I like how the appearance of the Deathwatch armor how they have their spare ammo, grenades and other ordnance attached. Gives the look of "packing all the right tools' for a bug hunt.
DW are the spec ops of the Astartes, and their loadout reflects accordingly. That being said, I have seen pictures in Imperial Armour of regular Astartes wearing over-armour webbing and other rigs for gear. The lore can be a bit inconsistent, but tends to follow rule-of-cool over practicality more often than not. Which is unfortunate, because practical can be very cool indeed.

What people do seem to underplay here isnt the time itself. It was a hundred years filled with battles on propably some of the most dangerous missions the deathwatch can get. Propably 0,1 -2% of that time was spent outside of battle.

You are over reacting, serfs would not be executed for such, at least not those of most Loyalist Chapters. Often surface 'visual' level battle damage is specifically kept after repairs, as a visual form of campaign marking or iff the marine (or parts of a salvaged suit) were involved in a meritus action of valour..
But we are talking about the Ultramarines. If given a banged up set in the current era while not in an extinction level event, the marine would definitely be insulted and would remedy the armour as soon as possible. @razor1uk610

Not with normal armor. All tech marines can build those themselves. Hell, in chapter like Salamander, normal battle brothers can build their own armor. The lost techs are things like Terminator and Dreadnought And primaries armor is assuredly not a lost tech as it is the new standard for SM. But likely that armor came from a dead primaris.

Too much plot armor in 40k. So in the future theres these super soldiers with ceramite armor thats basically harder than steel but a claw from a giant plotanyd just goes through front and end, without any significant cynetic motion just because...why? do you understand how harder that claw needs to be to do that? how sharp? what force is needed to push through?
That Carnifex is literally evolved to do exactly that. It's the original tank buster for Tyrinds. To put it in perspective, it's Strength 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. But yes Plot armor is very much a thing in 40k. Death has become merely an inconvenience for even common folk at times.

So in the future theres these super soldiers with ceramite armor thats basically harder than steel but a claw from a giant plotanyd just goes through front and end, without any significant cynetic motion just because...why? do you understand how harder that claw needs to be to do that? how sharp? what force is needed to push through?
That Carnifex is literally evolved to do exactly that. It's the original tank buster for Tyrinds.

@@tedlu8605the inquisitor put him in stasis for suspected chaos corruption, the inquisitor was later executed for being chaos corrupted himself and all marines under his control were freed and Titus chose to join the deathwatch as a blackshield
