Vinnie Paul definitely deserves one, some of the most distinct grooves in all of metal

"Revolutionized"... nah, they created a completely original, new style of metal that no other band has ever been able to replicate. Like Rage Against The Machine or Tool, they cannot be categorized to a certain genre.

Lombardo's performance on Angel death is insane all limbs move different beats, true talent on the double drums. Vinnie Paul(RIP) another mega talent on double drums surely missed, but not forgotten.
Behind the Crooked Cross is such an awesome song. One of my favorite Lombardo grooves. The drum fills on that song are so tight and precise.

U have a similar playing style to Josh Freese. Very clean my friend, good job and great representation of the master Dave Lombardo. A man who has THE influence on hard/heavy drumming as we know it today. A lot of phenomenal drummers that have taken it to another level, but Dave is still the man.
This is ridiculously sick! Love your style dude. No yakking or showing off, just letting the music 🎶 do the talking.
I come back to this video occasionally as you get it - Lombardo has technical superiors in his craft but no one else comes close to his originality & passion, his branching out into the world of music away from metal has made him a multi talented monster. Never underestimate your brilliance, Josh - you share Dave’s passion, skill & your covers are more than just karaoke versions of songs you like - you make them your own. All the best, be safe!

As a teenager I used to air drum to a lot of these tracks.
Great to see them actually played now. In my head I was effectively doing what you were doing so well here.
But in reality, I was a spotty teenager with bad hair sitting on his bed and flailing his arms around to metal.
My left hand hurts just hearing how cranked that snare is. I tried using a kevlar head with some synthetic sticks at one time for a few weeks. The snare sounded like that. Great job.

Ahh one of the funniest moments in war ensemble is when he hits like the tiniest cymbol in his set after a series of fills. Missed opportunity. Good stuff overall.

Sir Babz I have to agree. While I love Paul as a drummer, he really isn't the best fit for Slayer. I've seen him speed up the slow parts (e. g. The intro to Seasons in the Abyss, Hell Awaits and South of Heaven to name a few) and slow down the fast parts, or play them sloppily.
Sir Babz since you took the time out of your busy day to needlessly dis Paul please allow me to return the favor. Do you play the drums? If so where can I hear your work? Where’s your next gig because I’d love to come and check you out. If you didn’t answer yes to all three questions above then shut your hole because the thousands of happy customers at Slayer’s farewell tour couldn’t give a shit what you think.
I firmly believe Devine Intervention is slayers finest record. Mostly for the reason that Paul cured the monotony that was Dave Lombardos one track thrash mind. With that said, I do believe Dave is an extremely solid drummer but it was nice to hear a different take on that style. Now Diablos In Musica?!?! Fuck that.
