When you talked about how Buck is the best companion and how he has such a big heart I just burst into tears. I hope your doing well Jim. Thank you for another great video.
Mike Samuel Buck passed away a few months ago from complications from surgery... Imo that’s what makes this series SOOO GOOD; seeing Buckaroo in his element.
What an absolutely amazing journey ! This is the best ever channel, adventure journey, on the whole f... ing YT, internet, whatever. Buck is king of heaven right now, watching his adventures from up there with all his buddies around a heavenly fire. What a trooper ! Hip hip hurray for Buck ! Breathtaking, spectacular, scenery of stunning beauty. Thanks so much for sharing this out-of-the-ordinary expedition and exploration of the land and yourself, pushing your limits.
Theirs one awesome thing about this, l know that you and Buck survived. I almost stopped watching because Buck isn’t here anymore. Loved the video Jim! 💯💯💯👍👍👍
Oh my goodness. I got so caught up in this. I cried for Buck and was cheering you when you went down to hill to help him carry his load up. Then I cried some more. Great survival skills and what an amazing companion. Truly is a man's best friend.
Hats off to Buck and yourself hes up there in years .A good dog is truly mans best friend they will never let you down.Hes waiting for you on the other side RIP BUCK
I believe you & Buck had an Angel out there watching over you both. Couldn't believe how strong & courageous you both are, & live to talk about it! You 2 were blessed with each other. I believe I can understand the poem "footprints in the sand" should have been Footprints & pawprints in the Snow". There may not ever be another one like him, but there will be another one with equal devotion & love waiting for you. I'm sorry for your loss. Thank you for this video. It's beautiful & scary at the same time. I've never seen anything like it.
So sorry for your loss. Buck was as loyal as they come. He proved that time and time again. God bless you and your adorable Family! P.S. I enjoy all of your adventures. It’s my favorite channel. It motivates me to go out hiking with my dogs.
That’s great that it helps motivate you. Thanks so much for watching and commenting too. Ya, it was crushing to loose Buck. He was such a part of us. It’s been a while now and we plan to get a new dog later this year.
Man that sucks about Buck just watching this and saw the other comments 😕. I I've lost two in my life, horrible losses. I hope to never be in a situation like yours but that was the most authentic film making I've ever seen. Unlike on shows like life below zero, you know there's no one else to help. Gripping TV, been watching all the episodes today
Man and Dog, as one. What an adventure Jim ! I feel so guilty watching from my warm couch. Loves it ! Buck was awesome, stoic, steady, what a champ man.
You helping him up that hill. That is pure love. In your eyes and in his. That to him is, "Daddy lives me." All day. Made me think of my dog :( Omg what a good boy in that storm
Jim I am Impressed with your way to manage that uninhabitable Land. and Buck is a trooper I can see why Buck goes with you to all places. he is not only an awesome Dog but he carries his weight. what a Dog what a friend.
Tip; Jim in heavy winds leave your snow anchors in and remove the inside poles first from the inside so the wind grab the tent and damage or bend them because that's what I saw in your video when you're taking down the tent. Use trekking pole to give you some height. I hope this helps.
This episode, more than any other makes me think of this quote from Neil Peart: "The best part of adventure travel, it seems to me, is thinking about it. A journey to a remote place is exciting to look forward to, certainly rewarding to look back upon. But not always pleasurable to live minute by minute. Reality has a tendency to be so uncomfortably real. But, that's the price of admission - you have to do it."
Hi Jim! I knew this was going to be hard to watch but I didn't realize just how hard it would be. I cried through 90 percent of it. I just can't imagine how hard it's been for you. You are one strong guy...mentally and physically! Thank you for making these videos for all your subs. R.I.P..."Good boy Buck"😥
dude this video is unreal, you literally should have and will have over 2.28 million subs soon this footage is unreal, the content is legit as they come and damn it made me nervous even to see how intense it was. Idk how you kept your cameras going to capture this, Great job be safe out there man.
Primates are not designed for that climate but husky and malamute type dogs sure are. Buck was completely content and warm (and sharply dressed as well!). My cat is fascinated watching Buck on my 75" TV. Great video. Hard work.
This is my first time to your channel and its' awesome. Buck is a great name and I've had a Buck of my own, best dog I've ever had RIP Bucky. Great channel!!
I really am enjoying this series immensely. Very impressed by your stamina but the prize must go to Buck for just laying out snoozing, covered in snow as if he was curled up in front of the fire.
Phenomenal series Jim! We stumbled upon you channel only recently and have watched all your videos now. We really appreciate your adventures and love Buck! We were so sorry to here of his passing. Excited for the next series!!
Big Jim I am never less than anything but amazed at the achievements of you and Buck. What a team. He is so there for you and you for him. You know its getting gnarly when you can get excited for "vegetarian chili". Got you and the Buckmeister over the hump so I guess it's got that going for it.
In the last episode I left a comment asking how you put your tent up in a gale. Now I know. That whole day looked absolutely terrifying to me and I consider myself pretty adventurous. Like you said no margin for error. I like what you said about Buck at the end. He really pulled his own weight and showed a lot of patience.
I can't help but think watching this has helped you with your grief over losing Buck . He is a beautiful dog and I know the pain of losing one. Great series bud ....
the most amazing feat of Buck + 1 endurance I have ever seen, Thank you so very much for sharing this . . . what an amazing and most wonderful 55 minutes of film...… I cannot fully comprehend such an undertaking as this , I have never experienced these extreme conditions . and to film it....!!! I am dumbstruck... , Thank you Buck and Jim Baird. .Truly outstanding achievements...
I am really glad you did this trip as it is out of my comfort level. i love the look on Bucks face as he watches you trek thru the tundra. I pray your next dog brings you as much joy. Keep your paddle in the water.
I have totally loved this series, and I can hardly wait for your next upload, I am a subscriber and I shared this playlist on my Facebook, you deserve way more subscribers!
How the heck did you even know where you were going. The mountains all look the same. Just amazing job both of you’s. Cannot imagine all the retraces getting the camera. Awesome job, keep the videos coming.
Thanks a lot and ya, it was a lot of work doing those walk-away shots! The mountains are on either side of a valley so they kind of guide your general direction l.
Wow 6 days to go and the last hot chock that's ruff bro :-) Buck was looking great, nice jacket he had on. Interesting point you made while building the wall, if you don't get the tent up it's not just a cold night it's the big Fullstop, great video bro :) thanks for the searies
Loved the video Jim you must be so proud of Buck I know I am what an awesome companion you and your family had Buck will always be remembered for the good-natured dog he was sorry I just can't say enough about Buck🐾🐾 🐾RIP Buck🐾 can't wait for the next video it's so nice to know you have these amazing Adventures of you & Buck🐾👏🐾 CHEERS🍻
What an amazing adventure, Jim! Most would have given up a long time ago! But you and Buck stuck it out this far and having watched your video where you are talking to that crowd of people I know that you and Buck made it! You are an ADVENTURER!
Geez wayne - very very noisey where you are? no gloves man really? Where's your dog hope he is good. He is gorgeous obviously loves the environment but looking tired towing that buggy behind. Just love your most trusted companion - too beautiful.
OMG, That sound........ Holy Moley. What a challenging trek thru the wind and cold. Poor buck was buried in the blowing snow. The Igloo snow wall was a good idea. Oh man, now I am crying about Buck. Such a great dog. You treated him so well and loved him dearly. I miss seeing him in the present. Hope you can find another dog. You and Joe Robinet have a grief in common.
Awesome job of capturing the feeling and emotions of being on this trip. Buck was a star for sure ... Take care, safe travels and I look forward to watching the final videos of this adventure.
Hey man, saw ya on Alexis Outdoors collaboration and watched you guys on Alone, your channels are putting out some serious content just wanted to say hi from the Catskill mountains of New York. Your channel is filled with my type of content man really legit stuff Im loving it. I left my careers for the last 2.5 years and just traveled all over north america and my channel is a filming of that, but really respect what your doing here, this is the type of content that puts you to the test and makes you realize we are only human. Well done keep at it.
Wow this looks like so much fun! I want to go to the Arctic and walk all day lugging gear against the wind blowing in my face taking my breath away and spend my evening shoveling snow and then go to sleep still being able to see my breath. Yeah that would be awesome!! Or not. Much respect to you for doing this!
I just finished all the videos for this series today and if something happened to your stove out there you would be screwed, didn't look like any wood out there.
Definitely no wood! The biggest issue with the stove breaking would have been melting drinking water. If I could travel slow enough so that I don’t sweat at all the stove wouldn’t be needed to help dry cloths and I could keep one pair totally dry for sleeping in which I do anyways. I could eat my food without re-hydrating it if I had to too. So, I suppose if my stove broke, id have to figure out a way to use my fuel to melt show or ice and you can also pack snow into water bottles and keep it in your sleeping bag at night and it will melt. It would be tough to keep up with the demand for water though and I’d likely get dehydrated.
Mount Asgard? also I noticed there's a mount Odin and Mount Thor around there too because I followed you on Google Earth but what I wanted to say was this is the most inspirational video I've ever seen in my life hats off to you and all the songs that you sing. I love you, and buck.. and your red haired head! I'm not done with this video so I don't know if you even live but this episode and was the best episode in UA-cam history. thank you Conan obrian ,from Ron in Minnesota.
This may be my best comment ever, thanks!! Ya it’s Mount Asgard. It means Asgard is the “realm of the gods” in Norse mythology. Thor I pass later on this trip, it’s unreal and busts the largest vertical drop in the world.
Wow, that was intense, it doesn't get anymore real that that, one mistake and your done! You did an excellent job with the camera while constructing the wall. Such a forbidding and beautiful place while showing it's true winter colors. Excellent vid, just excellent.
Great video Jim, and what a wonderful dog. The snow blocks need to be more interlaced to increase wall strength. The sleds need to have some one way resistance clips attatched, so when it slinding backward down the hill the clip open up and act as an anchor. The sleds also need resistance clips attached (like a small drag at the back of a sled), where you can adjust the resistance depend on the hill slope so the sled don't slide in front of you. I just came up with those, I don't know if they're already available or not. If not, I am sure you can make them.
Thanks a lot for watching everyone! Please like this video and subscribe to my channel for more.
Liked it? I wish there was a button to click for " loved it"!
Another brilliant episode! I hope you are going ok editing all of these. Buck is with you in spirit 🐺
I love all of your video presentations.
Coffee I will for sure. There should be maybe three episodes left to edit from this adventure or more
Jimmy Carter thanks very much!
I cannot even imagine how you can travel in those conditions, and yet film under those conditions, extremely well done video
Fran Rautiola thanks a lot
You must miss Buck so much, but its gotta be nice to have these filmed memories to look back on. So much better than a picture in a photo album :)
🐺
When you talked about how Buck is the best companion and how he has such a big heart I just burst into tears. I hope your doing well Jim. Thank you for another great video.
Thanks a lot for sharing that. I’m doing pretty well for sure
Ya know, Buck was very fortunate to have had Jim.
BUCK was the ultimate TROOPER! what a soul he had! RIP Buck!

Check out Justin Barbour, defiantly my favorite
Brutal and hard core. What an amazing adventure in such a hostile environment. Buck was so amazing. Photography was so professional. Great job Jim
Tough conditions is an understatement. Satisfying to see buck snoring with a hot drink in your hand.

Man that sucks about Buck just watching this and saw the other comments 😕. I I've lost two in my life, horrible losses. Best filming I've ever watched
I feel for Buck, he's probably thinking what is my crazy human daddy thinking! I don't want to go anywhere!

OMFG. I got cold just watching this.
Great tribute to Buck. He was a HUGE asset on this journey.
Indeed he was, thanks a lot for watching!
Made me think of my dog :(
Omg what a good boy in that storm
Thanks very much 🙂
That was incredible. Good thing you're 51% machine and 49% Canadian. The snow block wall was really neat.
Thanks! That wall and spot I found was a life saver
Jim I am Impressed with your way to manage that uninhabitable Land. and Buck is a trooper I can see why Buck goes with you to all places. he is not only an awesome Dog but he carries his weight. what a Dog what a friend.

whoa! that was an intense chapter; looking forward to the next one
Thanks a lot and yes...That was a very intense chapter!
This episode, more than any other makes me think of this quote from Neil Peart:

But not always pleasurable to live minute by minute. Reality has a tendency to be so uncomfortably real. But, that's the price of admission - you have to do it."
That’s kind of a more rounded out explanation on what I say sometimes...”it’s fun afterwards”
all the snorring.. soo cute
It has been for sure. Thanks a lot for watching despite the sadness

What an amazing adventure, Jim! Most would have given up a long time ago! But you and Buck stuck it out this far and having watched your video where you are talking to that crowd of people I know that you and Buck made it! You are an ADVENTURER!
Thanks a lot! It did take some determination at times.

All I can say about that episode is "WOW" !!!! LG NB
Great video Jim!
Thanks!
Excellent video
Thanks!
This episode was wicked stressful Jim! Was relieved to see you and Buck get in your tent!
Watching this on a hot summer day in ac had to make some hot coffee the video is making me chilly
Haha, glad I could help cool you down.
I just finished all the videos for this series today and if something happened to your stove out there you would be screwed, didn't look like any wood out there.
