Nope, I believe one of the employees misused the company equipment.
@@Jose_Jimenez I don't think so, the owner was not able to produce a rental agreement. He is responsible for this mess.
@@Jose_JimenezYou sound a little like the “supposed” renter of the truck. Typical Oakland person, throwing garbage in their own backyard
$1,000 fine that's it? Sounds like a bargain compared to the time and money saved going to a dump. Fine should be $10,000... see how many people dump then.
Not surprising, the people running Oakland are highly incompetent
That is on top of the costs to pick up and dispose of it.
They don't like law enforcement
The cleanup cost plus waste disposal could be as high as 15k. You have to keep in mind that they will bill that guy for double time, dpw workers there probably make about 25 an hour. Then they’ll charge double what the fuel costs are, being diesel trucks in California that could be 11 a gallon times 2.
And they should have their business license revoked.
Horse pocky. The tree company knows exactly who dumped this stuff. There should be a $10,000 fine for businesses that illegally dump stuff.
While the city of San Francisco is being sued by the Environmental Protection Agency EPA for dumping the cities sewage into the San Francisco Bay 😂
10k is too little! I toss a piece of paper out my car and litter = 1k Fine already. This company should get minimum of $50k fine

It's the same with tire dumping..
Guaranteed to keep the dump fee and dumped on the street if you hire dudes standing out in front of home depot.
That would have cost over 1k
100%
I do it everyday easy money
And then everyone blames homeless people.
Company should be responsible for bill. No matter of “rented.” His truck his problem.
Im not buying it. No contractor would rent his truck and risk this very thing happening and wrecking their reputation. Consequences of having a defacto monopolistic industry run waste disposal and low moral fiber in society.

@@BajatheChickenMan Not if you are black or a minority.
Why can’t some inspector suspend the Business or Contractor License of that company? Take them out of Business immediately.
Bureaucracy. Above their pay grade, they can issue fines and make recommendations that the license be suspended but it would likely have to go before some committee who likely won't do anything without an extensive track record of previous violations. The city could blacklist them and deny them permits but this kind of company would likely just continue to conduct business without them.
I understand it would increase future penalties, but do you really think taking away their license will stop them?
ARE YOU REALLY SERIOUS ?? .....THIS IS THE NEW AMERICA !!...WERE NOT IN KANSAS ANYMORE !!
The trash the truck is dumping is keeping Oakland looking beautiful in the eyes of liberals.
Just seize the vehicle.
Owner says he rented it out , can't produce any documentation .Anonymous caller said he was the renter , said a city official whose name he didn't have , told him to dump it there .
So mister Galindo as well as being an illegal dumper , is also a prolific liar .
He tipped it in a park ! What a dirtbag .
How did he convince one of his workers to call in 😊
Kinda funny that some guy who 'rented the truck' had the same logo on the back of his hi viz safety vest as the logo on the truck. Must have rented that too! A real full-service rental.
Galindo can't even lie their way out of this one. TRASH company.
That is definitely him/his employee lol
"Oh yeah I rented my truck to someone... nah I don't have any proof of me doing it, but yeah that's it... oh yeah he paid in cash too so I don't even know who it was" Unfortunately illegal dumping fines are disgustingly low, so there's no real discouragement to it at all.
There are rules and regulations about renting as well. This guy is just digging deeper and deeper whether his story is true or not.
The fact the vest he is wearing is a company vest. Clear logo. I doubt that's part of the rental agreement.😅
Jose Galindo needs to go to prison. There is zero chance that he is not connected with this. What a crook.

Weak on crime. Only $1,000 fine. Ridiculous. I want to see a follow up on this and see what the prosecution is.
$1000 plus cost of clean up
It’s a city code violation not a state crime for illegal dumping (unless it’s on state property). That’s why the fine is not steep or criminal charges cant be implemented to the courts unless it’s a repeated offender (after 3 strikes)

One reason why is the outrageous dumping fees in CA. I live out of state and our dump fees are super cheap. We don't have an illegal dumping problem.

The fine is in addition to the costs of the clean-up, which will likely include the costs of delivering equipment, union labor, and dump fees. He'll probably be billed a few thousand.

AH SO
This isn't the only time this company has dumped in the area
WTF is wrong with people?
Nothing happens to them... 81 million voted for this
I live in farmland down south of Morgan Hill. And every weekend, trucks like this come by and dump somewhere in our neighborhood and they do it at night when everyone is sleeping and since our house is 500 ft off the road, you never hear them do it. Drive down the street and bam, new pile of garbage. It takes about a week for it to get cleaned up and Piles that end up in front of my house I end up cleaning up and running to the dump just to get rid of it since sometimes they pull up into my field and dump it and if its not on the city street, I get stuck with the bill of cleaning it up. And it sucks, it costs money to dump and I am having to pay someone else's bill. I think it should be a high fine and minimum 30 days in jail for the first offense, and double it on the second, then give them a year for the third and remove their drivers license and make them wear ankle bracelets so they can be tracked. Its a huge problem, 34 million pounds of illegally dumped garbage just in Oakland, what about all the other cities around it? And companies like this do rent out their trucks, especially if business is slow and they need money to make the payments on those trucks. Its a risk yes with insurance, but sometimes you have to do it to make ends meet and pay the bills. It sucks for them if someone like this uses it to do something illegal because everyone will blame the business instead of the driver. SO this tree business will lose business because someone rented his truck committed a crime and he will pay for it just like we all paid to have that mess cleaned up.
Yeah , High fines and jail time sounds great .I live in unincorporated Sonoma County.Beautiful scenic roads through vineyards, orchards and pastureland...'til you round a corner and see a couch, pile of tires, tree limbs,5 gal buckets of used oil , giant flat screen TV's. Maybe if you're lucky a water heater, fridge or an old beat-up camper shell. These people are ignorant slobs that can't handle the responsibility to do the right thing . They could give AF about what or where they dump. Their idea of "paying it forward" is to have someone else clean up their ship.
If the owner actually rented out the truck then whatever fine he got should go back to the person who rented the vehicle.
The owner was shocked. When asked for comment, he said, "We don't condone that in any way! I always tell my employees to cover our logo before they do ... er.. I mean we rented it out that weekend... Yeah, that's the ticket..."
Why would the employee choose to break the law when the only one that profits from this is the company owner? My guess is that the employee will be vilified by the company as though it was the employees idea to dump it at the park.
You can see that the driver of the truck is wearing a vest with the same logo as the company -- IOW's, the driver is an employee of the company!

They do it here in Hayward,CA too. Off industrial ave and winton ave .
These Companies should Definitely be held accountable. They hire the drivers, tell them to make the junk go away and don't bring it back. You can bet if there was accountability, they would be registered as frequent violators, who see Oakland as a "go to" dumpsite, and with the gentleman filming the act, got caught this time. Years ago, public dumps were accessible to all, and the problem wasn't as prevalent, as now. Fees to dump have gone crazy high, that's if what you're dumping qualifies for that particular dumpsite. How about those billion some odd gallons of toxic liquid substances (including raw sewage) that got dumped into San Francisco bay and surrounding waterways last week. Think about how tough it was to determine how much, and for how long that has been going on, and more importantly, who cleans up that toxic mess, as it makes its way into your ground water table .
broken window phenomenon.
Dumping charges is outrageous
