I'd love to know what this nice house looked like in it's original days. The 50s renovations are also nice, especially all the knotty pine woodwork. I've a good feeling painting over the woodwork wasn't necessary and shouldn't have been done. The painted white floors were hideous, I'd be sanding and refinishing those. This house really didn't have to go, it appears to be at the edge of the new development and on a main road. Thanks for the tour and the fine livechat Greg! Stayin tuned! 👍🤠 Notes: 8:00 Needs live parakeets to make it complete. 10:14 Someone's creativity at work in the 50s renovations, I like it. 13:03 Spice racks inside the cabinet doors, great idea. 14:20 I belive this is where the refrigerator was meant to be and was originally, the cutout was to enable the refrigerator to be completely up against the wall to save a little more space and explains the recepticle. The black refrigerator to the right would be where a small eat in kitchen table would go, hence the chandelier in front of that refrigerator. 23:28 My most favorite "room" in the whole house, after all is done on a long day, sit and relax with quite a few cold ones, a perfect perch for when an unwelcome guest comes up the walk. King of the hill so to speak. 23:55 Pause, zoom and notice the name on the construction site office, it'd be good for a chuckle when viewed in a phone book. 31:05 This bathroom looks more like a 70s renovation, I don't care much for it, it needs to be simplified. Imagine a clawfoot tub, pedestal sink and one of those toilets with the up high tank with the pull chain handle.
Hey John!! I too am curious what it looked like early on. And I'm a true believer of not painting beautiful wood. I'm going to pin this so everybody can see your great comment and notes!!
Hey Rachel! I agree, today everything is so cookie cutter and ordinary, and most definitely not built to last either! Thank you so much for watching and commenting and I hope you'll be back for another! Sorry about the slow reply
This was an awesome place! Love all of the pine in this house! Thanks for the shout out brother! The wallpaper in one of the rooms did remind me of The Price Is Right, I was thinking that before you mentioned it 😂. The bathroom was one of the most unique I’ve ever seen. It’s a shame that somebody’s gonna tear this house down. Awesome explore as always!
Thank you for checking it out and being there as always man!! I knew you would love the pine. And yeah that was very price is white wallpaper right?! The bathroom was very cool too I agree. Thanks for being part of this thing Jamie!!
Missed this one! Cool old place. Had the pleasure (?) of renovating a house built in 1912 several years ago. It was pretty hacked up when we bought it, but we did our best to keep the character of the place. Wasn't as big or as fancy as this place but had a lot of similarities on a smaller scale. The stair case was a lot the same and the trim work. This place must have been stunning in its prime. Thanks for a great explore!
Hey Michelle!! I'm glad you saw the replay though.. It is a great old place eh?? The inside is quite different than how outside's impressive might give. So how did your project turn out? Which characters of your place were you protective of the most??? Sounds like it was a great project, I'm sure its a great home!! thank you so much for watching this one, I hope you let me know more about your project!
@@UncappedFilms I was happy with how it turned out overall but a little disappointed that some of it couldn’t be turned back to the original state! The most frustrating thing was the trim work. The original was still there but it had been painted and for some reason someone had sprayed what looked like popcorn ceiling on the plaster walls and hadn’t covered the baseboards and door frames so it was a big mess. I scraped the walls by hand and got it back to pretty decent condition for the original plaster and lath. I used a heat gun to try and get the trim back to the original wood color but there were so many layers of paint. In the end I got most of the bumpy stuff off, sanded it down and painted it white. We kept the original staircase. It looked a lot like this one with the underside exposed. They did some really nice framework with cornices that was still in pretty good condition other than being painted. I painted the treads dark brown and then cleaned up the chipped paint and redid the banister and risers in white. The kitchen was the biggest challenge. Originally, I think it was galley style but at some point someone enclosed the back porch to make it bigger. The cellar would have originally been a walk out I think. The stairs were pretty treacherous so we wanted to bring the laundry upstairs, too. We ended up hiring a local contractor that had experience with older houses and it ended up being a total gut. The original cabinetry was gone so we had to get new but we tried to get more of the shaker styled wood that I hoped would fit the style a little better. We added some corner windows and put the sink there and it turned out really nice but it was clearly a modern renovation. We divided up an enormous closet and did a stackable washer and dryer and also added some storage above the closets. The whole place had 10 foot ceilings so we ended up going up for storage. The guys were able to mimic the paneling on the stairs and it turned out really nice. We did the bathroom ourselves and added a linen closet, but again, it wasn’t as good of a match for the original house cuz we really just had a shell. We redid all the electric and plumbing. New roof and furnace. Tore off a weird little lean to shed they added to the back and poured a nice kidney shaped patio. I kept and refinished all the vent registers and door knobs and most of the interior doors. The windows were huge and there was tons of natural light but we did have to replace them because they were in bad shape. By far the worst thing was when the crew found an open cistern full of water under the kitchen floor. Had to pump it out and fill it and seal it with concrete. And that’s why you always plan an extra 20% into your budget! lol! I loved the house but we just outgrew it. It was a little insane trying to get it fixed but it turned out well in the end! Thanks for asking about it!
@mh1388-mo well I appreciate everyone that takes time to watch and leave me a comment. It's the very least I could do. And I genuinely was interested in what you had to say :)
Hey Darlene!! I agree with you, that's what makes it so sad when they tear them down. if the walls could speak right!!? Thank you so much for watching and commenting and I hope you'll be back again!! Sorry for the slow reply
Great explore as usual honey I really love the house the stairway is absolutely beautiful so much cool woodwork with the cut out patterning nice size rooms sad to see them all go to be replaced with dolls houses. Have a great evening and wonderful weekend say hi to the lovely Katie for me 😘
Hey Glenys!! Thank you for being part of this as usual, and I appreciate the kind words. Staircase here was beautiful for sure. I agree what they build today does not compare. I will make sure to let Katie know you say hello, I hope you had a great weekend
Uncapped!! HOLY MOLY!! What an amazing tour🤩 Absolutely LOVED that staircase and all of the little built-in nooks and crannies throughout the home. The pine was beautiful in the kitchen. All of that original trim and hardware throughout the home was fabulous 😻 The spiderwebs at the top of the basement stairs looked to be as old as the home😂 I miss the live premieres darn it😢 Only temporary tho. You did such a great job showing the home and not getting us lost along the way 😊 Keep up the great work! 🤘🦅
Hey SMIPA!! I'm so glad you enjoyed this one, it was a great one to do. .The stairs are awesome, and yeah I loved how they maximized every spot for storage or whatever. Pine is always beautiful when done right, right?! Those spiderwebs looked like i would have been caught in them if I had tried to walk thru them lol.. I hope you make a premiere again soon!! and I tried not to get lost myself, so I'm glad the viewers didnt!!! thank you as always, couldn't do this without you
I loved everything about this one. When I first saw it from the outside, I just loved the whole style and look of it. The flat I rent, was built in the 50s, and my kitchen bench is a very similar star patterned style. I just love it. I noticed in the basement, I think it was in there, you pointed out the cereal boxes, as part of the ceiling, but what I noticed, a bit to the left, there was a Rinso one. I remember my mother using that when I was a kid, right through to the mid 70's. It was a laundry powder to wash your clothes. Here in New Zealand, anyway. They replaced the Rinso with Surf. A auesyion- Before they tear the place down, do they go through and recycle all the old hardware? Shame if they don't. Some of the old wallpaper was familiar, and also the flower power wallpaper. I absolutely loved the entry way. The white staircase and the wallpaper looks great. Thank you for this vid. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Hey Suzanne!! I'm so happy to hear you loved this one!! It was a really neat place to look. The outside gave me a different impression of what to expect inside vs what I actually saw. It definitely has that 'classic' look doesn't it? That 'rinso' box was a good catch, I didn't notice that, but I'm glad you did. I bet most of those boxes are from the 70's when it was built. I loved the staircase/entry way as well, the wallpaper really tied it together I thought.. AS for your question, sometimes they will take things of value for re-use, but 90% of the time, it usually just ends up in a bin aside from the large items they will recycle. A shame isn't it?
@UncappedFilms thanx for your reply. It is a damn shame that they don't recycle some of the old stuff inside before demolition alright. I love what you do, so thanx for sharing.
This was a great house storage Galor most of it was very well done That vintage TV tube screen in the wall was exceptionally cool hope that TV is salvage by someone if possible The kitchen cabinets reminded me of one of my aunt's kitchens. kitchen very similar in looks, Hope someone saves those amazing kitchen cabinets before the house is demolished, A fine older home I loved seeing it Thanks Greg for the tour😄😄😄😄
Hey Theresa!! I thought it was a great spot, so I'm happy to hear that you did as well!! They did a good job renovating it, the place was still filled with charm. That TV was so neat right?? I thought it was so cool that they took all the components and mounted them in that wall unit. Those kitchen cabinets are pretty neat, I hope they save them but you know how it goes!! Thank you so much for watching this one, I appreciate hearing from you ever time! Sorry for being slow to reply!
I loved the house. Especially, the knotty pine throughout, the fireplace and the cozy window seat. I have nothing good to say about the acquisition of real estate in that area. So, I will say nothing.
Hey Karen!! I'm glad you enjoyed this house. The pine was awesome and I agree that's cozy window bench was awesome wasn't it. I'm glad you enjoyed this video. Thank you for being part of this thing with us!!
Thank you Greg for a great video. What a amazing house, so sad that will be demolished. I really liked the kitchen and staircase. Say Hi to Katie and have a great weekend.
Hey Johnny's Model Cars, thanks for checking this one out! I'm really happy to see you've become a part of this thing and I appreciate it! It's a shame this place won't make it, I totally agree with you!! I have passed on the message to Katie, she says hello back!! she appreciates all the feedback.
Having been to this house myself, it was really interesting watching a video of it. Some things have vanished from when you went, but it clearly was a lovely home back in the day and I still think it could be a lovely home with renovate it. I didn’t know the kitchen cupboards were pine and although I don’t like them, I think they should stay. Maybe they could make this house into a little museum or something.
Hey Kathi! It really was a beautiful home in its day, and that kitchen is truly unique with the pine. I heard they are actually saving it, which is great news. I'm glad you had a chance to see this one yourself. Thanks as always!!
I agree, it looks like this might be one of those rare exceptions where they renovate the original home and build around it. Otherwise they would have bulldozed it before grading the surrounding area.
Hey Lincoln town Coupe!! That's a fancy house when it has that right?!? It's a shame that nobody else will have it sadly. Thank you for checking out this one and leaving a comment!!

Love that place but when you got to the pub themed part of the house i just couldn't rap my head around that
Hey Jerrold. That was a bit of a weird theme, and they didn't do a great job of it in that one room lol
Can't wait for this one
See you there!!
Another wonderful home bite’s the dust! Awesome video bro! 👍👍❤️🤘
Hey Carla!! I'm glad you enjoyed this one, thank you so much for watching it. And I appreciate the great comment as always!!

I agree, it looks like this might be one of those rare exceptions where they renovate the original home and build around it. Otherwise they would have bulldozed it before grading the surrounding area.
I'm pretty sure the dumpster is there for the house but I could be wrong. I guess we'll find out soon.
They do have the dumpster there so you never know. I'm pretty sure it's going
Yeah its worth saving
100% it is!! Thanks for all your comments man
1903 house with a bathroom both on the main floor AND second floor? Hot damn! I'd love to have that house!
Hey Lincoln town Coupe!! That's a fancy house when it has that right?!? It's a shame that nobody else will have it sadly. Thank you for checking out this one and leaving a comment!!
Its weird they are working the property but haven't touched the house yet
It's weird but it seems to happen all the time.
Too bad this is another demolition job- because this house fully remodeled, would have been a great home. Keep Orange Crushing It, Greg!
Hey Tommy! It's always a shame isn't it. This place definitely could have been a great home for much longer. Thank you for being part of this thing I appreciate you very much sir!!
I'd rather have a cool retrofitted home like that than another cookie-cutter home any day!

Looks like a enclosed porch to me, not a sunroom. Usually bigger vents are for return air to the furnace.

Hey Jerrold. She's around. Just had a hard time getting videos done together. She'll be back very soon I promise
