally freaked out where Macon catches america and aspen talking...oh and also what followed next..really cry worthy

But i think she should include the fault in our stars
Oh my god....We Were Liars made me cry out a river...I was like "What" at the end
Same, I cried so much with 'We were liars'!!!
When you are reading Crown of midnight and you see this video.... fuck
LS. Me too, I'm scared.
Empire of Storms = Empire of FEELS
Also I teared up and there was a huge lump in my throat at the end of Queen of Shadows.
We are so fucked up..
That book shattered me so bad
We were liars broke me. I absolutely love it I don't understand how a book can make me feel a certain way but my god.
THRONE OF GLASS SERIES IS AMAZING
I was finishing The Book Thief late at night while I was camping and I was full on sobbing trying not to wake anyone! That book is one of my favorites!
Let me just tell you that All the Bright Places had me in tears. Had to reevalute my life after that and i did. I have never been so influenced by a book (apart from the Book Thief) in my life
I cry so easily, but both The Book Thief and Illuminae made me sob so much!
The One! oh goodness. i was sobbing so hard. my sister came into my room cause she thought I was dying. I was rolling around in the floor clutching the book. there's actual tear marks on the pages when all the shebang goes down at the end.
"Gone with the Wind" made me ball my eyes out at 2 in the morning, absolutely destroyed me... Still one of my favorite books though ❤
Books I reccommend:
-Coraline *A book about a girl that went into another dimention..* (I usually dont like these type of book but I really liked it)
-The fault in our stars *A romance book about 2 people fighting cancer*
The selection practicly destroyed me. I just finished it recently and i LOVE it. I cry all the time over it and it broke my heart. It tied me into knots. I dont really know how to explain it but it was just so wonderful. i had high expectations for the heir and the crown but tbh i find them boring and very predictable. It was like comparing mean girls 2 to mean girls. I really hope they dont ruin the movie, but it probably wont live up to my expectations considering how much i love the series. by the way ive been binge watching ur videos, new sub!
The Catcher in the Rye made me cry
I feel the exact same about we were liars! I couldn't believe that that was the end

I am totally with you on we were liars! I was liking the book, but I didn't think I cared as much as I did. Until the end, I was just sitting in my room sobbing tissues everywhere. And I never cry in books! And I still think about it even though I read it a while ago. I think that's what makes a good book!
we are the opposite books with any sad part make me cry its because i grow to be friends with the characters and i feel like I'm with them
I sobbed with We Were Liars, too. I couldn't believe what I was reading.

I cried soooo much to We Were Liars...I just could not stop crying
Omg I’ve never seen a bookshelf organized by color 😂😆😂 genius! I’d do the same if I had that many books
Yep to EVERYTHING you said about we were liars! I wasn’t that into it and I didn’t know how to feel about the book and then I got to the end and I was bawling and loving the book so much lol
Reading We were liars was exactly like you said for me as well, I was unsure of it the whole time and then the ending got me and I was sobbing af 😭
The Clockwork Princesssss
My tiny heart can't handle all those emotions 😭
Also: I love your videos! Keep going on like this! 😊
I finished Salt to the Sea about 6 months ago and I am still not over it. It was so beautifully told. It's a story that I am so glad I got to read but it's also so sad that there was this catastrophic event and hardly anyone knows about it.

her one direction calendar in the back....bless😪👌🏽
Its 2020 and I still haven't read any of these books
I've just finished ''we were liars'' and I totally understand why you cried, it's just heartbreaking the way it ends and how the author describes everything (trying not to spoil anything)
I own Crown of Midnight but have not yet read it... so now I'm terrified. Thanks a lot.
Please let us know I think it is
Spoilers for deathly hallows

tianasbookreads UGH I CRY EVERY TIME 😭
Between shades of grey was SO FREAKING GOOD
Copper Sun makes me cry each time. It talks about slavery and it's a really great book
"Every Last Word" Made me literally sob, it's such an amazing read and will change your perspective on mental disorders, specifically OCD. Really, you should read it!
Omg I read The Book Thief because I heard of it in one of your videos - I BAWLED MY EYES OUT!😂 Best book I've ever read though. Thanks for the tip! :)
I haven't read anything by Morgan Matson yet - but I recently bought Amy and Roger's Epic Detour. Cannot wait to read it!!!
I cried at The assassins blade,A monster calls,The fault in our stars 😭😭💔💔
Sarah's Key is the only book that made me cry. And I didn't just cry I had like a proper meltdown I was so emotional. But that book is so so good and everyone should read it. Especially if you enjoy Historical Fiction / The Book Thief.
The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton made me cry like a baby, but also inspired me to become a writer myself.
Champion by Marie Lu made me cry. I bawled.
I never really cry from reading books, but two exceptions to that are More Happy Than Not and The Kite Runner
I can't remember if I cried when first reading the Deathly Hallows, I probably at least teared up a bit haha :P
The Kite Runner fucked me up
wostormsoccer right?? I was a complete mess while reading it
I love the video but I can't relate to it. Certain books make me cry every time I even think about them. I just feel like once i get to know the characters and love the characters and kind of see them grow and go through so much it always hits me hard when something happens to them. But that's just me, I get super emotional reading.
The books that made cry are:
Looking for Alaska, The Fault in Our Stars, City of Heavenly Fire, Clockwork Princess, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, A Court of Mist and Fury and A Court of Wings and Ruin. There are so many more though😢
I read Tell The Wolves I'm Home by Carol Rifka Brunt earlier this year and I SOBBED. HIGHLY recommend it! I never hear anyone talking about it but it's amazing.
All the bright places made me want to lock myself up in my room for a week.❤the best there is,the best there ever will be.
