- In this video I'll show you how to use your computer keyboard like a MIDI keyboard when using Kontakt from Native Instruments in standalone.
If you don't have a MIDI keyboard handy, you can use your computer keyboard to play/trigger notes in Kontakt 5. The layout is similar to a MIDI keyboard in terms of note placement as well.

I have a MIDI, but do you know how can I use computers keyboard to make a library from kontakt? For e.g. assign it so that Q-P - bass, A-L - keys, Z-M - brass and so on?
That is great and it works, but im having trouble with something else.
I'm trying to map a keyboard key to a certain midi cc so it controls the una corda pedal in the Embertone walker vst, but i just can't get it to work. (You can map the pedal to a midi cc in the vst)
I tried downloading a few programs, but something that seems this simple seems impossible to get it to work. 😟

every time i tweak some settings of an instrument within a kontakt library the keyboard get disabled. It then works again like 2 seconds later for not reason

I was getting super irritated by the fact this alone did not work, not at you Benoni, but the software. As it turns out, Having another DAW or software open using ASIO or your driver of choice will make it unavailable and Kontakt will opt for another source. But after you close any other DAW or software using, this alone doesn't fix the issue as Kontakt will keep loading the audio device it initially could access and is now set up for.
So, here's what fixed the issue for me.
Click the Gear>Audio>ASIO Config (Or whatever it says for you depending on what you use), then on the left under 'WDM List' you will see one audio source lit up, it is most likely not the one you want. Identify the name of your preferred audio output device if you don't already know it, disable the currently used device under that list then enable the one you need. Ensure that is it getting 32 Samples In and Out under 'Latency Compensation' as it was set to 0 in my case (probably due to the device being unavailable prior). I also enabled 'Allow Pull Mode (WaveRT) and left the Buffer Offset at 4ms as well as enabled 'Always Resample 44.1kHz->48kHz' based on my preferences, *but I don't think they are necessary changes to accomplish general audio output.* And then close the settings and try out an instrument. Hope this helps anyone who had the same issue! :)

Just figured it out for myself, the comment I just left should be a copypasta for this program, so I'll paste it here so you don't have to go sort Newest to find it.
