My first system of coarse was the punch 45 and RF 15” sub. My second system was the Hifonics Cyclops (100x1) and a Kicker 15” sub which was so much louder it was unreal! This is before Kicker made amps; we’re talking late 80s/early 90s. During this time Hifonics and Orion was “Dominating” the amplifier game. Kicker has always been the best subs in my opinion and I’ve had so many different subs I tried but ALWAYS went back to the Kicker sub.#Kicker🔊

This is true i had two L7 2ohm dvc subs with a Memphis 1100D an let me tell u wow lol i miss them
i had an L5 w a 1200 watt autotek and it beat the box apart. everyone thought i had a 15 or dbl 12’s. got it at trade it for 70$. 150$ system... best i’ve ever had... miss it so.....lol

Have a single 12" Comp RT overpowered in a sealed box under my rear seats on my F150. Couldn't be happier with the bass quality with my limited space.
I have 2 compVX 10s under the seat of a ext cab Silverado, they set off car alarms across the parking lot. it's all about the box you put them in and clean power.

My favorite kicker sub is the L7 Q class. There is not that big of an improvement over the SPL over the regular L7 but, the bass sound quality the L7 Q class is amazing. I am more of an SQ kind of guy but, SPL is nice too.
My first big setup was two old Kicker comp 12's in a sealed box, taking up 2/3rds of my single cab F150. They rattled things I didn't know could rattle, and survived a miraculously long time for what I did to them. Years later, I got a Kicker 10" in a tiny behind-seat box, and I wasn't happy. No lows, the port was a joke and sounded better sealed off, and died a very anticlimactic death. Haven't touched a Kicker since.
Switched from kicker to digital designs. Far superior bass!!!

I love Kickers. Just hooked up two 10 inch Comp R 400RMS, running on a Kicker 600.1 CX amp and sound great.
from experience the comps,,cvx,,cvr,,L7 are the originals that made kicker what they are and are the ones i would recommend for durability

Just blew my 15 inch Comp from 2010. Its still plays but about 50% reduced volume. It was a good sub taking about 500rms for years only being rated at 250 rms. Will be ordering a Comp VR this go round.
Had 12 L7's when I was younger now I got 10's the best subs ever! Love them. Will always get the squares

@@dirtydantb5911 Yeah, that's when kicker made good stuff. the only thing wrong with them now is the surround is starting to crumble apart. I ran those with a jbl 1201.1 II amp for years. Damn, I still have an old kicker zr1000 laying around somewhere. I was a big kicker fan back in the day. Kicker can be bought at walmart these days, there not the same like they used to.
Some store sold me the comp. I never knew that there was more to the kicker family. I would have gotten a different sub. Thank for the video very information 👍

Running two 15’s CVX in a ported pro box on a T1500bcpd in my Lexus LS430. Even with a crappy pre fab box they sound amazing.
Now do Rockford fosgate
Rockford sounds a lot better and get lower. Kicker get louder. If you compare class to class. Kicker hits hardwr as far as impact bass. Rockford gets lower more clean low bass. I would give the quality edge to Rockford fosgate. That's my favorite overall brand.

1452 the solo x was a terrible sub, the voicecoil always rubbed and burned out fast. I am glad they discontinued it

i picked up the 10 inch VX when it came out for my xterra and that little 10 rattles my wipers and mirrors. people think its dual 12s. i push it hard and now im adding another vx and bigger amp. that VX is the way to go i cant imagine how the 15s must feel.

I have 4 12 inch CVR Subs. I believe that they are the '07 models. They are silver with the red label in the middle of the cone. 2 of them I've used for 3 years and the other 2 are still brand new in the box and haven't been touched. I've had these subs for about 6 years now.

T Wise II I'm hearing that the kicker comp cvr are no good. What is your opinion. I just put 2 15 inch vr in my explorer last month and I'm wondering if I made a bad choice I have the 2010 models
David Hendrickson use them while you have them.......look for somethimg else as you go. You won't be satisfied.
I have 2-10" comp r's on a zapco 1kdm 1000.1 4 years now and still no issues.
I been running kicker 12's since the 80's but my D class Orion smoked both Comp R's within 3 months. Looking for a upgrade

I bought a kicker comp c in a ported truck box it is 300 watts rms 600 peak it is a shallow mount 10 inch sub it was $119 at Best Buy if you don’t have that much space this is perfect it sound good I have read reviews a lot of people have giving it bad reviews I don’t know why it dishes out good bass it doesn’t take up that much space
The last time I checked the regular comp is 150 and 300 max

Hi my name is Nick I am 44 years old I have been studying the way sound and air movement work together and the best ways to get the energy to flow when it comes to designing speaker boxes I have spent my entire adult life designing a box that I built it put into my 4Runner which cost me all of my money over the years to get this right and probably six relationships and it's a force order bandpass Box but not just any bandpass box this is something that is not out in the market something that'll knock your freaking socks off when you believe how amazing it sounds kind of like when you heard Bo's little clock radio for the first time when I was hungover when I heard that it sounded like somebody had the radio huge radio blaring but it was just a little clock radio and it was so clear I have figured that out wood base I won't go into the tuning and stuff details but I had four different 12 inch kicker I had one comp C12 1 comp R 12 1 comp Q 12 N1 Solo-Baric 12 this box was made out of wood epoxy in fiber resin and had an amp for each 12 would that also had a extra battery installed and the back of my 4Runner total this box probably weighed 120 lb and it sounded so ridiculous someone the neighbor from across the street came over and said she was ringing my doorbell but didn't hear her she basically broken entry into my home came into my garage and scared the crap out of me and asked me if I could turn it down because I was knocking stuff off of her walls I said really she goes yes that sounds ridiculous I said that's what I was hoping for and I planned on pitching it to kicker but then the unthinkable happened someone stole the entire system except the deck they took the entire box which had the amps on Springs sort of to keep from vibrating on the box they stole the capacitors the extra battery and all the fuses without anybody seeing a freaking thing in a parking lot on they stole the whole hatch off the back of the f****** 4Runner how in the hell did they do that and they did it quickly they didn't know what they were doing then it cut anyting it was like a NASCAR pit crew came in Jack my s*** up change my tires was out before I even know what happened except it was a base crew that came in took my hachof stole it and took my whole system out before I knew it I am devastated and I no longer have the love for it anymore I'm not spending another dime I am just broken because of this that someone that knew what they were doing must have known what I was doing and targeted me I mean it was somebody scared that what did I was going to hurt their business or something I'm just little old me I was trying to just design because of the love of it and I wanted to I don't know possibly either sell the idea or get a freaking job for kicker I was having any nefarious ideas like some people out there for the first time in my life I actually had something that was good that nobody else has thought of and I put it together in a way that people said wasn't possible or frowned upon it when I hear people from stereo places say you can't do something that really pisses me off because you can do it they are just f****** lazy and don't want to expand our thinking or put any timer to effort into it and what's even worse is when you do and some jackass crew comes in and steals your entire life I apologize for the language but I and no longer have the ambition for this stereo stuff anymore it would have to be a miracle to get me to get back into it but this just broke me my name is Nick I am from upstate New York the louche Capitol of the world and if anyone from kicker would like to talk to me to find out how I made their quad box sound like that Fisher Price toy barn when you opened the door it said mooo. I don't mean that in a disrespectful way, I'm just using that to show you how what i designed when you hear it, the bass resonates like a classical music thunderstorm and building demo together minus any chaufing even though theres massive air. I would be honored to meet with kicker and work out something for my design that will literally have kicker cornering the market even if they weren't trying to. Kicker is my favorite for subs and it would be another blow if they weren't interested but hey im a survivor and blaupunk early 90s 6x9s were and still are the best and in 2014 they made the best 4 channel amp with sub outs and a ridiculous crossover for all 4 channels and the subs and has three compressor switches for front, back and subout and their GPS system in there Sandeigo 560 is the best but today they suck but I would love to meet someone from Kicker and take a tour and pitch my design, you can email me at wwgowga17@gmail.com

I've got 2 solobarics l7 they get really loud and drill. They don't get as low as some brands but they have wayore volume and drill

Picking up a new vehicle soon, I have a sealed box with 2 CVR15's subs that weren't really used too much in my old vehicle. Thinking of reusing them in the new SUV instead of buying new LT dual box... Will I need to upgrade the OEM 190 amp alternator and battery to run this??? 800 watt rms amp for the doors too... BIG 3 getting done too.. Thanx!!!!

Currently I'm jamming on the 12" Comp R. It's a good sub, but it just doesn't stand up to the Rockford Fosgate P2 12" that I had. I'm definitely switching back as soon as I can. For it's power class, I can't imagine a better sub
I have a Compvx 15 and I've dropped it the 4 ohm sub to a 1 ohm load and it takes a beating every day for 2000 watts and have had it for 8 months no distortion

Q Class Kickers Tho
They are built cheap. They don’t like wattage and they can’t handle it without distorting very badly. The regular solobaric L7 is way better. Kicker has gotten “China cheap” with Walmart and it’s so disappointing.

I had blew out the surround molding on 3 of the 10 inch subs in a box made for tens. I was running the right power on them and they just blew out with in a couple of months of purchase.

I have two 44L7S154... and have never heard them... in '95 i had two comp c 15's and a RF 200.... been out of car audio for a long time... now I have a t1500.1bdcp with two 44L7S154 and can't find a box builder... never heard the square subwoofers play ever

What Kicker needs to do is to create a 120v AC Amplifier so that we can install these car audio speakers at home using their amplifier technology. No need to get a power converter from 120ac to 13.8dc. C'mon Kicker.. I want to install a complete system for my pool/patio area but I don't want to add a power converter to the system.

hammage firvoulous please delete your comment, kicker will never be as good as sundown. I have never seen a solo baric or Q series kicker out do the SA series in Sundown, and SA only handles 600-800 RMS. Maybe a little more because they're Sundown 😉

Only thing I don't get with kicker is that the CVX is 1000 watt rms and max out at 2000 watt. The L7 has the same but cost more. What's the point in buying the L7?
Well that's the solo-baric L7S, the older model. What makes the L7 a better subwoofer and more expensive is it creates a lot more bass, the square cone design provides 20% more cone area than a typical round subwoofer like the CVX, which means more air displacement which means increased bass.
For the new L7 in the Q-series, the 8" does 500W RMS, 10" does 750W RMS, 12" does 900W RMS and the 15" does 1200W RMS.
Kicker F12 and S12 the best!
