I feel like kickers should simply be used to create a thump in your music and thats it. They aren't very good at lows and tend to hit way to hard on the highs. And that's even after tuning your system and setting the gains. They aren't bad speakers but me personally I wouldn't use them for deep bass applications. Kicker as the name implies. It gives a good thump but that's about it.

if you have an amp thats less watts then what the subs put out then it doesnt take long for an amp to overheat. also, you have to take into account where you put the amp (air circulation). make sure you put the amp somewhere where there is air circulation. and for the kicker comps since they are single voice coil and since they come in single 8 ohm and 4 ohm what amp you get depends on the configuration you wired you subs at

I will be seeing these DD Drives and buying Kenwoods and a Amp that will push the woofer without overpowering it!
Lot's of people are saying it sounds crappy. You're forgetting that the microphone works the same way speakers do. Those subs are putting up a freq that his mic can't pick up well so it sounds distorted on our end. Kickers do sound good though. But if you build the system wrong, they will distort.

Ive gotten many comments on these subs at car meets and when I pop the trunk they are amazed. I also have 1000 watts (kenwood amp) powering them.
Ya I went to get these at best buy but they were deleted ( don't sell them no more ) and bought a alpine type s 12 inch sub for $150 and I personally think they sound a lot better than these two
I've had kicker and they didn't sound bad cause I had jl 100/1 amps running to my subs. kicker is a real bass heavy speaker vs JL audio which I had too. it just depends on the music you like to listen to.

I Have The Same 12" Kicker Subs On A 32" Dual Box On My Lincoln LS . Im Pushing 1000 Watts On A Crunch Amp & It Is Crazy Loud. Makes Everything Vibrate & Flex . Moves My Mirrors Out Of Place All The Time Too
I have the same case and same subs. Its kicker with 150rms 300w. i run them both on a 400rms Lanzar Amp. The amp is from the 90's but a dude told me these amps were amazing back then and was known to be of high quality. i wounder if i get a new amp, with todays technology, if i would hear a big difference on these subs. I am starting to get tired of the current setup and want to move more air around in my car if you know what i mean.
U do realize no one can hear it the way u do I mean it could be the best setup ever and we will all hear it the same! The quality of ur recording device! Anyways not a bad setup for a high school level install or budget! Nice ride!
JL is probably the best "starter" brand you can get, whereas die hard bassheads and people who go to competitions will get Sundown, SoundStream, DC, etc. At the same time though, both JL and Kicker have some amazing high tier woofers themselves like the W7s, Solo L7s or Solo Xs
I had a 15" Kicker Comp CVR Sub hooked to a 450 Watt RMS Amp and it sounded awesome! Loud enough to ruin my hearing. I don't know why you would connect two amps to one speaker. If you go to the kicker web site and look at the product manual, a Kicker 15" Comp CVR Sub is rated for a maximum of 500 watts RMS and 1000 watts peak. If you connect the 1800 watt kenwood to a 2ohm load you can run two speakers at 900 watts RMS. Boom, Bada, Boom!
I have 2 comp 12s in a gigantic sealed box on an old school 50 watt amp bridged at 4 ohms making 340 watts and it hits 113.6 in my car. I bet it would be louder if it were ported but I like the quality and versatility of a sealed box cuz I listen to all types of music. if you know what youre doing you can get kickers to hammer.
Thinking about buying something like this for my little brothers first setup. They are the grey Comps (not yellow). They come pre-loaded. Only 800 watts rms though. Still thinking about it.
if your looking for a lo-pro system for behind or under seats i would say go with Earthquake they make some of the best lo'profile subs and 2 12's can normally run about 950 watts rms and when your looking for an amp MB Quart, Crunch, and Hifonics, are all good brands that arent extremely expensive definitly go one channel amp and get seperate amps for 10's and 12's and a capacitor so you dont destroy your alternator
just a big shout and thumbs up for kicker. i just pucked up two comp D 15s saturday for my 99 yukon. powered by a gravity 2600.1. prolly catch shit for sayin that. but it was a budget build and thats how it panned out. lol. anyways. love thise kickers boy!!!
That truck is sick but the only thing I would have done differently is to put those subs in a triangle enclosure on both sides..sucks that you don't have it anymore
@Texas Smoke... From my experience, i absolutely hate ported boxes. My first box i got was ported, and i ended up plugging it and it sounded sooo much better. Ported boxes are not for low bass. They are louder in the higher bass, but if i were you, i would either get a sealed box, or try and plug yours if you are looking to not spend anything. I guarantee you they will hit harder if its sealed
Depends on the set up, What vehicle and what Subs are being used. Some subs require a sealed box, others ported.... Kickers do "hit" harder in a sealed box but you don't get as much bass cause there suppose to be in a ported box. I have 4-15 in a Dodge ram in a sealed box and I cant set in my truck with it up all the way....
The box is EVERYTHING.. True potentiol comes with proper airspace, a tuned and ported box. Seriously. Hitting lows requires perfection you
my friend has a pioneer 10” competition sub on a closed box that’s 4 times the specs and it’s tuned around 32hz lmfao, it doesn’t require perfection

I had that same kenwood radio with 2 10inch kickers. Best speakers out there in my opinion!
Just got 2 of them 2 can't wait to get them
I was thinking also soloberics but now I know the competition is the way to go with kicker it looks like the only need a small MySpace and thank today you my friend gives good idea
Dope system man... I just got 2 12" Kicker Comps in my 92' Toyota Tacoma pick up and they go hard!
I Have The Same 12" Kicker Subs On A 32" Dual Box On My Lincoln LS . Im Pushing 1000 Watts On A Crunch Amp & It Is Crazy Loud. Makes Everything Vibrate & Flex . Moves My Mirrors Out Of Place All The Time Too
I have literally this exact same system!!
its a sealed enclosure so the bass is more precise, it doesn't "boom" as much as a ported or bandpass enclosure would
I have the same case and same subs.
Nice ride!
good choice in music i thought i was the only one that owned this song lol
JL is probably the best "starter" brand you can get, whereas die hard bassheads and people who go to competitions will get Sundown, SoundStream, DC, etc. At the same time though, both JL and Kicker have some amazing high tier woofers themselves like the W7s, Solo L7s or Solo Xs
How about Comp Vr and Comp R?
Bass is bass as long as you like your setup that’s all that matters
DAMN people are hating hard love your set up half the people hatin aint even got a car nor can they even afford a simple sub lol
Golddust was a banger back in the day
Thinking about buying something like this for my little brothers first setup. They are the grey Comps (not yellow). They come pre-loaded. Only 800 watts rms though.
Still thinking about it.
Sounds clean and pure as shit good job buddy!!!!!
Sick truck and nice set up
if your looking for a lo-pro system for behind or under seats i would say go with Earthquake they make some of the best lo'profile subs and 2 12's can normally run about 950 watts rms and when your looking for an amp MB Quart, Crunch, and Hifonics, are all good brands that arent extremely expensive definitly go one channel amp and get seperate amps for 10's and 12's and a capacitor so you dont destroy your alternator
I love Kickers bro...because I have 3-12s with a 5000 watt amplifier
gotta love that UKF!
You have all that trunk space and all that you have is all. You could easily fit 2 15's back there.
DJ Fresh - Gold Dust (Flux Pavilion Remix) is the song. And nice setup!
just a big shout and thumbs up for kicker. i just pucked up two comp D 15s saturday for my 99 yukon. powered by a gravity 2600.1. prolly catch shit for sayin that. but it was a budget build and thats how it panned out. lol. anyways. love thise kickers boy!!!
2500k kicker amp and top line kicker 12's in Escalade you go bro!
That truck is sick but the only thing I would have done differently is to put those subs in a triangle enclosure on both sides..sucks that you don't have it anymore
I had OG KICKER COMPETITION 12S WITH THE BIG K ON THE CONE IN HIGH SCHOOL 1997
before you all hate on kicker i can assure you with the right set up they can compete with top brands
I thought kicker was the best. What is the loudest subs?
+Ryan lol pioneer
+cj cambell JL Audio is probably the best
+mtndewman923 why isn't any of my car audio stores promoting jl audio then?
+cj cambell because the average person can't afford it
@Texas Smoke...
I have 4-15 in a Dodge ram in a sealed box and I cant set in my truck with it up all the way....
this is how to get major bass keep bassin man
