My Grande Punto Tjet has snapped in exactly the same place as I am changing my manifold as it is cracked. Only issue for me is my extractor bit has snapped off inside so I need to grind a hole out now :( In the end I did manage to weld a nut on the end and get it out that way.
I have Giulietta 1.4 Tjet 2014 from few months. I noticed few issues in this car: 1. Loud engine while increasing speed 2. Petrol smell in the engine oil (few days after oil change) 3. Black tip of the exhoust pipe There is no any faults on the dashboard and the ECU. Mileage of this car is about 200.000. Only thing I noticed is the black trace of fumes on the left side of the exhoust manifold. It is possible that modified exhoust manifold (with grooves on the face) is cracked or it is only sealing problem?
Your exhaust manifold gasket is leaking because the exhust studs have failed…. your loosing power and using up more petrol… On old tuning machines of yesteryear there was a function to test power from the engine then you could test each cylinder… 4 or 6 or 8 petrol or diesel…. When an engine was down on power I used to tighten up all intake and exhaust and carb. nuts/bolts this would increase power up to 8 to 12 %…. your engine is blowing at the head, get it fixed asap. if your local to me in Rayners Lane Harrow. call and we can fix…. might take. 3 to 4 hours, we heat all sized nuts with oxy asset but do get it fixed…..
