Wow, what a Trip, Tess, This week I decided to devote to learning to skate backwards, and here You are! :D I Must be doing something Right!!! ;) :D O:) YOU ROCK!!! :D :D :D
So at first when you are learning, make sure nothing is behind you so you don't have to worry about rolling over or hitting anything. When you get more comfortable at skating backwards, yes then you kinda peak over your shoulder to see what's behind you. I wouldn't suggest you turn your whole body :) Hope that helps, good luck!
I got used to going backwards with toe plugs instead of toe stops. Now I think I want to go back to toe stops… I was trying to learn toe spins. I think be I I should wear toe stops for outdoors or going faster backwards in case I need to stop. Thoughts?
