    Hey man nice, that's a handy multi-process machine! I don't see why anybody would want the 4t setting though, the one where you pull the trigger again to stop it, but to each their own. Have a great weekend, bud!

    I have been using one for the last 8 months or so and it is awesome. It will even run 1/4 in hard facing rods. I run mine on 240v with a 30 Amp breaker and even on full power it has not once tripped the breaker. Only thing to look out for is that a lot of people set up 50 Amp for welding but the cord that is hooked up to the welder is only rated for 30. Just be careful with that. Other than that this welder is awesome. My buddy Is a professional welder and I let him try it out, he ended up getting one for his home shop he said it runs as well as his $2500 Miller multi process.

      @@M4A3 I love mine. It has yet to let me down. Only thing I wish it had was the ability to use a pedal for TIG. The dedicated TIG welder they make can use a pedal though. The multi process welder I purchased just has lift TIG, but it does have high frequency start so that's a plus.

    It seems their synergic setting are too hot.
    From what I have seen with people mig welding using the synergic settings is they get a lot of splatter.
    However it gives newbs like me a place to start and you do have the option to turn the voltage down and even adjust the inductance.
    I'm not sure what adjusting the inductance does but I hope I will learn.

    Great video! Can you do one using MMA? I am new to welding and got this welder. I'm using 7018, 3/32 rods and have a hard time with it sticking on 1/8" steel. Current setting = "90," Hot start = "3," and Arc Force = "3." It sticks about 80% of the time. I've tried the "match strike" method and it usually sticks. I want to make sure my settings are correct. Anyway, thank you again for the video!

    • @1rustytree
      @1rustytree  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks! Are you welding with 120v? or 220? being new to welding as you said, try using a 6013 3/32 rod at 90 EP, clean up work piece for a good clamp for ground . I am not a pro welder, but increasing the amps sometimes help too . It may sound too high for the rod but the technical stuff wont help if you cant get used to running beads. I have very seldom had 7018 around, due them picking up moisture. Crank up the amps and change polarity around see what that does.
      I will try to put something out on the stick MMA part of the welder. Thanks for watching!

    • @vigilantobserver8389
      @vigilantobserver8389 2 роки тому +1

      @@1rustytree Thank you for your advice and replying. I have to weld a part of the sub frame on my old minivan. I read that 7018 is best for it. 6013 will work okay? I plan on MIG Welding the majority, but heard 7018 can get through rust the best. I'll get rid of as much rust as possible, but wanted MMA as a backup to using MIG. So, switching polarities won't affect the welder, right? What's odd is the welder specs said it was DCEN, but proceeded to suggest using 7018 and the welder in DCEP configuration (sure I trust Chinese instructions 😉). Since regular generators' power isn't very clean, welders like yours (inverter type) need an Inverter generator for remote power, correct? Anyways, thank you, I've subb'd. Practical welding applications in the field is what you offer and what I need!

    • @1rustytree
      @1rustytree  2 роки тому +1

      Not sure about the generator question, but a 6011 rod is the only one I have heard of that is a "dirty metal rod" or farm rod, and I have only used the 6011 on AC , its a pretty wild rod but gets the job done!. Try and clean as mush as possible on the weld area and where you clamp the ground.
      You can change your polarity on that welder by switching the ground clamp cable and electrode holder cable in the + and - connector on the welder inputs. I would practice with some 6013 just to get a feel of laying down different beads. Be careful, I would hate to see your van come apart!

    • @vigilantobserver8389
      @vigilantobserver8389 2 роки тому +1

      @@1rustytree Thanks! You use 6011 on farm equipment or 6013? I have 6011 and 7018. I need to get some 6013. I swapped the polarity and "maybe" some mild improvement. I am improving on a technique, where I start at a more acute angle and then correct the arc once I got it started. It doesn't look like "Hot start" is working well for me. Supposedly, it should be set at 20-25% of the current setting. That is "2" at a 90A setting. I bumped it to "3,4,5" at "95, 100, 105" Amps. I didn't see any difference. The reviews are good for the stick welding option on my machine, so it's definitely me. I'm just trying to baby the truck for a few more years. I only use it to haul stuff, on occasion. I'll be watching it like a hawk and relegate it to surface streets. Thank you very much!

    Thanks for the demo. BTW, did you build your own metal welding table or did you use a HF table? I've seen those HF tables and thought they might be a bit lacking in size and thickness. I have a MIG welder that I purchased from my friend in bible studies and have been doing so many other things. I need to dedicate some time to welding. My thinking is that you're only proficient as much as you practice. Always enjoy your projects and tips. I watched Joe LaSage "Steel to Wood" channel he makes some terrific welding look so simple. I guess once I get off my fanny and start burning some metal, then I too can build some metal projects. Take it easy. Thanks again for the video. Full-watch. Don 👍🏽🙂

I paid $289 after tax/delivery for the Tooliom, vs $489 for the Titanium. You aren't going to see any advantages with the HF model, especially nothing warranting an extra $200.
