You could do it either way. It can be a little messy to remove, because of the mixture you soak the cake with. But either way is fine.

What bollocks. I followed the recipe and 1 hour and 30 minutes later than advised my cake was just done. It tastes delicious but timing and oven settings to this recipe are all wrong
