Hey I have a question, does deleting the keys in the map alter the sample library itself? I'm wanting to edit some of my orchestra libraries to make the key range smaller, basically, i'm making a multi and I'm wanting the trombones to not trigger at higher notes, but I don't want to delete any samples or mess up the instrument when I load it by itself later, I just want it altered for my multi, is this possible?
So can this be used as a way to extend the range of certain instruments that otherwise have a limited key range? I'm trying to expand the choir range since it's naturally limited.
Many thanks; but on the keybord in the bottom I will see only the mapped keys of the first instrument, how can I see the available key to be played with both (or more) instruments?
Is it possible to route different key(groups) to different outputs within one device (i mean 'Kick 07 + 2 Others' and 'billie.. ') of Kontakt? In this case: Suppose you put your jazzsamples and drumsamples in the same device: Can you route them to different outputs? Or do you have to create an extra device for each sample set you want to route differently?
Thank you. I am new to this but am getting up to speed. Around 4:13, you have mapped the horns to C1; when actually the sample goes to C#1. You clicked on several notes above C1 to show they produce no sound; but since the sample exists at C#1, would it play something if you pressed that key? What if another library that is also mapped to midi 1 used C#1; would it also play the jazz sample?
I have a question. When i hit the key, the sample stops as soon as i lift my finger up. Is there a way to let the sample play all the way until its end even if i lift my finger up?
got to be easier ways to map rather than resizing then moving all the samples to designated keys....there has to be shortcut for that ...that's what i'm looking for ....which i had hoped you would reveal....anyone else got the right mouse menu command?
answering my own question....remembered a tutorial i'd seen that when bringing samples into the mapping editor...by dragging the mouse downwards to the keyboard....one can make zones reduce to one key and that they're all adjacent to each other chromatically up the keyboard..saving the labor intensive aspect of what you were doing in this tutorial...and what i'd been doing and wasting a poultice of time....

can you explain how to map the drums to the pad on a keyboard. and an instrument to the keys? I would really appreciate it
Am I able to just using a midi keyboard instead of mapping everything? I'm using Reaper on my Mac and the controller is an Alesis QX49
you mean "MIDI map" them.. select the sample.. hit the key range on the MIDI keyboard? That'd be rad
I tried defining TAB, ENTER, BACKWARDS and " keys on instrument keyboard but I couldn't is there any way to define these keys?

Why use two instruments? Just drag all samples on one. They are not overlapping.
