Seriously, this is THE BEST explanation/guide on how to set up VM and OBS while letting you use VM to make your mic sound better. Thank you for doing this, I've watched so many videos on this trying to figure it out. You made it VERY easy!
when i test my audio on discord i get crackling, i followed all steps exactly up to 6:24 when i heard the cracking!! that being said, EVERYTHING ELSE is working perfectly, extremely easy to follow video! saved my life!! the problem is definitely with discord itself.
maybe its a bit late but look in the sound settings and turn off from every single audio device the exklusiv win mode that was my problem with the ckrackling you need than restart voicemeeter what can takes a short time@@KUREHA3D
I recently upgraded PCs and forgot how to set up everything (I had set it up back in 2019 I think), but this video was a really nice refresher and well explained. For some reason, my old blue yeti did not work, but maybe it's a sign to buy a brand new one :D thx m8! Subscribed to show support and appreciation.
Something to keep in mind. ALL MICROPHONES ARE MONO DEVICES. Even professional XLR microphones are a MONO DEVICE. If you are plugging it in and getting a dual channel signal it has already been processed and split.
Hey, I want to build surround. I got 2 speaker on the low front, 2 speakers on the middle front [little higher], 2 speakers on the low back and 2 more at higher back. I don't know how to set VoiceMeteer to recognize which speaker is in which location, to have full surround sound from everywhere on the room 🥹 Any suggestions? Thanks.
have you done a video about your EQ? I have a sure microphone as well and would love to see your EQ in more detail. Thanks! and great video! very helpful.
the only thing i cant get to understand is the levels of volume on each thing like thelevel of volume on my usb mic discord obs is all different and i just hear hella background shit like its to sensitive
Maybe I'm just not getting it. I want to isolate browser audio from my stream since I often have a video playing in the background between instances/loads in game. But I am failing to see how to do this while still receiving the audio on my end.
The crackling, the constant restarting to make it work even restarting whole pc sometimes to get rid of it and this is what made me move over from VM to Sonar and I actually wish I did it sooner. Easier, faster, no crackling and two virtual cables for free and if it isn't working a simple refresh works and its good to go again. Gutted because lets be honest VM looks great and it looks professional and once you've understood how it works and how to set it up its great and makes you feel like a whiz kid but the constant failures of that program is just a no go.
hai hai, so i have my microphones set up with filters and equalizers in OBS. whenever i route my microphone to go through VM all of my microphone settings in OBS do not get taken into consideration and i get a really poor quality sound. so as an option, if i am just using my microphone through OBS can i leave it there and not have it routed through VM specifically when i stream?
@@toll90 Do what he did near the end of the video in the windows sound settings, you can select your browser, and route the output to a different source.
I can get voicmeeter potato to work with OBS, my issue is that my guitar and microphone do not sync up with audio from a youtube video when I try to play along. My guitar and mic seem to have a delay and I can not figure out how to fix it. I tried adjusting the offset sync time and that did not work.
The only real way to get a perfect sync is if you are listening from a monitor, like an audio interface. VM is not a good monitor source because it is so delayed and it would be really difficult to sync. What audio interface are you using?
I am stuck at around 6 min. When I record through voicemeter, it sounds great. When it goes through OBS it sounds like im in a tunnel with a bit of echo. Everything is set to the same hz and monitoring is off.
I’d have to take a look at your routing. It could be an issue with the type of input. I’m working on a specific OBS setup cause I get a lot of questions about it. If you shot me a message in my discord, I’ll help you out.
just turn off any procesing from voicemeeter on the mic and do it directly on OBS. if you had a Blue Mic or Logitech headset with Blue Voice tech you can do all the processing on G Hub to select your mic device on Voicemeeter and send it to OBS via B1.
Why can't I hear my friends when using cable as output in discord? when I change it back to default everything is good. also if i use aux output my mic sounds terrible
If you are having issues with not hearing anything or hearing yourself, check to ensure your A1 or wherever your mic is not selected. Also check that your input is selected correctly. Watch the video one or 2 more times to check the routing. It is a little confusing at first.
when i set the voicemeeter hardware out to my headphones that i want to use, i get no sound no where. no matter what i do. i literally followed your steps step by step and i was getting no sound no where. please help
@@Beatwalker i kinda fixed the problem. my headset (Razer Nari Ultimate) comes with two different audio channels built in. one is game channel and the other is the chat channel. but it also has some features called THX Spatial. well when i set A1 to that or the synapse version, it doesnt play sound from voicemeeter. that was my problem. i dont know why it does this, but i just set A1 to the game channel and it works. i then set A2 to channel the chat sounds and all communications come through the chat channel and that works for me. thank you tho
@beatwalker do you know if I can use my xtouch mini to control an EQ that would effect the sounds in Windows so that when I turn a knob it increases or decreases a specific parametric eq setting realtime?
On that last part where you setup Spotify as its own source. im trying to do that for Apple music and it wont work. no matter what i do, weather its the vb cable i downloaded, or the VAIO 3. all it wants to do is play through with the rest of my desktop audio. How can i fix this?
Also why are there glitches in the sound output of the browser? I tried to switch it on MME but there is still minor scratches that you can hear. Thank you!
I follow how to setup what I am trying to figure out is Why. I use OBS and can record all the components I need what is Voicemeeter bringing to the table?
Flexibility with your audio, additional virtual outputs, EQ, ability to adjust individual programs audio while having a singular output. If you keep your setup relatively simple, it's not necessary, but it's great freeware.
There are a few things missing from this version. See updated 2024 version here: ua-cam.com/video/XkMsElmW1j0/v-deo.html

Yeah, if it's on just the test, it's not perfect. If it's constant and your friends can hear crackling. I did a video on that as well.
thanks my friend!!

You can use the Cable to isolate what you'd like. Instead of using it for discord. Otherwise, it will always be mixed with all your desktop audio.
thanks to you i am going to try somthing fun on omegle tonight ❤

Hi there Im stuck on changing the default to voicemeeter it doesn't show voicemeeter as an option only the vcable output driver.
Make sure to restart your computer after installing voice meter.
I'm curious as to why you didn't use the ASIO option as your hardware out. Does it cause issues with OBS?
is this against twitch tos?

I'm trying to play music to Xbox party chat this way but the music isn't clear. Is there something I can do about that?
Haven’t necessarily tried this, it has to do with any filters XBox has on their input. Make sure everything is off.
bad audio driver installation detected?
This should help you out. This has to do with the VB cable installation. forum.vb-audio.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=688
I prefer REAPER + SAR.

So I know there is a delay to Voicemeeter because it isn’t a direct monitor, but it should be more than a second or 2 from my experience.
