Those comp q subs sound really good. Too bad you don’t have a more in spec box, that one looks way too big for it, that port too. They can get pretty loud without a ton of power.
i'm pretty sure that could be built to specs, often they recommend/use small boxes at a high (40Hz) tuning frequency assuming that the cars' cabin will "amplify" the even deeper bass enough to where you don't need a huge box and still get decent output under 30Hz, but proper sub boxes are built differently, with a tuning of 20-25Hz and a large port to get rid of port noise at those deep frequencies, because more indepth builders don't wanna rely on cabin acoustics, and just use a dsp in the end to get peaks out that will also improve power handling and overall output at the deepest spectrum.
Haven't ran a system in a vehicle in a over a decade and was thinking of putting one in my car. I was debating on which sub to get and almost ended upbgetting a Sundown but then I saw a video of this sub and I couldn't resist. Not a lot of content on youtube about it but ended up picking up the 2ohm version, a kicker amp and built a custom box. You can run the 4ohm parallel to get 2 ohm. Kicker also make the Comp Q in 2ohm and if you run more than one parallel you will get 1ohm. Soundquebed hdx3 for the money. If the comp qs were priced around the comp r range then comp q for sure. They are just to pricey with the other competitors
Love the comp q. But the round series has all 4 voice coil leads in a row. Confused on how to keep at 2 ohm with regards to hook up. And can you bring them down to 1 or even half ohm when multiple q class are your set up
You can run the 4ohm parallel to get 2 ohm. Kicker also make the Comp Q in 2ohm and if you run more than one parallel you will get 1ohm. I'm looking to get the 2ohm Comp Q and running it with my cxa800.1(1600 watt, 600RMS@2ohm) that I'm currently running with my Comp R 12"(2ohm). All bass heads know, you always want more power and bass💪
Price come down a tad bit made it much more appealing. Also, test videos help convince my wife I need to spend the money so ty!
I have two kicker comp Q in a q boom box they hit hard
Much love homie! Keep up the amazing work!!!!!
Will do I appreciate you!!
