"I'll give you my opinion, take it or leave it" Right here is why you should listen to John. He's not forcing his opinion of what works on you, he just wants you to be open. Too many other bodybuilders talk like they have the secret and it only works their way.
Perfectly stated. Play with what works. Not everyone is built the same. Not everyone's muscles react the same. If they did there'd be one workout. Keep it up big guy.
Dan Williams Yeaa everyone reacts different to excersise for me when I do bench press I don’t feel no crazy pump in my chest but when I do push ups I get a huge pump and when I use the hammer strength machine for chest that also gives me a good pump
Imo the best weight lifting and body building coach, even better than Coach Greg, just because how relatable he is and he explains things makes it so easy to understand
RIP John!! You are missed but never forgotten!! I will watch your videos for the rest of my life!! Whoever is managing John's You Tube channel please keep in running, his videos have made a huge impact on my physique!! I am going to train the pec minor today with chest and shoulders!!
The reverse shrug was definately an awesome exercise. I have never seen anyone do them at the gym and never seen anyone even talk about them. It's these exercises that you share with us that put you far ahead of anyone else. Your knowledge is superior to a lot of the 'gurus' on the internet now. Thank you for doing what you're doing. It's such a breath of fresh air.
"That's my opinion take it or leave it" A confident man doesn't need to convince you by force. This dude demonstrates and encourages you to try and find what works for you rather then push what works for him on you
Man no one deserves to die but then there's people who really really shouldn't have been taken away from us. This guy had so much left to offer the world. Prayers up to his beautiful family as well 🙏🏽
I'm an old guy been lifting on and off for over 40 years. John is great, make stuff easy to understand and has common sense. Really appreciate his way of getting it done.
Thank you for still posting these great informative videos even though John is no longer with us. His knowledge can live on forever this way. R.I.P. good man
I started using the 10 second holds and partials after I saw them on John's videos and they have started taking my workouts to the next level! I started on Cluster Dextrin on John's advice and I noticed that with even harder workouts with more weight and more sets I wasn't getting as sore, which is great for recovery, but left me feeling like I had to start taking it to the next level so I started holding the weight for ten seconds along with partials. Im around John's age but nowhere near as fit but I can tell you his dietary guidance and training videos are excellent if you want to put on mass without taking huge risks for injuries as John's guidance on propper form has really cleaned up my lifts. Great stuff on John's channel.
Doing this workout as my honorary John Meadows lift. looks like a couple of people also chose this workout as a tribute. I learned a ton from watching his videos throughout the years, i regularly Implement his exercises into my routine. Thank you for all the good knowledge. RIP
I'm going to keep watching John Meadows,,his advice on Bodybuilding exercises are timeless,,,.. just watching his videos,,in the Covid Years 2020.2021. lockdown era,,,are inspiring and relaxing...R.I.P. JOHN.
Keep up the solid quality content. You’re a breath of fresh locker room air! No annoying music, no useless jibber jabber. I’m feeling my exercises correctly after years of not understanding the muscle I was working. Your tips about where the muscles connect are invaluable. I’m also impressed at how you still have a desire to learn!
Truly amazing with all the fitness on UA-cam this man manages to teach tips I never heard before. After being so excited to come across this channel I was completely floored to learn of his untimely departure. Thank you sir! Rest peacefully but you will live forever
Im 39 and when im 47 I hope I can still have the strength and mobility you have.. Thx for the Inspiration to keep Pushing .. I needed to see this today
So sad to even think Mr. John is gone. But the beauty of having his knowledge for Gains, while not having Mr. John around is priceless. Really grateful. R.I.P.
John was amazing because he knew a ton and he was so open about sharing his knowledge. A lot of trainers have the mindset "if you really want the in-depth info you have to pay". The info he's given out for free is super, super valuable
Finally someone who showed me the right way to do a bench press, I've almost had an injury from last time working out, this man is like a father figure of gymbros.
When I train pec deck machine I do 3 sets. 1st set = seat high, hands low. 2nd set = middle seat, middle hands. 3rd set = low seat, hands high. Hit those angles
Starting some frequency training on Monday from volume for a few months and this short chest workout is perfect to pair with some light biceps Thanks John!
"Shorten the distance" Jesus Christ. Such a simple definition but profound. That is quite literally, and literally is a word that is used alot, exactly what I have been looking for. Thank you.
John. Is it that the slight decline will make the distance from the bar to your chest further. I do a slight decline barbell benchpress and i felt weaker but i can feel my chest more. Please advice thanks
John Meadows= Best Trainer PERIOD! He has introduced me to Pec Minor Dips and Meadows Rows, two staples in my routine that have provided results. Thank you, and keep the videos coming. I will always watch and absorb!!
RIP MountainDog! I have done his workouts year in and year out and have learned so many good things about fixing movements and diet tweaks that keep me going daily.
I can not imagine anyone not liking John or appreciating his hands on method of teaching. Everytime I rewatch a video of John's I learn something new I missed
This is an all time Meadows video, perfectly encapsulates what he is about. Bringing in science plus his coaching expertise/experience to craft a master piece lift!
Mad respect big dog. I've seen all your videos and I'm still picking up tips from you. Cracked me up when you mentioned the Guru Vince Gironda. Rest easy to you both. Blessings family
Just found you a few days ago and have been binge watching your videos. Gets me fired up to try new techniques that make sense. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and knowledge in a humble way.
I tried this workout last night and was completely impressed with the burn from working the pectoralis minor. I'm sure it looked like I could not do a correct dip, but you were so right about the pump you feel under your chest? I really appreciate your insight! Thank you
Johns knowledge is superb, his videos straight to the point and easy to understand for all. I’ve been a personal trainer for and trainee for 17 years and I’ve studied studied studied, John is spot on in all he says. Guys listen to him train hard train smart and u won’t go far wrong. Keep up the great content John.
Another amazing video where I’ve taken more than one huge tip for my workout. Stuff I’ve been doing less than ideally for 30 years. What a gift these videos are!
Another great video. It amazes me how much we are alike in the way we both train the same way as to get the best workout, the safest way without getting injured at 50 years old. I used to touch the bar to my chest on inclines too, but no more because of the same reason. I can really relate to your workouts. Great stuff John. Thx!
Tried this today... Wow! Just superset with upper back stuff and core, it's amazing how such small tweaks can make such a huge difference! Thank you for this amazing free content!!!
I've been workout out for 21 years and Meadows has opened my eyes too soo much new techniques and ways to work out without injuring ourselves as we get older. Guy is a great follow on youtube.
I tried the slight decline variation he showed and absolutely loved it! I felt a much greater contraction in my chest and will definitely be adding that into future push days! Thank you!
Over the past 2 years John's 20 degree incline and decline dumbbell recommendation finally got me the squared off upper and lower pec development I wanted. Forever thanks Mtn Dog!
I'll be doing this workout tomorrow as a personal little tribute for John. RIP 🙏 ❤
