He was ordered by the Captain to not create drama after suddenly being installed as commander (lt) of a squad at the beginning of the game. Titus also operates under the assumption that the Astartes disavowed him (actually not the case). Keep in mind Titus only just began working with gadriel and chairon.
That's actually the problem with Titus, people were glazing him for being a complete badass but he also has an issue with opening up to people and excepts them to do as they are told despite him leading by example. It's kinda the same thing that led to the Horus Heresy and to the Imperium ending up in ruin.

If they would think it's not within their jurisdiction, they'd forward Titus to Chaplain. Although Leandros didn't follow protocol on this (ironic) the fact that they agreed to take care of this shows that Leandros was not completelly wrong (either that, or both Leandros and Inquisition miscalculated the situation heavily... which is unlikely considering how competent Inquisition usually is).

He is dead now but it does not change that Leandros basically handed Titus to a Heretic who was a Inquisitor. Leandros action is still in question because now for me anyways, there is suspicion that Leandros is maybe being manipulated by Chaos using his dogmatic beliefs for the codex.

The last time Titus confided in one of his brothers he was sentenced to a century of penance with the Deathwatch for a false accusation of heresy. Titus is naturally very wary of divulging personal information since then. The entire point of the game, and the point of Gadriel’s entire character, is Titus learning to trust in his brothers again. He literally says at the end of the game “you have restored my faith in brotherhood”. Pretty easy to understand.
The thing is, Titus feel responsible if in the future his subordinates got tainted because of his ability to resist warp power. The Inquisitor broke him in every way.

Service in the deathwatch wasn't his punishment. He was subjected years of torture and stasis imprisonment. The inquisitor that held him turned out to be possessed, so when the gray knights found out and killed him they found Titus and other prisoned marines in stasis. Titus just ended up with the deathwatch since he still felt guilty for bringing shame on the chapter.

Deathwatch is a very elite force that takes members from any chapter that proves worthy, so I doubt they'd accept receiving astartes that are being punished. Plus, serving in the Deathwatch is a high honor when space marines return to their chapter, meaning the Ultramarines would've find Titus sooner had they'd known, and Titus wouldn't have been so ashamed that he became a black shield.
A black shield deathwatch astartes is a penitent astartes, but they never join as a punishment, joining the deathwatch is actually one of the highest honors they can aim in their lives. Adding to this, Calgar did try to recover Titus to the Ultramarine chapter, but chances are Titus felt guilty for mudding the name of the chapter, plus failing to keep Leandros in check, so it took him getting mortal wounds, plus the chaplain pretty much forcing the issue making him primaris to get him to rejoin the chapter for good (normally they would not be able to force him)

This is obviously on a Warhammer scope of machismo, but this is how guy friends should fight. You have a brief, maybe somewhat aggressive spat, but at the end of it you recognize that you'd go to hell for and with your buds, and that you can both relate to each others flaws. Literally better and healthier story telling than most mainstream moves in a decade.
This is why I think the whole game should have been with Titus in the watch. They do special side missions apart from the main force, plus killteams are versatile in weapons and equipment, including the use of xenos tech.
Fun fact: the reason why Titus couldn't be captain of the 2nd company anymore is not because of his time as a black shield but because try to guess who was actually captain of the 2nd company a hundred years back lore wise ? just a simple guy named *CATO SICARIUS* so making Titus a lieutenant was the developers' way of complying with the lore. As for Acheran ? he is the lore accurate current captain of the 2nd company given that Sicarius was lost in the warp for a while and is currently fighting alongside papa smurf Guilliman himself so until he probably comes back to his company, Acheran is keeping the seat warm.
Not really. The Ultramarines are a "Jack of all trades". Sure, the Raven Guard may be better at stealth. The Imperial Fists may be better a besieging. The White Scars may be better at maneuvering. And the Blood Angels may be better at assaulting. But the Ultramarines, while perhaps best at nothing (except logistics) are the second best AT EVERYTHING! And they always have a plan B. That is why they are the poster-boys for the entire franchise!
Titus' loyalty is to the Emperor, his Chapter and Brothers. I don't blame him for being hesitant in devolging the details of his Deathwatch service. The 2nd Company Captain and the Chaplain regard Titus with some level of hostility or suspicion on him being brought back to the Chapter.

Now this was "resolved" be making Cato the commander of the Victrix Guard and "demoting" Titus to a Lt.

I wish there is an option to put/keep your helmets on during the game and the dialogue lines could sound like they're coming through the vox. Astartes looks so much cooler with the helmets.

Haven't played it, but is there an explaination of why Big Balls Titus is imune to Chaos corruption since the 1st game? Is he maybe an avatar to a possibly returning Emperor?
There is not really an explanation. However at the end we hear a voice saying "rise son of guilliman" that sounds as if spoken next to titus, or in his head, and the subtitles indicate its calgars voice. However, that voice is deeper than calgars, and calgar is shown as walking towards titus from far away and then speaking something else. People speculate that it may be the emperor that is giving titus the power to resist the warp.

I am bit confused on timeline. They say he was captain 100 years ago. But they also say he was in Deathwatch for almost a century. Wasn't he in inquisition custody stasis for a century and then almost a century in Deathwatch?
The first Warhammer game I played, I was actually shocked by the poor leadership of Titus and the pretty terrible bond these three had through most of the game. I know they turned it around in the end, but it could have been done so much better IMO And considering how much time Titus lost due to the last accusation against him you'd think he'd be forthcoming a lot sooner
Leandros paranoia was justified. This is 40k universe, corruption is everywhere and paranoia is necessary to a point. Titus was exposed to powerful chaos artifacts and had minimal effect in him without explanation. In a universe where primarchs can be corrupted by chaos Why not a normal space marine? I think this measure who prey in one loyal Astarte probably save incontable others from be double cross by agents of Chaos. The love for the character Titus cannot blind to this grimdark situation, he says "I'm loyal and I rather die than be a traitor" who is exactly a traitor will say before blew up his chapter headquarters. I like the Leandro's character it's perfectly fitting the setting.
He was not wrong for suspecting Titus. He was wrong because he reported him to the Inquisition, knowing perfectly well how they handle even just minor rumors of heresy. He should have called the High Command of the Ultramarines instead, so the Chaplains and Librarians would take care of the issue.
The suspicion was correct especially with how flippant Titus was about it, what was wrong was jumping the chain of command… instead of allowing the ultramarines to deal with the issue in house he brought the eye of the inquisition down on the ultramarines, if he had been found guilty the entire second company could have been implicated and culled, if not the whole chapter (especially if the chapter master defended him like he did). Even being innocent Titus had to become a black shield so that the suspicion surrounding him didn’t tarnish the ultramarine’s reputation

funny enough i think the codex actually says to refer to stuff like this internally rather than having someone external like the inquisition get involved first. So leandros actually went against the codex by turning over titus to the inquisition.
Considering that a Grey Knight aspirant has to be a psyker to begin with, and they have their own specialised gene-seed that has to be implanted in the youth to become Knight...no. Plus he wouldn't be Titus any more - during their implantation, the Knight's mind is completely scrubbed of all memories, and he is given a new name specially crafted to be an anti-daemon weapon.

Grey Knights are INCREDIBLY secretive and hidden from the sight of the greater Imperium, like Calgar is likely the only one who knows of their existence in the whole of the Ultramarines, if he even does know that at all. That's right, the Grey Knights are so secretive that the Chapter Master of the Ultramarines, a first founding chapter, who has one of two active primarchs in the Imperium and is probably the 2nd most important Chapter Master in existence (behind Dante of the Blood Angels) probably doesn't know they exist officially.

This ending for first game was stupid and lore breaking. When space wolves say no to killing guardsmen in first Armageddon war, inquisition was forced to accept their will and kill this guardsmen by exterminating their worlds, because they couldn't do it while astartes were present. Inquisition is very powerful in the imperium, but that power has it limits

This is obviously on a Warhammer scope of machismo, but this is how guy friends should fight. You have a brief, maybe somewhat aggressive spat, but at the end of it you recognize that you'd go to hell for and with your buds, and that you can both relate to each others flaws. Literally better and healthier story telling than most mainstream moves in a decade.

This is why I think the whole game should have been with Titus in the watch. They do special side missions apart from the main force, plus killteams are versatile in weapons and equipment, including the use of xenos tech.

I like how he gets exposed to pure warp energy that is almost guaranteed to corrupt you, and survives just fine, just to be accused of corruption.
Fun fact: the reason why Titus couldn't be captain of the 2nd company anymore is not because of his time as a black shield but because try to guess who was actually captain of the 2nd company a hundred years back lore wise ? just a simple guy named *CATO SICARIUS* so making Titus a lieutenant was the developers' way of complying with the lore.
As for Acheran ? he is the lore accurate current captain of the 2nd company given that Sicarius was lost in the warp for a while and is currently fighting alongside papa smurf Guilliman himself so until he probably comes back to his company, Acheran is keeping the seat warm.
Acheran is keeping the seat, Cato Sicarius is in command of the Victrix Guard. Meaning, Cato will be with Guilliman wherever he goes from now on.
Cato is now the bodyguard of Guilliman, so Acheran can still keep the rank... unless Titus climbs back to the rank.
As a Victrix Guard Cato Sicarius exists outside of the Ultramarines command structure. He is to Guilliman as the Custodes are to the Emperor

Not really. The Ultramarines are a "Jack of all trades". Sure, the Raven Guard may be better at stealth. The Imperial Fists may be better a besieging. The White Scars may be better at maneuvering. And the Blood Angels may be better at assaulting.
But the Ultramarines, while perhaps best at nothing (except logistics) are the second best AT EVERYTHING!
And they always have a plan B.
That is why they are the poster-boys for the entire franchise!

Titus' loyalty is to the Emperor, his Chapter and Brothers. I don't blame him for being hesitant in devolging the details of his Deathwatch service. The 2nd Company Captain and the Chaplain regard Titus with some level of hostility or suspicion on him being brought back to the Chapter.
Well the chaplains job is to be suspicious but as for the captain I think he wasn't a fan of someone he never heard of being put in his command without his say so
@@wintertrooper7918 Captain Acheran's issue is more likely to be that not only has Cato Sicarius, who was captain of 2nd company before Acheran, returned to the Ultramarines in recent years, but also Demetrain Titus who was Captain before Cato. So for Acheran this is kind of a how the hell am I going to keep my job when both my predecessors are still around lol. Now this was "resolved" be making Cato the commander of the Victrix Guard and "demoting" Titus to a Lt.

Haven't played it, but is there an explaination of why Big Balls Titus is imune to Chaos corruption since the 1st game?

There is not really an explanation. However at the end we hear a voice saying "rise son of guilliman" that sounds as if spoken next to titus, or in his head, and the subtitles indicate its calgars voice. However, that voice is deeper than calgars, and calgar is shown as walking towards titus from far away and then speaking something else. People speculate that it may be the emperor that is giving titus the power to resist the warp.

@@wintertrooper7918 To be honest its probably just the emperor shielding Titus from the worst of the psychic backlash of the crystal. Shielding a space marine is relatively easier effort than the usual living saint business of evaporating entire demon hordes while glowing like the sun.
Best example of empowerment is probably Makari, they aren't empowered in any physical way, but the waagh! ensures they live on.

The first Warhammer game I played, I was actually shocked by the poor leadership of Titus and the pretty terrible bond these three had through most of the game. I know they turned it around in the end, but it could have been done so much better IMO
And considering how much time Titus lost due to the last accusation against him you'd think he'd be forthcoming a lot sooner
Leandros paranoia was justified. This is 40k universe, corruption is everywhere and paranoia is necessary to a point. Titus was exposed to powerful chaos artifacts and had minimal effect in him without explanation. In a universe where primarchs can be corrupted by chaos Why not a normal space marine? I think this measure who prey in one loyal Astarte probably save incontable others from be double cross by agents of Chaos. The love for the character Titus cannot blind to this grimdark situation, he says "I'm loyal and I rather die than be a traitor" who is exactly a traitor will say before blew up his chapter headquarters. I like the Leandro's character it's perfectly fitting the setting.
He was not wrong for suspecting Titus. He was wrong because he reported him to the Inquisition, knowing perfectly well how they handle even just minor rumors of heresy. He should have called the High Command of the Ultramarines instead, so the Chaplains and Librarians would take care of the issue.
The suspicion was correct especially with how flippant Titus was about it, what was wrong was jumping the chain of command… instead of allowing the ultramarines to deal with the issue in house he brought the eye of the inquisition down on the ultramarines, if he had been found guilty the entire second company could have been implicated and culled, if not the whole chapter (especially if the chapter master defended him like he did). Even being innocent Titus had to become a black shield so that the suspicion surrounding him didn’t tarnish the ultramarine’s reputation
@@Swampert919 Man, serving as a Black Shield is an absolute humilliation to Titus. While serving the Deathwatch is one of the highest honours to an Astartes and his chapter, a Black Shield is the complete opposite. The lowest of the low, disposable, and unworthy of his heraldry.

Considering that a Grey Knight aspirant has to be a psyker to begin with, and they have their own specialised gene-seed that has to be implanted in the youth to become Knight...no.
Plus he wouldn't be Titus any more - during their implantation, the Knight's mind is completely scrubbed of all memories, and he is given a new name specially crafted to be an anti-daemon weapon.

Titus doesn't fit the mold of a Grey Knight, but if he did he'd never be seen by his brothers again. Grey Knights are INCREDIBLY secretive and hidden from the sight of the greater Imperium, like Calgar is likely the only one who knows of their existence in the whole of the Ultramarines, if he even does know that at all. That's right, the Grey Knights are so secretive that the Chapter Master of the Ultramarines, a first founding chapter, who has one of two active primarchs in the Imperium and is probably the 2nd most important Chapter Master in existence (behind Dante of the Blood Angels) probably doesn't know they exist officially.
